Zhou Qingfeng cursed out loud. He was now very certain that he had no gift whatsoever when it came to matters regarding luck. After the brainwave analyzer had recorded his brainwaves, it matched them with the brain of a chimpanzee.
Seeing Zhou Qingfeng get off the analyzer with a dull expression on his face, Angie and Tony Parker moved back a little fearfully. On the other hand, Catarina laughed mockingly. “You’re a very good match with a chimpanzee!”
A chimpanzee could not complement Dog Meat in any way. Even walking would be difficult. Perhaps it was the result of a creativity burnout that a Babylon Intelligence Lab research worker had. It was extremely comical.
Thinking about how hard he had worked until this point only to have ended up with this result, Zhou Qingfeng was extremely upset. It was Catarina who said, “Hey! Are you leaving? Let Tony Parker try. If Dog Meat follows him, it’ll at least provide Angie some protection.”
Tony Parker immediately began to smile sunnily and nod fervently. Only when he saw Zhou Fengqing’s upset expression did he withdraw himself, putting on a mischievous, playful expression.
According to the plot of the movie, Dog Meat would indeed fall into Tony Parker’s hands. The bumbling idiot of a thug would then survive The Catastrophe by solely relying on the fierce, fearless, and extremely loyal Dog Meat. He would turn tail and run each time he encountered danger, while Dog Meat would dash up and solve those things for his owner.
Tony Parker caused a lot of trouble in the movie—and it only got worse each time—Dog Meat had to face stronger enemies as time went on.
After 3 months, when the nuclear bombs rained down, Dog Meat’s fur fell off his skin. His body armor could be seen full of bullet scars, and some of his parts were even broken. That included one of his electronic eyes and one of its legs. Nevertheless, no matter how much his owner wrecked him, Dog Meat never left Tony Parker.
For such a loyal companion to be used like that by a little thug, it made Zhou Qingfeng really mad. However, if he did not let Tony Parker get the mechanical dog, the Lawrence family would have nobody to help them out when they faced dangerous situations. With Tony Parker’s ability to cause trouble, he would bring misfortune to the Lawrence family sooner or later.
If Zhou Qingfeng managed to obtain Dog Meat, he could think of a way to protect the Lawrence family and at least prevent the three months before The Catastrophe from changing too much. As for the nuclear bombing that would come in three months, everyone’s wellbeing would depend on their own fortune. Nevertheless, Zhou Qingfeng had failed to obtain the best version of Dog Meat.

“Let him go then.” Zhou Qingfeng could only sigh and allow Tony Parker to sit in the brainwave analyzer. A few minutes later, the biochemical brain that corresponded with Dog Meat’s body was retrieved.
The assembly started…
Dog Meat’s body was designed based on a German wolfhound. It did not look big but had a vigilant aura to it. Its height was around 60 centimeters, and its four limbs’ had motion strength that was relatively strong. It weighed 50 kilograms and yet could still move around bearing a burden as heavy as 200 kilograms.
Dog Meat had the same sense of smell as a real dog. Additionally, its electronic eyes was capable of infrared vision. Its body was covered by an armor plate, so it could withstand gunfire from regular rifles. Its sharp teeth matched its armor, and along with its strong four limbs, it was an extremely frightening weapon altogether.
Seeing the fully-assembled Dog Meat emerge from the sterile control room and start wagging its tail the moment it saw Tony Parker, Zhou Qingfeng could not accept it. He felt that he had wasted his effort, like a poor father who had to give away his money as his daughter’s dowry.
“Let’s go,” Zhou Qingfeng said in a very surly manner. “You guys should become aware of the current situation as well. Media reports are saying that the police, government officials, military, and people of the consortium have disappeared. I think chaos will erupt very soon all around the world. You should prepare yourself mentally to face a disaster.”
“What?” Catarina had mostly recovered by now and could walk by herself. When she heard Zhou Qingfeng’s words, she found them hard to comprehend.
