Traversing Time and Space: Supporting Actress on a Mission, Keep Your Cool! - Chapter 59

Leng Rui didn’t react the way Leng Ziyue had expected him to. He didn’t let go of Tang Guo, nor did he drive her away. Instead, he hugged Tang Guo even more tightly and frowned deeply.

He definitely didn’t like the thought of others touching things that belonged to him.

If it had been anyone other than his son, he would have probably destroyed them right away.

“Originally, I planned to tell you, Father, about it a long time ago. But thinking about how you’ve always treated women as mere playthings, I decided not to. I didn’t think that Tang Guo would be so capable, and that she’d be able to coax you into marrying her.”

Leng Ziyue seemed to have gone utterly crazy, as though he were possessed. “Now I’m left with no other choice but to tell you the truth.”

Leng Ziyue was feeling very pleased with himself. Since the breakup, Tang Guo had been very indifferent toward him. Even from the way she looked at him, he could see that indifference.

Once upon a time, Tang Guo had been so fond of him. Whether it was her eyes or heart, she was completely preoccupied with him and only him.

He didn’t know when, but at some point, he could no longer find a trace of himself in this woman’s eyes and heart.

Every time he heard her comparing Leng Rui to him, he was overcome with rage.

Couldn’t she have found someone better? Why did she have to end up with Leng Rui? Someone he always had to look up to, and someone he deeply feared.

When he broke up with her, he’d thought her life would be a living hell, or that she wouldn’t be able to reconcile herself to the breakup. He thought that even if they were no longer together, she would still have him in her heart.

The reality was that the moment the breakup was over, she clean forgot about him.

“Father, you still don’t know this yet. We broke up the day before I came back home and saw you two at the villa. I came back to ask for 20 million dollars, and that money was meant to be compensation for her.”

Leng Ziyue couldn’t wait to expose all of this woman’s flaws and shortcomings right then and there. He wanted to do it right before Leng Rui’s eyes.

Because he couldn’t have her, and because he wasn’t willing to let Leng Rui have her either, he would ruin her reputation at all costs.

He felt that he had gone mad. Yes, he had indeed gone mad. It was this woman. Time and again, she had disregarded him, scorned him, looked down on him, and finally, she drove him crazy.

“She broke up with me, and the next moment, she turned around and found herself another man. Father, I would advise you not to marry a woman like her. Who knows? She may already be secretly plotting to lay her hands on your money and property. When the time comes, she may just murder you and seize everything you have for herself.”

Leng Ziyue smiled crazily, and subconsciously, he looked at Tang Guo. The woman, who was resting in Leng Rui’s embrace, was still smiling so easily and lightheartedly. It was as though the person he was talking about wasn’t her.

Leng Rui, on the other hand, was no longer smiling. Tang Guo lifted her head to look at him.

Leng Ziyue didn’t speak any further. He felt that now, Leng Rui couldn’t possibly treat this woman as he had before.

Tang Guo hugged Leng Rui’s arm, a faint smile flashing across her lips. Then, very quickly, she lowered her head and said in a sweet voice, “Leng Rui, are you going to throw me away for the third time?”

Leng Rui felt a pair of small hands grip his arm tightly. The grip was much stronger than usual.

The moment Leng Ziyue was done speaking, subconsciously, he most certainly wanted Leng Rui to throw Tang Guo away—no, even better, to destroy her. He clearly knew that the relationship Tang Guo had had with his son before her relationship with him was beyond his control.

It could be anyone, and yet, it had to be Leng Ziyue.

Leng Rui said nothing. He felt the small hands tightly holding onto him gradually loosen their grip.

As the warmth of her hands left his body, he felt empty inside. Subconsciously, he grabbed Tang Guo’s departing hands.

“I’m not going to throw you away.”

Leng Rui gazed at Tang Guo. His long, slender fingers caressed the fair skin at the nape of her neck, and he held her hand gently, as though it would break if he were to bend it, albeit casually.

Leng Ziyue held his breath, suddenly feeling somewhat regretful.
