The Vampire’s Love for Mankind - Chapter 10

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

After dessert, Elvin walked me back to my dorm. To avoid causing a commotion, we only took a secluded path.

Before leaving, Elvin ruffled my hair again. “Little one, I can’t help you with the rest. I hope you can face it yourself and grow up.”

I nodded vigorously, my eyes beginning to glow faintly.

It had been a long time since anyone had made me feel so secure and safe since my grandfather had left. Elvin was like a lamp placed before me, illuminating the darkness and chasing away the loneliness.

However, there was another voice in my heart that was clamoring. Elvin was a vampire of noble ranking. He only felt sympathy for me!

At this thought, my eyes dimmed as I returned to my dorm..

Because of our previous argument, Georgina moved out of the dorm. I didn’t have a new roommate, so I was finally able to get some peace and sleep.

The next day, I finally officially started class.

However, as soon as I stepped into the classroom, the noisy classroom instantly became quiet and everyone turned to look at me.

“Oh my god! She’s actually still alive!”

They were impressed that I could appear unscathed.

Because I’d made a move on Ansir in the Room of the Undead, perhaps they thought that Ansir would kill me.

Ignoring them, I walked straight to my seat and sat down, thinking that as long as I didn’t respond, their enthusiasm for gossip would diminish.

However, accidents always came so unexpectedly.

A girl with long brown hair fixed her gaze on me. She walked up to me and roared hysterically, “You despicable thing! How dare you attack Prince Ansir and appear in class as if nothing happened?!”

Several other Ansir fans also surrounded me. “You’re just the daughter of an ordinary officer with a lowly status. You actually dared to harm Prince Ansir. This is unforgivable!”

Thinking of Elvin’s words of encouragement, I heaved a sigh of relief. “It was President Ansir who wronged me first. He was also the one who wanted to act as an evil spirit to scare me. I wasn’t wrong about this.”

“Shut up! Don’t slander Prince Ansir!”

All the girls in the class were Ansir’s fanatical admirers. In their eyes, Ansir was God. God would not make mistakes.

Their anger has burned to madness. They begin to pour my books out of my bag, splash black ink on them, and stomp wildly with their feet.

The school rules prohibited students from fighting each other, so although they wanted to kill me, they were afraid of being sent to the disciplinary department’s reflection room, so they could only vent their anger in this way.

After they started, all the girls in the class went crazy.

Someone pretended to accidentally push me over. My desk and chair were overturned by them and smashed everywhere. The desk was destroyed and the chair legs were crooked.

The ground was covered in black and red ink, and I was covered in ink.

I stood in the middle of their encirclement, like a small island isolated by the raging waves. I clenched my fists tightly, biting my lower lip so hard that it almost bled, but in the end, I only silently looked at the mess.

I remembered Grandpa’s words. “In a situation where you have no chance of winning, don’t fight head-on. You have to be flexible.”

I knew that in this hierarchical atmosphere of awareness and blind worship, all conflicts would eventually become my crime.

This was Rockefeller’s inferiority.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened them again, I had made up my mind.

I didn’t confront them directly. After they vented their anger, I went to borrow repair tools to repair the broken tables and chairs.

Grandpa had been very diligent and simple all his life. He wouldn’t just throw away the broken things he used, but instead find a way to fix them. So, I learned a lot of fixing skills from Grandpa. I could handle this level of damage myself.

After I was done, I painted the table black to cover the mottled spots.

Then, I went to the teacher and bought a new set of textbooks. Fortunately, Noble was quite generous when it came to money. I had more than enough money on me.

I thought that my low profile would bring me peace, but I didn’t expect that my tolerance would make the class think that I was weak.

The ridicule and insults were getting worse. They looked forward to me breaking down and crying. My calmness seemed to be a provocation to them.

Seeing that they were furious but didn’t dare to attack me, I felt much better.

When school finally ended, my deskmate, Qi Na, suddenly caught up to me. “Cecily!”

She was the only person who hadn’t hurt me in the course of the lesson.

I stopped and looked at her a little strangely. “What is it?”

Qi Na’s delicate face was flushed red, and there were stars in her eyes. “I just wanted to say that you’re so brave. I admire you very much. Unfortunately, I’m too weak. I didn’t even dare to speak up for you just now.”

Qi Na thought about it and added anxiously, “Also, don’t mind their words. They’re just jealous of you.”

“Jealous?”

“That’s right. They’re jealous that you were able to meet two influential figures in the school within a day, and even have such close contact with Prince Ansir. There are many people in the school who might not even have the honor to meet them even after three years!”
