On the busy road filled with cars, Mu Yun Fan peered at the view of the Feng Yang tower from the side window. His gaze was dark and gloomy.
Jin Jing was already annoyed over the heavy traffic jam and when she unintentionally caught sight of Mu Yun Fan looking out to Feng Yang tower, she felt even more exasperated.
“What are you looking at?” Jin Jing asked with a cold snicker, “What’s so great about that office building that’s so deserving of all your attention?”
Realizing that Jin Jing’s words had a hidden meaning, Mu Yun Fan gave her a look silently and didn’t respond. He switched his posture and closed his eyes to rest.
His reaction didn’t satisfy Jin Jing and her words came out uglier, “Are you thinking of someone from that view? You are looking at a building but who are you thinking of? Is Gu Xiao Xiao working there? Should I stop the car so you can pay her a visit?”
The red traffic light turned green and the pile of cars before hers finally reacted. However, when it was Jin Jing’s turn, she stayed put. After several seconds, the car behind her impatiently honked.
“Drive.” Mu Yun Fan sighed helplessly and stared at Jin Jing, “We can talk when we get back.”
“We can talk right here right now!” Mu Yun Fan’s attitude towards Jin Jing these days has been making her feel uneasy, “Mu Yun Fan, don’t forget who you are dating right now and who your fiancée is! Don’t forget that what I can give you isn’t something Gu Xiao Xiao can ever give you!”
Mu Yun Fan squinted his eyes. Staring at the furious Jin Jing, he was far too calm in comparison.
“Are you sure you want me to tell you the difference between you and Gu Xiao Xiao right here and now?” Mu Yun Fan eyed the clock on the car, “We have less than an hour. Based on the way you are driving now, we shouldn’t even try to get to today’s meeting. We might as well just go straight home.”
Jin Jing was grinding her teeth at this and stared at Mu Yun Fan unpleasantly for a long while. Then, she began to drive forward again.
By the time they finally reached the conference center, Jin Jing and Mu Yun Fan had to park and head straight for the meeting room on the first floor.
Today, there was an “Internet Financial Development Conference”. Many prominent members of City B were attending. It was rumored that even the mysterious CEO of Feng Yang, who hasn’t shown his face since he came back to the country from abroad will be attending.
Jin Jing walked inside and looked around. Their seats were at the back and at first glance, there were many familiar faces.
The meeting was long and continued for hours. Jin Jing was getting impatient while Mu Yun Fan was paying full attention and even made notes.
The person speaking on behalf of Feng Yang was Xue Ming. While Xue Ming held the General Manager title, most people who know the industry know that he is basically the CEO’s right-hand man. Plus, during the years the CEO wasn’t around, he was the acting CEO with much power.
By the time the meeting ended, Jin Jing still didn’t see Feng Yang CEO’s appearance. After she asked around, she found out that that person will only be showing up at tonight’s banquet.
“He sure thinks highly of himself.” Jin Jing mumbled, “I sure want to see just what this legendary and mysterious person looks like.”
The banquet starts at 7 pm. Worried that there would be traffic, Jin Jing decided to just spend her spare time looking around the area.
This conference hall is close to the financial district so there were many stores to shop around in. Jin Jing dragged Mu Yun Fan around, buying whatever she wanted and before she realized, they had arrived right below Feng Yang tower. It was also the time for Feng Yang’s employees to get off work.
