The Tycoon God of Online Gaming - Chapter 9

The enormous white sac spider had been defeated. Chu You bent down. Only a tiny bit of his health was left and he could no longer take any more damage.

Nevertheless, that bloody and violent way of battling stirred Chu You’s emotions, causing him to face difficulty in regaining his composure.

Although the sharp edges in his personality had been smoothed out to a great extent, the seeds of violence still ran in his blood, which impacted Chu You’s character profoundly.

He glanced at the dead body on the ground and realized that a faint light was radiating from the carcass. This implied that items could burst out of the carcass because dead bodies with no items would tend to disappear quickly.

Unlike the outfield situation, one could directly search and obtain a copy of the gear from the carcass, which thrilled him and made him anticipate what was going to happen next. This is because in outfield mode, the item would directly pop out from the dead body and land on the ground, allowing the player to have a clear picture of what it was, yet also making the situation more risky!

Especially when players fought the BOSS in outfield mode, various gear would pop out once the BOSS had been killed. Under such a situation, all players who were present would appear so desperate to obtain the gear that their eyes would turn red almost as if they had starved for 8 or 9 days.

“It can’t possibly be a mission item right?” Chu You felt a sense of numbness in his heart. Disregarding the fact that he was in outfield mode, even after killing so many elite monsters just now, he still hadn’t seen the one equipped with the weirdest of gear, the least of the pop-out items, and the worst of poor personalities.

Chu You kneeled down and touched the corpse. Immediately, a box popped out. Inside, a few pieces of gear appeared in front of his eyes.

A thought fleeted through Chu You’s mind. He had found a skill book, but it was just that he did not know which particular profession the skill book was for.

Chu You took out the first piece of gear.

Name: Tattered Breastplate

Level: Ordinary

Requirement: Warrior Occupation. Level 5.

Attributes: Defense +3

Chu You took out the second piece of gear.

Name: The ring of the White Sac Spider

Level: Green Vessel

Requirement: All Professions. Level 5.

Attributes: Attack Power +5, Magic Value +20, Stamina +1, Hit +1

Chu You took out the third piece of gear, which was the skill book.

Name: Accelerated Healing (Healing can be performed quickly within one second. Healing effect basis +100 health combined with the attributes of the healer giving the final healing power)

Attributes: First Order Skill (The highest being the ninth level)

Requirement: Priest Profession. Level 5.

There were only these three types of gear. It seemed like it wasn’t that bad afterall. The Green Vessel level ring had pretty good attributes. But the main thing was that it was a decorative item. In the early part of the game, it was extremely difficult for decorative items to be lost. Hence, they could be worn for a sustained period of time. Thinking of this gave Chu You some sense of satisfaction.

As to the Skill Book, although it was for the Priest Occupation, Chu You did not feel disappointed because that skill book could be used by any priest. In other words, regardless of which expertise a priest player had chosen to change to, he or she could use and learn from this skill book.

General Skill books were the hardest to get, because anyone within the same profession, regardless of their specific expertise, could use and learn it, making it hard to obtain and thus extremely valuable. Of course, if the player were to sell to a NPC, it would probably be worth as little as one silver credit.

There were four ways to obtain skill books. The first was through the bursting out of skill books after slaying monsters. The second was obtaining skill books as a mission reward. The third was through internal trade between players. The fourth was to bid for it during an auction. There wasn’t a fifth possibility. In Heaven, none of the major cities sold skill books.

A short while later, Chu You took out the final object, the Mission Item.

Name: Perfect blue magic flower x 2 (Two flowers)

Item description: It is a type of medicine that the old Herbal Medicine Harvester loves greatly. If one gave this item to this kind old man, he or she would receive significant returns.

After seeing that, anticipation started to build up within Chu You’s heart. He had longed so much to change his occupation quickly.

Thereafter, Chu You looked towards the cave. Within it, there was a treasure chest that was waiting to be opened by him.

After all the gear had been removed from the dead body, the enormous spider body gradually disappeared.

Chu You entered into the cave. The slowing down effect on his movement was still present. Finally, Chu You stopped in front of the treasure chest which was radiating light. He then chose to open it and both of his arms automatically extended outwards.

System reminder: Green Vessel Treasure Chest is opening, progress … 10%…21%…56%…79%…93%,Successfully opened.

After two minutes of opening progress, the Green Vessel treasure chest started to shake and wobble. The lid of the chest had opened and light rays radiated and faded out.

Immediately, Chu You retrieved the gear stored within.

Name: Sword of Purity

Level: Green Vessel Level

Requirement: Warrior or Assassin Profession. Level 5.

Attributes: Attack Power 11-17. Power +3, Critical Hit +5, Deadly Hit +2.

Wow, this was good stuff. Chu You was delighted. He felt that after he leveled up to level 5, it would be a small turning point.

Obtained Silver Credit +10.

Obtained Trace Healing Potion x 10. (10 drops worth of health recovery every 3 seconds, for a continuous period of 25 seconds)

Chu You immediately consumed one bottle worth of Trace Healing Potion, and walked towards the road where he had come from. He wanted to completely eliminate all the remaining White Sag Spiders, leaving none alive.

Very quickly, Chu You eliminated all the enemies blocking his way using the same battle techniques and finally chose to leave the instance dungeon.

Weak rays of light started to radiate from Chu You’s body and eventually disappeared into the empty instance dungeon.

Since Chu You had adapted to the dark environment, he started to squint his eyes a little when he appeared under the bright sunlight all of a sudden.

Thereafter, Chu You discovered that in front of him, 2 players appeared to be conversing with the Old Herbal Medicine Harvester. They did not sense Chu You’s presence at all. The Old Herbal Medicine Harvester seemed to have completed his business. He shook his head while waving his hand as if he was rejecting something.

