Trying to Make a Living in Another World with a Bottomless Appetite - Chapter 26

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

As they made their way out, they did not run into the battle she was expecting.

When she and George made it out safely, Celia couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief.

“Look how scared you were,”

Dionmya teased Celia, her tone carefree.

Celia wasn’t bothered by Dionmya’s teasing. She had too many questions that needed answers.

“Master, why?”

“Are you trying to ask why it’s been so peaceful the whole way?”

The question was written all over Celia’s face. Forget Dionmya, even George could see the doubt on her face.

However, George did not question her. Instead, he thoughtfully left some space for Celia to think.

He knew that Celia would tell him if it was necessary so he was in no hurry.

On Celia’s end, she dumped all her questions out at Dionmya,

“Yes, didn’t Master say that the Devil’s Apostle was attacking? But there was nothing along the way.”

“But of course. That guy won’t hold you guys back to fight with him, with the insignificant battle prowess you guys possess.”

The matter-of-fact tone surprised Celia. But she also caught some of the useful information from Dionmya’s words.

“That guy?”

“You can’t possibly be thinking that I’m the only one capable of existing till now around here right?”

Dionmya’s words caused Celia to lapse into silence because, as a matter of fact, that was what she thought.

But from the look of things, her thinking was too simplistic.

“It’s true, there were few who were more powerful than me in the past. But there were still many who were luckier than me.”

Setting aside Dinomya’s prideful boasting, Celia found much useful intel from her words.

After understanding what Dionmya meant, the first thought that came to Celia’s mind was fear.

Almost subconsciously, she reached out for George.

However, Celia stopped herself before she actually raised her hand.

The potential danger of this operation was greater than she had ever imagined.

If the slightest thing had gone amiss, both her and George’s lives would have been in danger.

The thought of having taken George on a mission so risky left her feeling shaken, even though they were safe now.

“It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s okay. It’s all over.”

Celia took a deep breath and calmed herself down. But she still couldn’t shake the self-blame.

For most part, she placed George’s safety above all else.

Therefore, she could not accept the fact that she had placed George in such a dangerous situation.

“In that case, there should have been quite a few people like Master on the battlefield. Why didn’t I see them?”

“It’s probably inaccurate to say that you didn’t see them.”

Upon hearing this, Celia’s heart tightened. Then, she heard Dionmya say,

“Do you remember the copper coffin you saw earlier?”

The sealed metal palace flashed through her mind and Celia asked in surprise,

“You mean that palace?”

“Yes, there’s an old friend of mine inside. Judging from the hatchling’s condition, he’s probably awake.”

“I see.” Celia couldn’t care less as to what that person had done to Siluca. She was too busy drowning in self-loathing.

Although this all started because a client tried to pay off a debt using intel to make up for a late payment, she was the one who agreed to the trade.

Which made her the instigator of this operation. As such, she felt extremely guilty.

Perhaps noticing Celia’s intense inner turmoil, Dionmya said,

“That’s enough. Stop thinking about unnecessary things. You don’t have to worry so much anymore.

Also, a gentle reminder. This is your subconscious. If you continue chatting with me here, your little boyfriend’s gonna get worried.”

“Ah!” Celia suddenly raised her head and looked at George, just in time to meet his worried gaze.

“George.”

“Are you alright?”

“Yes, everything’s fine now. Let’s go.”

Celia gathered her emotions quickly and led the way.

“Let’s go back now. I think you’re probably missing Volcano Giant’s Charcoal Roasted Demon Ox Leg, right?”

“You want to eat that?”

She took out her storage box and gestured to George,

“Of course! We had a bountiful harvest this time, so we don’t need to worry about food supplies for a while.”

Celia did not forget to nick a few (many) of the large fruits from the forest on her way out.

She only stopped when both their storage box rings ran out of space.

At Celia’s reminder, George too remembered the current situation and immediately let out a radiant smile..

“That’s great. Siluca! We’re in for such a treat when we get back!

“Has Daddy ever told you? The Charcoal Roasted Demon Ox Leg at Volcano Giant is the best there is. It’s the best Demon Ox Leg Daddy’s ever eaten.”

Roar!

Although Siluca was a newborn, its ability to learn went beyond their imagination.

While it couldn’t speak the human language due to biological limitations, Siluca was already fully capable of comprehending human speech.

Hence, when it heard George talking about food, it couldn’t help but drool.

It’s brilliant emerald eyes were filled with yearning.

Roar!

Looking at how impatient Siluca was, George smiled and pressed a finger against its mouth.

“No Siluca. You have to learn self-control. No being impatient. And no trying to get your try by acting cute.”

Seeing the now-pouting Siluca, Celia couldn’t help but comment wryly,

“Seriously, Siluca has completely become a foodie thanks to you. If this keeps up, I feel like we won’t be able to satisfy both your appetites even if we worked our butts off every month.”

“If the pay for being an adventurer is not enough, we can just change jobs.”

George thought nothing of it. He looked at Celia and said,

“It’s not like we became adventurers because we like adventuring.”

That was true. But Celia seemed to have forgotten their original intention of becoming adventurers.

Everything was for the sake of survival.

The only reason why they risked their lives to become adventurers, taking on various missions, was because the monthly pay they earned as adventurers was enough for them to live off of.

They couldn’t do so with other occupations.

However, things were different now. After all these years, both of them had developed various expertise. They had also grown up. Many occupations that were restricted to them due to their age were no longer so.

They could absolutely switch to safer and more profitable professions.

Of course, they could also take on several professions at the same time. As long as they could earn enough money to support themselves, that was enough..
