“Not buying!” Jian Sangyu was so furious that she even dared to bellow at Gu Chen with a low voice.
Gu Chen snorted. He stretched out his hand to the cart and picked out the candies and chips Jian Sangyu had chosen and nodded. “Alright then, you won’t get these either.”
Seeing the candies that she had been hiding being dug out by Gu Chen so easily, Jian Sangyu turned pale.
So, this guy had seen the snacks right from the beginning and he was waiting for the right moment to tease her!
Jian Sangyu got furious that she clenched her teeth. “Fine!” She bellowed at Gu Chen and strode away. She took another access out of the counter and walked out of the supermarket feeling annoyed with her chin raised.
Gu Chen had not expected that Jian Sangyu would have been annoyed so easily and left him alone. Therefore, as he couldn’t follow her with the cart blocking his way or back off to his old position, the only thing he could do was to watch Jian Sangyu disappearing from his sight with the ponytail swinging back and forth on her head.
“Are you finished?” Gu Chen was wondering what the man in front of him was dragging on for. So he asked impatiently. “How much longer do you need?”
When he spoke, his voice sounded low and frigid. And his cold face made the customer in front of him take a few steps backwards quietly and say, “If you are in a hurry, you can check out first. I have lost my card and it is nowhere to be seen.”
Gu Chen thanked him and then replaced the two boxes Jian Sangyu had gotten for him with the two original boxes he had picked up. He put all the things onto the counter.
The young man behind him whispered, “His girlfriend is gone, and he is not running after her. I truly wonder if these boxes will come in handy.”
“Maybe he is saving it for the next girlfriend?” The young man added one more guess.
Gu Chen had better hearing than others, and since the couple had been following behind him, anyone with good hearing could hear what they were whispering about.
“Sir, are you paying with cash or card?” The cashier asked sweetly.
Gu Chen took out the wallet from the pocket, and grabbed the bank card from the wallet to pass it to him. It was a black card with no consumption limitation and the couple behind him mumbled and said that the card looked very nice. Ignoring them, Gu Chen took the card back and stuffed it back into his wallet after he finished the payment.
After he put the bag into the cart, Gu Chen suddenly turned around and said in a very serious tone to the couple behind them. “That was my wife just now, so even if I take one box home with me, they will still come in handy. You do not have to worry about it.”
Having finished speaking, Gu Chen pushed the cart away, leaving the mumbling couple standing transfixed in embarrassment for quite a few seconds.
After finishing checking out, Gu Chen sped up when he left the counter. He pushed the cart through the supermarket exit, trying to see Jian Sangyu.
He was not sure if Jian Sangyu would call a taxi home on such a hot day by herself or wait for him on the same spot.
Luckily, he searched for a few seconds and found Jian Sangyu at a dessert store. She had her back towards him and was facing the door of the store, trying to pick the cake with a bent back.
Gu Chen walked towards her with the shipping bags in his hands and paused right behind Jian Sangyu quietly.
