There’s A Bug In Me - Chapter 46

“System: Warrior Slime has received ‘Hero Badge’!”

Amid the sound of thunder, another system notification popped up.

Chen Bing looked at what happened around him with a shocked expression.

What the f*ck! It was I who completed the missions, so why is Warrior Slime the one getting the rewards!?

‘Hero Badge’… an absolutely overpowered item!

“Equipment: Hero Badge”

“Type: Special Pet Equipment”

“Attributes: Increase pet’s attributes by 10%”

“Special effects: Heroic Aura”

“Heroic Aura: All effects of skills by pets increased. Chance of skill activation increased”

As he scanned through the attributes of the Hero Badge, Chen Bing could not help but be jealous of Warrior Slime.

This is not a Master level item anymore. This item’s in its own league!

Warrior Slime did not know it had gotten a piece of absolutely legendary equipment. As it was surrounded by the villagers and praised by them, it showed expressions of shyness and happiness.

“Hero, we thank you and your partner’s help! This Hero Badge was obtained when we happened to get a treasure box from deep in the sea, but we could not find a use for it, so we decided to give it to your partner!”

The old village chief congratulated them.

Did the old village chief do something wrong?

Of course not!

This time, 99% of the monsters who attacked the village were killed by Warrior Slime, and it was already revered by the villagers. It totally met the requirements and deserved to get the Hero Badge.

If it was any other player that defended the village by themself, they would not have gotten the reward either.

Even though the Hero Badge was obtained by the Warrior Slime, anything that was obtained by it belonged to him!

Getting the Hero Badge even exceeded Chen Bing’s expectations for this mission’s rewards.

The reason was simple. The Hero Badge could be brought back to Homeland by Warrior Slime!

Unlike players, pets had a special status back in Homeland.

As long as the players obtained a pet that could be placed in their pet slot, that pet could be brought back to Homeland and would not be recycled when they left the game.

Also due to the fact that different games had different mechanics and settings, the attributes for pets would be reset to a state before entering a game, just like players after returning to Homeland.

However, as long as it did not concern leveling up and the mechanics of that particular game, any upgrades to a pet would be retained when going back to Homeland.

For example, the Roar skill and Wood Reinforcement skill that Warrior Slime obtained when it leveled up to Level 10 would not be retained when it returned to Homeland.

However, equipment like the Hero Badge could be brought back to Homeland

This time, the rewards were all given out. Chen Bing came out from the village chief’s cottage.

The players at the village probably went somewhere to receive awards. Chen Bing could not have cared less.

It was a game about killing each other. It did not help to be too friendly with each other at all.

“Let’s find the carpenter to build a boat!”

Chen Bing thought about it and walked towards the village carpenter’s place.

He could not get anything more here, so it would be better if he got to Black Crow Island as soon as possible.

“Ah hero, here you are. Want to build a boat?”

All the players had logged out and there was no one at the carpenter’s workshop. As Chen Bing walked towards him, the carpenter took the initiative and greeted him.

“Yes. Please help me make a boat with these 20 wooden planks.”

For the key locations, 5 wooden planks would be enough.

However, building a small boat required 20 wooden planks.

Chen Bing wanted to build a boat fully made out of mutated ironwood.

“No problem. However, these wooden planks are quite tough; I need 3 hours to finish building it. After 3 hours, please go to the port at the north side beach and get the boat from my apprentice,” the carpenter said while receiving the wooden planks.

“Alright.”

3 hours was not a long time. The monsters in the wild were all killed without a single one left. Chen Bing did not try to kill monsters to kill time. Instead, he went to an inn in the village.

Players could rest and recover spiritual energy at the inn.

In theory, players could play the game without needing sleep or rest. However, as time passed, the players would feel their concentration fading and their attention becoming less sharp.

“Hero, how long do you want to rest? I will let you in here for free for as long as you want!”

Chen Bing had maxed out his likeability with the villagers. As he reached the inn, the innkeeper greeted him and told him that he could stay there for free.

“3 hours is good enough.”

Chen Bing nodded.

Huh, looks like the two appreciation certificates have some use after all.

After 3 hours, the boat was ready. Chen Bing headed straight for the port at the northern side of the village.

There was a wooden cottage at the port, and beside the cottage, there was a young villager.

“Dear Hero, do you really want to set sail now? There will be a lot of unknown dangers if you sail at night on the ocean. I recommend you set sail during the day instead of at night.” The teen tried to convince Chen Bing.

“It’s fine. I can manage it.”

Chen Bing laughed it off.

With his new Giant Jellyfish form, he could even live in the ocean if he wanted to. Sailing through the night would be a piece of cake for him.

Even more so, the ship was made completely with mutated ironwood which had a glossy dark and metallic look to it. Not even thunderstorms could destroy this ship.

“Well, hero, be careful on your journey.”

The teen did not try to convince him further. Chen Bing brought Warrior Slime and got on the wooden ship, following the compass and setting sail towards Black Crow Island.

It was the first time Warrior Slime had been on a ship. The ship swayed and bobbed on the surface of the sea, but the Warrior Slime was not a bit afraid. It jumped around curiously on the ship, its black eyes looking at the water’s currents on the sea surface.

“Black Crown Island shouldn’t be far. If there’s nothing out of the ordinary, we should be arriving in 3 hours.”

A 3-hour journey was not considered very far. Chen Bing believed that he could reach it very quickly.

“Damn, are we that unlucky to encounter a thunderstorm?”

However, after an hour, Chen Bing felt the air around the sea start to chill rapidly.

This seemed like a sign of a thunderstorm.

When a thunderstorm came, the temperature of the surface of the sea would decrease drastically.

Boom!

Very quickly, thunder sounded and the surface of the sea became very rough.

The Warrior Slime started showing signs of uneasiness.

He felt danger incoming.

However, Chen Bing was not moved.

The scale of the thunderstorm was not that big, so it would not be able to destroy the wooden ship; it could only slow it down at best.

Boom!

Bolt after bolt of lightning struck from the clouds, and Chen Bing’s wooden ship tossed and turned around on the sea surface.

A giant wave followed and the ship was pushed to the highest point of the sea level. Chen Bing realized something was not right.

Under the shine of bright lightning, Chen Bing realized that his surroundings were split into a large cube. The entire sea was being ripped apart by some magical force.

“What the hell is this? Even a thunderstorm would not have turned the sea like that!”

Chen Bing was speechless as he saw what happened.

The waves were rough, however, the crack in the ocean did not have any signs of repairing itself, still maintaining the surface of the sea in a large cube-like shape.

There was no such encounter of such a sea surface. Did the game … get another bug?