“I’m just saying that the moment you all walk out of the Babylon Intelligence Lab, you’ll notice that the entire world has changed.” Zhou Qingfeng walked over to the lab’s safety door and released a few of the tied-up security guards. When the security guards saw Catarina, they immediately screamed and fled.
Angie was even more suspicious of Zhou Qingfeng now. She walked forth a few steps and asked, “Victor, what do you mean? Why would the police have disappeared?”
“I don’t know, but you’ll see that all of society has changed when you walk out later. From now on, please mind your own safety because New York will become even more dangerous than before.” Zhou Qingfeng walked toward the elevator only to see Leila Fox heading his way.
When Ms. Fox saw Dog Meat beside Tony Parker, she smiled immediately and said, “My dear, Mr. Victor Hugo, it seems like you failed to get the dog. Your expression looks quite hideous.”
The appearance of Leila Fox stunned Catarina and the two others. Unlike Zhou Qingfeng nad his cluelessness about the year 2030, they recognized the leader of the Fox Finance Group at a single glance.
“So you two really escaped from the hands of the police!” Catarina exclaimed, “Victor, I think the reason why you couldn’t get Dog Meat is that you used up all your luck during your escape.”
Tony Parker excitedly ran up to Leila Fox and said joyfully, “Ms. Fox, I’m a big fan. I love you so much, and I worship everything about you. Could you give me an autograph? On my butt, how does that sound?”
“Scram!” Leila Fox dismissed the gangster with a single word before she slowly walked over to Zhou Qingfeng’s side. She turned to look at Catarina and her bunch.
Catarina gave Zhou Qingfeng and Leila Fox odd looks before she waved a hand at Angie and said, “Fine. It seems someone doesn’t want to come with us. Our mission has been completed too, so we can go now.”
Angie seemed to want to ask Zhou Qingfeng more. However, upon seeing that Zhou Qingfeng had no intention of responding, she turned around and began walking toward the elevator. As for Tony Parker, even though he had to admit defeat toward Leila Fox, he began playing with his newly obtained Dog Meat, utterly carefree.
Seeing that Dog Meat was about to be taken away, Zhou Qingfeng sighed sorrowfully. Meanwhile, Leila Fox smiled happily as she blew a breath of air into his ear and asked, “That dog is very important, right?”
“Yes, quite important.” As something so extremely useful that it could protect a bumbling idiot in an apocalypse, there was no way to overstate the importance of Dog Meat.
“You really want it, don’t you?”
“Yes, I really want it.” If not for the dog, what had Zhou Qingfeng spent the past three days fighting the police for?
“If I help you get the dog, could you answer my questions truthfully? I want to know your secret.”
Hearing Leila Fox say this, Zhou Qingfeng’s heart hesitated. “How can you help me get the dog?”
“That depends on whether you agree to my deal or not?” Leila Fox even pointed at Tony Parker and said, “You better hurry and make your decision, or your dog will be taken away.”
Right then, Tony Parker was leading Dog Meat into the elevator. He even purposely smiled and waved at Zhou Qingfeng while saying, “Thank you, Victor. Thanks for letting me win the bet. I appreciate your generosity a lot.”

“Okay, I agree.” Zhou Qingfeng no longer hesitated, secretly thinking, ‘Worse comes to worst, I’ll make Leila Fox my ally. This woman’s abilities can probably help me, and she’s quite reliable.’
“That’s a wise decision.” After Leila Fox said this, she whistled at Dog Meat and crooked a finger.
At this time, the elevator door was about to close. However, the moment Dog Meat heard the whistle, it immediately turned its head around and flew out of the elevator, whooshing over to Leila Fox’s side. It proceeded to run around in circles and wag its tail.
The elevator door closed but then opened very quickly right after. In it, all three people were staring with their eyes wide and mouth open. They had their eyes fixed on Dog Meat who had slipped out. Tony Parker, who had been laughing earlier, was the most shocked. He asked foolishly, “What’s going on here? How can you command my dog?”
