“It’s Mom’s birthday tonight, there’s a banquet at home and many people are invited.” Jian Jialang answered instantly and then asked. “Will you come along, Brother-in-law?”
Jian Sangyu pinched Jian Jialang’s arm instantly after he asked the question, making his face twist.
“Give me a minute, I will take a shower and get changed.” Gu Chen said without hesitation, turned around and entered the room.
It was a different matter if he didn’t know or remember the date, but now he was back and knew of his mother-in-law’s birthday; he, as the son-in-law, was definitely going to do what he was supposed to do out of respect.
Seeing Gu Chen entering the room, Jian Sangyu let out a sigh of relief. But she did it too soon because a few seconds later Gu Chen returned. He stood in the dining room and watched Jian Sangyu who had her back-facing him as he noticed her back.
Only now did Gu Chen realize that he wasn’t delusional. The dress that Jian Sangyu was wearing had not only exposed her legs but also totally revealed her back with only a thin layer of veiling covering it. As a result, her jade-like back was shown in a very implicit, yet beautiful way.

Having said his instructions, he went into the attached bathroom in the bedroom to shower.
Jian Sangyu was dumbfounded after being carried in like this. She slammed the bed out of anger.
She took a look at the gown she had planned to wear today, rolled the expensive dress up with teeth clenched and stuffed it under the bed. As she heard water splashing down in the bathroom, she instantly grabbed her makeup kit and started to put on some makeup.
Jian Jialang could not help but praise her after he saw her putting on the lipstick. “Sis, you look extremely pretty today. Why did you always wear those old aunty style clothes and never wear makeup? You didn’t even use lipstick!”
“Because Gu Chen did not like it.” Jian Sangyu replied briefly, put the lipstick back into the bag, scooped up hee cell phone and texted Gu Chen, telling him that they were waiting for him downstairs in the parking lot.
