Compared to strength training workouts, these two exercises were not easy.

However, Xiang Kun could recover extremely quickly. Whenever he felt tired, he just had to stop and rest for two minutes.

However, when the sun rose, he could clearly feel that his ability to recover was deteriorating quickly. He needed seven to eight minutes to recover.

Moreover, he was very sure that it was not the tiredness from his body, but because of the time of day.

Xiang Kun opened his word document and wrote something down.

The changes in his energy could be related to some elements of the night. Perhaps it was the temperature, the moonlight, the tidal force, or the changes in air pressure.

Since then, the document that Xiang Kun used to record had an extra note about the temperatures of the different periods of the day, as well as the time of sunrise.

After nine in the morning, Xiang Kun headed to the gym.

It was working hours on a weekday, so there were very few people in the gym. Even the instructors had yet to start work.

Xiang Kun began to train alone. Usually, one could only train one or two target muscle groups. For example, one would train one’s chest muscles and triceps today, then train one’s back and shoulders the next day, then legs and biceps the following day. The cycle would repeat every four to five days. That was because one’s strength was limited every day. Moreover, muscles required time to recover.

However, Xiang Kun was different. His recovery speed was much faster than a normal person’s. Even though his performance was not as good in the morning, after intensive training, he could still recover after a short rest and continue training.

Therefore, Xiang Kun did a round of intensive training to all his muscle groups before training his left arm exclusively.

Near noon, trainer Shen, the trainer who had taken that bet with Xiang Kun the day before, arrived at the gym. He saw Xiang Kun and went over to greet him.

Evidently, Xiang Kun’s performance the day before had impressed the trainer tremendously.

However, trainer Shen did not stay with Xiang Kun for long. He could tell that Xiang Kun liked to workout alone and hated to be interrupted by others.

If he hadn’t been worried that he would look weird if he stayed in the gym for the entire day, Xiang Kun wouldn’t have left at noon and would have stayed all the way until the gym closed at night.

At noon, he contacted the tenant of his apartment. The six-month rental agreement was about to expire that month. Hence, Xiang Kun decided to tell his tenant that he was not planning to rent out the apartment anymore and would not renew the contract. Of course, as it was already the 19th day of the month, Xiang Kun told his tenant that he could move out at any time before the 15th day of the next month and he would not charge him any rental fees.

The tenant did not oppose that. After all, it was relatively easy to look for housing nearby, and they were initially looking for a bigger apartment.

Although this meant that Xiang Kun’s cost of living would increase by more than two times, he realized that with his current situation, if he continued to stay in a narrow rental apartment where he could easily bump into others, it would no longer be suitable.

Moreover, he did not have to go to work and hence did not need to consider the time taken to commute.

Compared to renting out his apartment, if he stayed alone, it was less likely for his secrets to be exposed.

At night, Xiang Kun sent a friend invitation through WeChat to the girl who Chang Bin had introduced, introducing himself.

Then he asked, “Do you have any plans tomorrow afternoon?” He asked that because it was Saturday tomorrow.

The girl replied, “I should be free, why?”

Xiang Kun said, “If you don’t mind, shall we meet tomorrow afternoon?”

If it was in the afternoon, he could avoid a meal and could meet in a cafe or have drinks. It would be weird if one party did not eat anything during a meal, and it would affect the other party. However, drinks were different. He could pretend to drink and not make it look obvious.

The girl replied in a straightforward manner, “Sure!”

Then Xiang Kun asked her where was convenient for her and made her choose a place she was familiar with.

After the girl replied with the cafe’s name and location, neither of them continued chatting. It was evident that both parties would not take much initiative.

At night, Xiang Kun did not focus on training his vision or lung capacity. He also did not do much bodyweight training. He was slightly worried that he would suddenly crave blood during the meeting tomorrow afternoon and end up falling asleep. Although he did not really want any outcomes from the matchmaking, it would be disrespectful to stand the girl up. In fact, it might affect Chang Bin and Wang Han.

However, Xiang Kun was not bored while staying up. He searched up medical papers related to hematology and infectious diseases and read up on them. Meanwhile, he also read up on articles regarding life sciences. Of course, he did not intend to obtain much from these articles, he just wanted to gain some relevant knowledge so that he could investigate X correctly.

After drinking blood twice, not only had his strength increased, his memory and thinking speed had improved, and now he could easily focus and had more energy.

In the past, when reading articles, even in his prime condition, he needed twice or thrice the time compared to now. Moreover, he could only be productive for four to five hours before he needed a break. Now he did not even have to sleep or eat. His energy recovered quickly and his attention span was much longer.

At about 1 AM, Xiang Kun stretched his body. He looked out at the night scenery and walked out of his apartment.

He did not go down. Instead, he went up to the rooftop.

Xiang Kun only went up to the rooftop when he needed to sun his mattress. It was his first time going up in the night.

However, he did not expect there to be so many people on the rooftop at such wee hours.

There was a couple cuddling on the rooftop. They were shocked when Xiang Kun opened the door. However, upon realizing who it was with the light from the corridor, they did not panic. Instead, they nodded and greeted him.

Xiang Kun could tell that they were the couple living on the floor beneath him. They seemed to have just graduated from university.

After greeting each other, Xiang Kun did not interrupt the couple. Instead, he went to the other side of the rooftop. He looked afar as he held the railing, looking as though he was up there to get some fresh air.

He had been wondering why his condition was much better after the sun set; however, he could not figure out the reason.
