To Be With You Forever - Chapter 46

Gu Chen had expected that Jian Sangyu would not take out her cell-phone obediently, so he stretched out his hands into her pocket and brought out the cell-phone of his own accord. He had seen her putting the cell-phone into the pocket of her hoodie when she was waiting for the cake.

“We are going home.” With Jian Sangyu’s red colored fruit cell-phone inside his pocket, Gu Chen walked towards the underground parking lot with the shopping bags.

He did not have to turn around to worry if Jian Sangyu, who had no wallet or cell-phone, would follow him.

Jian Sangyu stayed silent throughout the entire journey. It was not until the car pulled over in front of the Gu Family’s door did she have eyes upon Gu Chen’s trousers and try to grab the cell-phone back herself.

She had been wanting to do that on the way home, yet Gu Chen was driving and she didn’t want to risk her life to disturb him.

At the moment, however, Jian Sangyu thought that she was not a match against Gu Chen in strength in any way.

“Let’s have a deal.” Jian Sangyu tugged at Gu Chen’s sleeves as they were getting out of the car. “Can I have my cell-phone back? I swear I will never buy snacks again.”

“Haven’t you just done your shopping for them anyways?” Gu Chen snorted and then said, “Get out of the car.”

Obviously, it was not negotiable. Jian Sangyu was furious as she walked away from the car with things in her hands. Then she walked directly into the door. Gu Chen drove the car into the garage and walked through the door slowly with the bags in his hands.

Jian Sangyu was very annoyed by the way Gu Chen treated her cell-phone and wallet. So she tried hard to hide her snacks after she entered through the door and only saw Gu Chen when she walked downstairs. She snorted at him and walked into the kitchen to help the nanny with cooking.

Jian Sangyu was a decent chef. Before she was reborn, she would always make excellent dishes every time Gu Chen came home. But when she was alone at home, she was just too lazy to make any meals. Instead, she stopped putting on the show and chose to order delivery instead.

Nanny asked Jian Sangyu to take a rest in the living room, yet Jian Sangyu turned down her proposal. So they started to make preparations in the kitchen gleefully. The two talked and laughed despite their age difference. They shared ideas about cooking and they were quite happy.

Gu Chen walked away after listening to them outside the kitchen for a few seconds. He was quite surprised to find that Jian Sangyu could be so talkative. She had acted like a very silent girl in front of him and she would barely talk to him even if he spent the entire night at home.

She did smile sometimes, yet only a little. At that time, he had thought of her as someone quiet and silent but that seemed very pretentious in his eyes now.

Grandpa Gu came home at the lunch hour. He had his hands behind his back and hummed an old fashioned song as he entered through the door. He had been playing chess throughout the entire morning and won many matches. He even showed off the fact that his entire family was gathered for lunch to his old friend.

“Where is Sangyu?” Grandpa Gu asked about Jian Sangyu the moment he entered the room and saw Gu Chen sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper.

“In the kitchen.” Gu Chen replied.

Jian Sangyu happened to hear Grandpa Gu when she walked out of the kitchen with a dish. So she replied, “Hi, Grandpa!”

Grandpa Gu answered Jian Sangyu who was wearing an apron and then walked towards her. He said along the way, “Old Yang’s granddaughter is with him today for the weekend, and he seems so proud of her! She is just a granddaughter! And her looks are too ugly! I do not have a granddaughter, but I have granddaughter-in-laws, two of them! Each of them is much better looking than his granddaughter.”
