The Villain Family’s New Daughter-In-Law - Chapter 33

Chapter 33

‘What’s happening?’

It was like that feeling. She felt something familiar just before Luciel first awoke the power of the jewel.

”I think it’s a change that occurred after meeting Kizef.

When I encountered him, my heart was pounding as if it were ringing.

Perhaps because of past ties, awakening seemed to have come sooner. I don’t know when it’ll be. I need to learn more magic before awakening.

That way she would be able to protect herself when she starts to make jewelry.

As I rolled my eyes nervously, Rose came in and handed me the waiting list.

“Look at this. There are people who want to meet the Little Madam…….”

After the news of the engagement became known, everyone now called Luciel as ‘Little Madam’. Luciel was surprised to see the waiting list Rose handed her, and her heart started to beat again, but she also thought she should go to see Gillard first.

“Rose, I’m sorry. I need to go see Grandfather

now.”

Gillard was deliberately not visiting Luciel because he was afraid she might be tired.

“Ah, then I’ll dress you up.”

At Bessie’s words, Luciel shook her head.

“No, I’m in a hurry!”

“Little Madam, it’ll take only a moment!”

Bessie called for Luciel, who was running with all her might in a sky blue pajama, but the child had already run away.

“What happened to our baby?”

Rose crept up and smiled gently at Bessie, saying, “You really don’t know.”.

“Bessie, can’t you tell just by seeing it? It’s because she met Young Master Kizef. It must have been the first meeting of the two. Oh, they’re such a lovely couple!”

“…I don’t think so.”

“No, this is the answer! She fell in love.”

Rose held hands together and let her imagination run wild. She started dating a gardener and these days the whole world is looking pink. Bessie shook her head, because little Luciel was still too young to know love,

Luciel, who burst open Gillard’s door, breathed heavily.

“Grandpa!”

“…Luciel? You must be tired after coming back from the capital city, but why are you up already without taking a nap?””

“Grandpa, Grandpa. I need to learn magic quickly.”

“Luciel, what does that mean?”

“I can’t wait to be good at magic.””

“Did you come running as soon as you woke

up?”

“Yes.”

Gillard, who saw the child in her pajamas, stroked Luciel’s head as if he was proud of her.

“How much you wanted to learn magic…”

He took a light sky blue shawl out of the closet.

“Well, first of all, put this on.”

It was a sudden request, but Gillard was also waiting for the class, so he pretended to not win against her as he put a shawl around Luciel and started the class right away.

“Alright, Luciel. Then let’s start with mana training.”

Sweat formed on Luciel’s forehead, who made a lot of drops in the room. Gillard, who was looking at the transparent mana drop, was amazed.

No matter how you look at it, it was such a pure mana. He was very much looking forward to the day when Luciel would manifest her attribute.

“Magic consumes condensed mana and combines it with the power of nature to produce new results.”

“The power of nature?”

“Water, fire, soil, and wind that make up this world. These four elements are representative

of the power of nature. Of course, there are also magic without properties.”

Luciel opened her eyes wide and pricked up her ears to listen well, as if not to miss a single thing. She also occasionally took notes.

Gillard smiled and instantly lit up a bright light on his hand. The child’s eyes shone brightly.

“If you become a wizard of high circles, you can run this simple magic just by thinking about it.”

“Amazing.”

“It’s about accurately memorizing the magic formula in your head while concentrating your mind and implementing the magic wand. Some also shout out the starting words or draw magic circles.

“Oh, this. It’s kind of similar to making jewelry in the past!’

Luciel became more confident in magic.

Gillard handed Luciel an ordinary wand for practice.

“Take this.”

“Yes.”

It was a shapeless stick, but simple bolt magic was stored, so it was easy to express magic by recalling the formula and gathering mana. Because of that, there were people who only went through magic practice and misunderstood that they could really express magic easily.

However, it was real from the moment she held the wand.

Luciel’s expectations swelled with the imagination of doing strong magic with the wand. Her heart was pounding.

”I think I can do well. No, I’ll do just fine. I’m going to be strong.’

I was happy that I was getting closer to my goal of becoming stronger. “Okay. Let’s go outside then. To the training center.”

There was a scarecrow doll made of rice straw in the training center where Gillard led Luciel. He even hung dolls in the air. It seemed like it would be a good place to use magic to one’s heart’s content.

