The Vampire’s Love for Mankind - Chapter 38

The car drove all the way back to Ansir’s forested villa.

Actually, I was a little surprised. I had already said those words, so it should be a great offense to Ansir. Even an ordinary vampire would probably not be able to take such an offense from a human.

Of course, I didn’t mean that they were more noble than humans to begin with. It was just that for a long time, the area meant for the coexistence of vampires and humans always had this kind of hierarchical atmosphere. I could be considered an anomaly that deserved to be executed.

Why did Ansir want me to come back here? Did he come up with a better plan?

While I was still standing there in a daze, the driver had already driven the car to the garage. I stood there, unsure if I should enter this ‘Devil’s Den’ again.

At this moment, there was the sound of a sports car engine. Ansir parked the car next to me and got out..

I subconsciously took a step back. Since he was coming back, why did he have to go to the trouble of asking the driver to send me back?

Ansir seemed to see my misgivings. “The way you were just now, you would probably rather die than to come back with my car. So I found someone to pick you up.”

“…” Although I was still looking at him with a vigilant expression, I had a feeling that… he was being concerned with my emotions.

Pui! How could Ansir care about other people’s feelings?

He was an overbearing, unreasonable demon king who liked to see others submit to him!

Ansir ignored my silence and resumed his usual commanding tone. “Come in.”

Then he added, “You can also choose to be the bears’ food in the forest.”

I glanced at the endless woods behind me, but I still caught up with him. “If you have something to say to me, please make it clear as soon as possible. I want to get out of here.”

But Ansir ignored me and just kept walking.

Ansir brought me into the villa. The butler, who had been waiting by the side, saw him and immediately came forward to greet him. He bowed to Ansir.

Ansir nodded slightly and asked calmly, “Is everything ready?”

The butler nodded and answered, “The room is ready.”

Ansir narrowed his eyes at that. “Lead the way.” He looked sideways at me. “Follow.”

I followed him in bewilderment. Since I couldn’t escape from Ansir’s claws, I might as well follow his advice and see what he wanted to do first.

The butler led Ansir and me up the spiral staircase to the second floor. This time, we weren’t going to the room at the end of the corridor. Instead, we stopped in front of the first room.

Then the butler gestured to me and Ansir.

Ansir turned back to me and motioned me over.

I hesitated before I reached his side and stood with him. A strange feeling crept up inside me.

This environment reminded me of what happened last night… My face burned red.

“Open the door and go in.” Seeing that I didn’t move, Ansir clicked his tongue impatiently. His expression was cold and hard, and his tone was unpleasant. “I told you, it’s not a prank, not a prank.”

I frowned and, urged on by Ansir’s eyes, walked to the door of the room. The handle that held the door turned and opened it.

What greeted my eyes was a clean and cozy bedroom.

I took a step forward with my doubts. I didn’t understand why Ansir had brought me here, but I had to admit that although the bedroom wasn’t very large, it was beautiful.

The white plush carpet was laid neatly on the floor. When I looked up, I could see a window. The silk curtains were drawn to one side, and outside the window was a vast and fresh scenery.

There was a large bed beside the window sill. The bed was covered with a clean and soft quilt, and the mosquito net made of chiffon gauze was draped down from the top of the bed. It fluttered gently in the breeze blowing in from the window.

Next to the bed was a set of white bedside tables. On the counter were two lampshades made of chiffon gauze that emitted a faint yellow light. On the opposite side of the bed was a white dressing table. On the side of the dressing table was a closet leaning against the wall.

On the other side of the room was a desk and a small bookshelf. There were all kinds of reading materials on the bookshelf, as well as a set of books with complete configurations on the desk.

For a moment I thought I was dreaming.

Ever since Grandpa passed away, I had always been a character that was neglected. I had to accept any role that was assigned to me.

I didn’t get much good sleep either. Even in the luxurious atmosphere of the school, I didn’t feel comfortable or at ease.

But this room, with its gentle colors, gave me a sense of peace I’d never felt before.

It’s like I’d come to the little world I’d always looked forward to having, warm and comfortable.

Seeing that I didn’t move, Ansir slowly walked to my side and glanced at me. When he saw my stunned expression, he raised his eyebrows slightly.

His voice was his usual cold, condescending tone, but I thought I detected a rare tenderness. “Do you like it?”

“…” I looked around the room and nodded subconsciously. “I like it. It’s beautiful.”

Ansir raised an eyebrow and said, “Since you like it, you can stay here in the future.”
