Third Master Jiang’s Absolute Darling - Chapter 24

“Is he free tonight? Bring him back for a meal!”

“He is very busy.” Gu Xiang rejected her straight away.

She was rather unwilling to visit the Meng family herself, let alone bring Jiang Chi along with her.

She did not feel that the Meng family had let her down. She just felt… unhappy whenever she saw her mother pamper Meng Yan in front of her.

Her mother said, “Isn’t tomorrow a weekend? You can bring him over at night. He can stay at our house.”

“I can’t make decisions over how he uses his time,” Gu Xiang said, “If you don’t believe me, you can ask his family. They already said that the reason he remained single for so long is because he’s too busy with work to find himself a spouse.”

Upon hearing this, her mother remembered that Jiang Chi was indeed rather unapproachable. She answered, “Alright, alright! I actually have a friend whose husband is sick. Can you help me ask Jiang Chi to give him a diagnosis?”

Gu Xiang frowned and asked, “Which friend of yours has a sick husband?”

“Her last name is Wang. You’ve met her before. She came to our house a few days ago.”

“She is the Aunt who plays mahjong with you often, isn’t she?” Gu Xiang asked.”How many times have I told you to stay away from them?”

Gu Xiang had seen her mother’s mahjong friends before. Other than competing to see who was better, she really did not know what good she got out of those relationships.

Gu Xiang could guess that her mother only agreed to helping her friend look for Jiang Chi so that she could satisfy her vanity.

“So, are you going to agree? You should talk to Jiang Chi. After all, she is my friend. He can’t possibly turn a blind eye to this.”

“If she’s sick, she should go to the hospital. It’s not like there aren’t any doctors at the hospital. I can’t help you.” Jiang Chi had already made it clear that he hated hassles.

She would never look for him over something like this.

Upon hearing this, her mother was displeased. “Aunt Wang’s husband is sick. She is so pitiful. Just help me. This isn’t something difficult for Jiang Chi to do. Gu Xiang, why are you so cold-blooded just like your Dad?”

Gu Xiang realized that the words that her mother had repeated the most to her were that she was just like her father.

After hearing this, Gu Xiang laughed. “Mom, did you get something wrong? Do you remember why I had to marry Jiang Chi? I only married him because of our family’s situation. We need others’ help. Do you think he married me willingly? Have you thought about my position in the Jiang family? It has only been a few days and you have already asked for a favor just so you can satisfy your vanity.”

“Okay, okay, okay. If you are unwilling, forget it. If I asked Meng Yan she would definitely agree to something like this unlike you…”

When her mother finished speaking, she ended the call immediately. Looking at her phone, Gu Xiang was so angry that she laughed.

Yes!

Meng Yan was a sweet girl. She was so gentle. What was she compared to her? Bad tempered and cold-blooded. Of course, her mother would not like her!

After eating her breakfast, Gu Xiang went to the store. Although Jiang Chi had asked her to stay at home, all her belongings were there.

She had just reached the entrance when she saw Xia Wenxuan and Bai Wei. “Weiwei.”

Bai Wei had already moved all of her belongings out of their house and moved back to her home. The house had also been put up for sale. However, Xia Wenxuan did not have any intentions to give up.

The Bai family was rather well-to-do. He only managed to find a job at the hospital because Bai Wei’s father had pulled some strings. Now that the affair had happened, his future would be ruined.

There was no chance that he would do something like this.

Bai Wei said, “Why are you here? I don’t want to see you. Xia Wenxuan, you are so annoying!”
