Jian Jiayue suddenly felt her face stinging with pain when she caught sight of Jian Sangyu whose hand was held by Gu Chen.

She tightened her grip on the goblet and the look she gave Jian Sangyu seemed so fierce it was as if she wanted to dig a hole through her.

“What a coincidence! I am wearing the exact same dress as Yue.” Jian Sangyu let out a light smile.

In her previous life, she came to the occasion wearing the white dress. When she came home and saw Jian Jiayue, the first reaction she had was that she had been wise not to wear the red dress for her mother’s birthday banquet as Mina had suggested for her to.

She had been tolerant towards Jian Jiayue, but her tolerance had been regarded as cowardly behavior and incapability.

This time, Jian Sangyu didn’t want to withdraw anymore. If someone didn’t like you, it didn’t matter how much you would change or who you would become.

She had been wronged and tolerant for years and she had gained nothing she desired in the end. So what was the point of making herself miserable?

Youth was short and what if an accident came and they all died. So now when it was time to indulge yourself, indulge in whatever way you want.

“Seems that you two like the same dress style. Nice, very nice, just like twins.” Father Jian didn’t seem to sense the intense atmosphere that arose between his two daughters, but praised both of the girls whilst standing by.

Jian Sangyu sneered inside her heart. She and Jian Jiayue did not share the same bloodline, how could they ever look like each other?

Anyone who was not blind could tell that Jian Sangyu looked hundreds of times better than Jian Jiayue!

Wearing the same dress was not a big deal, but the uglier one was always the embarrassed one.

And Jian Jiayue was the one that was most embarrassed. Jian Sangyu had shoved her totally into the shadows and now she had turned into a hideous ugly duckling.

The look Jian Jiayue gave Jian Sangyu looked poisonous. How dare she wear the same dress as her!

Father Jian didn’t care about what the women were battling about. His mind was upon Gu Chen totally, so he asked Jian Sangyu to talk with her mother and sister in peace before showing Gu Chen to the guests.

The moment Father Jian led Gu Chen away, Mother Jian was no longer smiling. She threw a look at Jian Sangyu’s dress and frowned as she spoke. “Sangyu, come and get your dress changed upstairs. Come back down and I will have a word with you before you go back out.”

“Sorry, Mom. I don’t have any other dress to get changed into.” Jian Sangyu looked apologetic. “Weren’t all the clothes at home moved when I was getting married?”

“Then you can have Jiayue’s.” Mother Jian instantly said, “Jiayue has many gowns that are newly made and bought.”

“Mom, I am more slender and taller than Jiayue, her dresses will not be a good fit.” Jian Sangyu said in a tone of confusion as she stood there smiling, looking at Jian Jiayue. “Is Jiayue not glad to be in the same dress as I am?”

Jian Jiayue was still silent as she was standing there.

Glad? Of course not!

Jian Sangyu looked prettier than her and had creamier skin than her. She even had a better body-shape than her. Even if Jian Sangyu only had some light makeup on, Jian Jiayue simply looked like a joke standing next to Jian Sangyu in the same dress.

“Mom, if Sister Jiayue does not like to wear the same clothes as my sister, then why doesn’t Sister Jiayue just go and get changed? Why must my sister go and change hers?” Jian Jialang spoke in such a straightforward way that Mother Jian got startled. “I think my sister looks better in this dress. Sister Jiayue doesn’t have a proper skin color to match the dazzling red color and who designed Sister Jiayue’s style today? Has she offended the stylist too?”

“Jian Jialang!” Jian Jiayue suddenly bellowed with a small voice after failing to hold her emotion any more. As she threw a look at the guests around her, she felt that everyone was sneering at her.

Jian Jiayue couldn’t stand still any more. She turned around and walked upstairs. The banquet had just begun and she really had no more guts to stay in the same dress as Jian Sangyu whilst standing next to her.

Mother Jian felt her heart ache. She threw a look at Jian Sangyu and found no words to blame her for anything. It must have been an accident that they were in the same dress, because Jian Sangyu had never been home before this event and she could not possibly have known that Jian Jiayue would wear this dress today.

But Mother Jian became slightly confused. Jian Sangyu had always been dressed in dresses of conventional styles in light colors, so what made her change her style today?
