There’s A Bug In Me - Chapter 48

“The NPCs are alive, and nothing happened to the village?”

“However, all the monsters in the wild have all gone.”

“The village was defended successfully? Could it be the doing of some crazy NPC?”

“Sigh, I wish I did not go offline. After wasting that much time, I did not even get good rewards from the mission.”

The players logged back in one by one. They were nervous while logging back in, scared that they would spawn in the middle of the monsters and get shredded to pieces.

However, they shockingly realized after logging in that the village was fine. On the other hand, not a single monster could be seen.

The monsters in “Evolution Island” would not be replaced once killed. This meant that the monsters that came to attack the village had all been killed.

This made many players regret their choices of getting offline. If they had not logged out, they would have been able to complete the mission of safeguarding the village and gotten enormous rewards. By right they should be advancing into the further stages of the game compared to other players, and not being left in the dust like that.

However, a rumor was spreading among the players.

“Brother Hua, somebody said that there was an NPC that joined the fight yesterday. The person who defended the village was a player, which killed all the monsters that were invading the village all by himself, and even soloed a giant BOSS that had a level higher than Level 10!”

In Black Knight Guild, a person reported to Hua Fei.

Hua Fei was the player who had spent 50,000 on buying the compass and wooden planks.

“Killing all of the monsters on his own? How could this be…where did this news come from?”

Hua Fei could not even continue speaking when someone around the guild interrupted him.

There should be a limit to how overpowered one can be. Even the experienced players in Homeland which had a high level could not have defended the village on their own and killed all of the berserker monsters!

“It was according to a player which did not log out last night. That player completed the mission to defend the village.”

“He’s definitely lying. No way in hell that could have happened!”

“I agree. He’s trying to get attention. This could not have been possible.”

The same news spread around the players’ communities, but nobody ever gave it a second thought.

It was simply too mind-blowing to be true.

“We cannot afford to be distracted by small matters like this. Get everyone to cut down trees and make boats at the NPC places, then sail to the nearest islands. There are no more monsters here. We must quickly get to other islands to train and level up!” Hua Fei said coldly, not being fazed by the news.

From his viewpoint, the most important thing for him to do would be to quickly get to other islands and level up quickly. If not, the low-level monsters would all be cleared, and they would have no chance of catching up.

The fact was that monsters that did not respawn were a specialty of “Evolution Island.” If they were falling behind, even if they did not get themselves killed, they would have a hard time catching up, and be forced to forfeit themselves.

This is why the competition was so fierce on Evolution Island. Everybody wanted to survive and get ahold of themselves at a new island, then quickly get to another island to get more advantages and resources there.

The majority of players also thought like Hua Fei. They all went to the carpenter to build their boats and marched towards the sea.

Also, battles between players happened too. After all, there were not any monsters left, but killing players also rewards good Evolution Energy points.

A lot of players who still did not belong to any team or guild were killed before they could even get to the sea.

“Praise the sun!”

Time had passed way too fast, and the sun was already starting to set.

Chen Bing looked at a huge piece of land far away, and he could not resist shouting.

It wasn’t easy coming this far!

After drifting on the sea for an entire day, Chen Bing wondered if he was actually lost, getting farther and farther away from the island.

While drifting on the sea, he even encountered all types of sea monsters. If not for the fact that he could change into Giant Jellyfish form, he would have died a long time ago.

The compass was not of much use. Chen Bing could only rely on the direction and location of the sun at Ogar Island and adjust his ship according to it to ensure that he was going on the right path.

Actually, this could only slightly guarantee the aggregate direction, and it could not replace the compass.

However, Chen Bing had to thank the sun above him for being able to find an island before the sun had set.

If not for the guidance of the sun, he would definitely still be lost.

There was a beach right in front of him. Chen Bing quickly rowed towards the beach.

He did not feel good after drifting on the sea for the entire day. Chen Bing could not wait to set foot on land again, feeling what was it like to set foot there.

“Hey, there’s a boat approaching.”

At the beach, a bunch of players were killing monsters when they saw a wooden boat that was heading their way.

A person spoke out and laughed while training to level up.

“Damn, this guy must be a real noob. He did not even run after seeing us, even rowing faster and faster towards us!”

However, to their surprise, the newbie did not have any intention of going another way. The boat rowed towards them at a fast pace.

“Even a small fry will still be meat. It’s his bad luck that he met us. Let’s teach this newbie a lesson, and make him grow out of his newbie status!”

One of the players stroked his dagger.

“Haha, saying stuff like that with such arrogance, Brother Qiang, you’re such a genius!”

The players around him laughed.

As the wooden boat approached, they acted as if they did not notice the boat coming. However, when the person on the boat got down from it, they immediately stopped killing monsters and rushed to besiege the player.

“Brother, leave the wooden boat and compass, and we’ll leave you alone… No, leave all your outfits and equipment too.” Brother Qiang walked towards the newbie in front of him and ordered that he comply.

Upon closer examination, Brother Qiang realized that the newbie seemed to have quite a good setup. It looked like fat prey.

“Brother, I’m sorry to say that I need the boat, compass, and equipment. However, I have a cool baby to show you. You guys come and see whether you would like it if I traded him in instead.”

Chen Bing laughed as he looked at the players in front of him.

He was quite moody after drifting on the ocean for the entire day. These people had a death wish for trying to rob him.

“Baby? Take him out; if it’s good stuff then we swear we won’t kill you!”

Brother Qiang and his gang’s eyes brightened. They could get him to expose his items first before killing him!

This guy probably had more valuables on him than they expected.

“Lightning cage!”

As the few people approached, Chen Bing reached out his hand and cast Lightning Cage.

Boom!

A loud thunder strike could be heard, and the players which were surrounded by it turned to dust.

Instantly, half of the players there died. After the lightning cage killed everyone inside it, it disappeared.

“This bastard… get him quick!”

The remaining seven to eight players were shocked by what they saw. One of them came to their senses and shouted loudly.

A few people rushed towards him and struck him with daggers, spears, and axes.

The players which were further away used bows and arrows to carry out ranged attacks.

However, none of the items had an effect on Chen Bing. There was no response from their attacks at all.

What the f*ck!

Who is this monster!?

The remaining players were shocked by what they saw.

Chen Bing smiled and took long strides towards them. With just one stab, all of them were insta-killed.