“Now, bring mana together, concentrate, and memorize the spell formula I told you earlier in your head, after that collect the mana with the wand.”

“Yes!”

“Finally, saying the starting words of Magic Bolt’ quickly evokes a magic spell. Can you do it?”

“Yes.”

Luciel proceeded calmly as he told her.

Shuuu.

Luciel pursed her lips, concentrating on gathering the mana. Maybe it’s because of all the mana, her heart seemed to pound even more.

It feels like something is constantly tapping Luciel’s small heart….. At the same time, she recollected the magic formula and tried to channel the mana into the wand she was holding.

However, it was her first time, so she kept moving her hands because it was awkward, and the mana that had been connected was cut off.

‘Oh, I can’t move.’

Let’s not move this time, not even after saying the start word.

Gillard watched Luciel silently without making any noise so that she could trigger magic without haste.

And this time…….

“Magic bolt.”

A small chunk of light was created at the end of Luciel’s wand. This time it seemed to have been a successful casting.

“Grandpa! Have you seen it?”

Luciel exclaimed in amazement. Gillard said.

“You did it, Luciel. You did pretty well for the first time. Now that I’ve taught you the basic trick, all you have left is practice. And keep in mind that what’s contained in that wand is not really the attribute you’ve expressed.”

Saying that, Gillard gave an assignment.

“Be sure to learn how to cast Magic Bolt and the other two spells until next time.”

“Yes, Grandpa.”

Gillard gave two more wands of different colors. One was blue and the other, a red one.

“Good job.”

But he didn’t tell her the trigger for the magic formula. Perhaps it meant that Luciel had to find out for herself. Looking at the colors of the wands, it seemed to be an ice bolt and a fire bolt. It was not such a difficult task, as the trigger for the Magic bolt could be used as base.

Watching Luciel shine with sparkling eyes, Gillard shook his head.

‘She’s definitely progressing fast. But I wonder if she can solve the next task well.’

“See you next time, Luciel. Oh, come to think of it, it’s time to eat snacks.”

“No, I’m going to practice instead of snacks today.”

“Okay. See you at the castle.”

“Yes!”

While greeting Gillard, Luciel only thought of the assignment. Ice bolts and fire bolts would be easy answers, but somehow it felt too easy. ‘The next class is in three days.’

After perfectly activating the Magic Bolt, today’s class was completed, but Luciel stayed at the training center alone and continued to practice.

How many hours did I do it over and over again?

After more than a hundred repetitions, her legs relaxed and she was out of breath. The overflowing mana was also almost used to it’s last drop.

“No, one last time!”

A magic bolt shot from the end of the wand, and hit the scarecrow.

“It’s hard.”

Grandpa didn’t give me the task of hitting the scarecrows, but I wanted to make it perfect if possible. But now it seemed like I couldn’t do it anymore. My magic was exhausted, and I was hungry. Someone approached Luciel, who had just sat on the floor to rest. It was Bessie who wrapped Luciel with the robe she had brought.

“I was worried because the Elder Master told me you went outside in thin pajamas. Aren’t you cold?”

Luciel’s eyes widened with a worried face. She thanked and apologized to Bessie, who would have rolled her feet with concern for her. She had never experienced it before, since Luciel had never gone around in pajamas.

The light fleece cloak wrapped around her was warm and soft. She had had a hard time until just a second ago, but it seemed the mana that had gathered in her heart was restored like flowing water. Luciel shook her head gently.

“It was not cold because grandfather lent me this shawl. Rather, I was so hot that I was sweating. Look.”

Luciel pointed to her forehead. A fresh wind blew and the sweat was almost dry. Bessie said with a laugh.

“After you sweat, the wind blows and you might catch a cold. My sweetheart, I don’t want you to get sick.”

“It’s not that much. Thanks for your concern.”

“Do you know what I was worried about?”

“Yes. Bessie is just like a mother.”

At Luciel’s inadvertent words, Bessie smiled brightly and hugged her tightly. Every time Bessie saw Luciel, her heart sank. She was still a little child who would still be fooling around in her mother’s and her father’s arms for a long time.

It must have been that she did not receive proper care or love from the Count. So she seemed to lack the love she now receives from the people in the Duke’s.

“My dear.” “Yes?”

“If you need a mother, I’ll be a mother, and if you need a sister, I’ll be a sister. I want you to grow up like a child should.”
