Third Master Jiang’s Absolute Darling - Chapter 34

Jiang Chi met Gu Xiang’s mother at the hospital in the afternoon. Her friend’s husband fell sick and she was among the friends who had come to visit him.

Upon seeing Jiang Chi, Gu Xiang’s mother greeted him first. “Jiang Chi.”

Jiang Chi was talking to his assistant and several fellows. When he saw Gu Xiang’s mother, he stopped. “Auntie.”

Gu Xiang’s mother walked over and stared at him. “What Auntie? It’s time for you to call me ‘Mom’.”

Jiang Chi was not used to that yet. Like Gu Xiang, he still wasn’t used to the fact that he was married. He had just squabbled with Gu Xiang earlier that morning but he remembered that she had made him a bowl of noodles the day before and he was grateful for it.

He rephrased his words. “Mom, why are you at the hospital? Is there something wrong?”

When someone came to the hospital, it usually wasn’t for a good reason.

Gu Xiang’s mother sighed. “My friend’s hubby fell sick and we are here to visit him. Sigh, she’s so pitiful! You know so many people in the hospital, can you help introduce a reliable doctor for him?”

Nowadays, when people went to the hospital, they always felt worried. They all preferred to get someone they knew to help out as it gave them some form of assurance.

Jiang Chi understood such behavior from the family of patients. He nodded. “Sure, but I am busy right now. I will let Qifeng bring you guys there.”

If they were unsure about anything, Qifeng could lead them along so they wouldn’t have to go through much trouble.

Gu Xiang’s mother looked at her son-in-law and said, “Jiang Chi, you’re so sensible, unlike our Gu Xiang. I called her for help and she felt that I was being troublesome. She even got angry at me.”

Jiang Chi recalled how angry Gu Xiang looked after her phone call that day. So it was because of this? He couldn’t help but glanced at Gu Xiang’s mother. Her friend’s husband was sick and she was able to come to the hospital to visit him in person. Yet, when Gu Xiang was sick, she had to come by herself.

When he asked Gu Xiang to call home, she had been reluctant to.

Gu Xiang’s mother asked, concerned, “By the way, Gu Xiang didn’t cause you any trouble, did she? She has a bad temper. You have to give in to her more.”

Jiang Chi answered, “She was sick a while ago. She is better now. If you have time, you should visit her.”

“Sick?” Gu Xiang’s mother was totally unaware of this. “Then I will give her a call later.”

“Alright.”

“I shall not bother you anymore!” Gu Xiang’s mother smiled at Jiang Chi. She was very satisfied with her son-in-law.

She walked over and several of her friends were waiting for her. They were all very curious. “Who is that young man?”

“My son-in-law,” Gu Xiang’s mother answered pridefully.

No matter what, Jiang Chi was a part of the Jiang family. He also had a say in things around the hospital. It made her feel very proud.

Jiang Chi looked at Gu Xiang’s mother and did not say anything. He let Qifeng lead them along and went back to work.

In the afternoon, Gu Xiang received a call from her mother.

Gu Xiang did not want to pick it up because they had spoken earlier but she still did in the end.

Her mother’s attitude seemed to have improved by quite a bit. “Jiang Chi said that you were sick, are you better now?”

“Jiang Chi?” Gu Xiang was rather surprised. “When did he tell you that?”

“I saw him at the hospital today! He’s really nice! He even got someone to help make arrangements for Aunt Wang’s husband issue. Even the hospitalization bills and whatnot were managed by his colleague. That son-in-law of mine is rather nice.”

Because of Jiang Chi, the anger she had for Gu Xiang also subsided.

Gu Xiang never thought that they would meet at the hospital and neither did she think that Jiang Chi would help her mother.

Doesn’t this person hate trouble?

Why didn’t he find her troublesome?