Both of these players were only at Level 1, yet they had the audacity to come to the Level 4 Experience Arena. One of them was a priest while the other was a mage, and both were from the spell master profession.

Chu You took a step forward and walked towards the elder. He was here to submit his mission.

Only then did the two players discover Chu You. But when they saw that Chu You was already at level 3, they felt slightly shocked. It hadn’t been long since the game started and there was already someone who had reached level 3? Neither of them considered their progress to be slow. Even though they were a team, and each of them only had half the experience, their efficiency was still pretty good.

Unexpectedly, someone from the warrior class had exceeded them by two levels; how was that even possible?

Ignoring the puzzlement and confusion of both of them, Chu You came to the Old Herbal Medicine Harvester.

“Elder, I have brought the item you want,” said Chu You.

“Oh really? Quickly take it out and let me have a look.” The elder’s eyes appeared somewhat emotional.

The two players at the side exchanged glances with each other. From each other’s eyes, they could see how shocked they were.

Regardless of how hard they had tried, they were unable to obtain information on the elder’s mission. The elder had persistently insisted that there was nothing he could divulge, but now… Seeing how the elder treated this tall and proficient player, and comparing it to how the elder had treated them both, they could tell the complete change in the elder’s attitude.

Was that the only mission? Both players continued to guess and speculate. They did not leave. Instead, they silently observed what was happening.

From his space bag, Chu You took out two Perfect Blue Magic Flowers and passed them to the Old Herbal Medicine Harvester.

When Chu You took out the flowers, the Elder became completely, uncontrollably emotional. His body started to tremble. With his trembling hands, he received the Perfect Blue Magic Flowers from Chu You’s hands.

“Young hero, did you obtain this from the secret and inaccessible land of mystery?”

“Yes indeed, I thought that this was the item that you wanted most.” Chu You tried to express himself in the nicest way possible. In assignment conversation mode, winning the heart of the NPC by leaving a good impression could sometimes result in an unexpected surprise.

“Yes, it really is… This is what I wanted the most. You definitely sacrificed a lot to get this. That place is literally an inaccessible place of mystery,” the elder said with overflowing gratitude and a tinge of guilt as he stroked the Blue Magic flower in his hand.

See, even you know that that place is literally an inaccessible place of mystery, doesn’t that mean you should reward this young hero well?

Chu You lowered his head and chuckled, without answering the elder. From his eyes, one could tell that he had gone through lots of troubles and difficulties that an ordinary individual could barely imagine. Everything that had to be conveyed was all understood through the silence.

“Right, right, right!” the elder exclaimed while nodding. Keeping the mission item, he retrieved a book from his pouch and passed it to Chu You. “This is the most precious treasure in my family lineage. My great grandfather managed to reach the stage of superior general through practicing this manual. Now I will give this manual to you!”

It was a skill book! The players at the side nearly yelled. With a single glance, they had recognized that the manual was in fact a skill book, and one could see the disbelief in their eyes.

What kind of missions would reward a skill book! It was literally such an unbelievably great opportunity!

Chu You squinted his eyes. He was shocked. He slowly extended his arms and received the skill book.

System reminder: You have obtained the mission reward (Skill Book): Execution!

System reminder: You have received the mission reward of 4000 experience points!

System reminder: Congratulations on levelling up!

A bright ray of light radiated from Chu You’s body. This was the supernatural phenomenon that would occur when one levelled up. Now Chu You had reached Level 4!

Oh my God! The two players standing at the side were completely shocked. Just by completing one assignment, Chu You had leveled up right away! Previously, they had already been awed by the fact that Chu You had reached level 3. Now, Chu You had simply reached the extent of defying Heaven’s will!

At that moment, the elder once again retrieved an object from his pouch and passed it to Chu You. This time, it was an envelope. “Young hero, after you have changed your profession, go to Wangshan City and find Captain Zhao. I’m sure Captain Zhao will thank you for your help. Here, this is the introductory letter.”

“I see, so you were trying to cure Captain Zhao’s sickness.” Chu You received the Introductory Letter, knowing that it would trigger a mission, to find that man after he had changed his profession.

“Yes indeed,” he sighed. “Captain Zhao is an upright and principled man. Unfortunately, he was poisoned by others secretly, which resulted in his movement becoming impaired. Young Hero, you seem like an extraordinary person, hopefully you can become an important assistant to him.”

“Alright, I will try to meet him as fast as I can. ”

“Sigh, based on my astrological predictions, potential chaos is about to erupt, though it remains inevident at this point in time. This is troubling the Great Yan Kingdom, and the imperial Court is filled with disloyal ministers and officials. This is such an inauspicious sign… ” Having said that, the elder turned away and disappeared into thin air.

Then, out of curiosity, Chu You retrieved the skill book and took a good look at it.

Name: Execution (Within the radius of 10 meters, magic value can be reduced by 100, and a critical attack can be launched at the target. If the target has a health lower than 300, the target will be executed and die immediately. If the target has a health above 300, it will lose 200 of its health and be frozen for 3 minutes

Familiarity: 0/1000. Once familiarity is maxed out, it will level up. This will strengthen the power of this technique.

Attributes: Third Order Skill (The highest being Ninth Order Skill)

Requirement: All Warriors can practice this once they have reached level 5.

Chu You glanced at his magic value. Because his wisdom had not increased, his magic value remained at the initial increase

He had just levelled up and still required 5 additional freedom points. Chu You thought for a while. Once he had reached Level 5, by wearing the ring, he would be able to gain 20 Magic value points, and another 10 Magic points because of levelling up. That would make it 130 Magic value points. This skill cooled down pretty quickly, and it would be better to add it to wisdom.

As such, Chu You added it all to wisdom, and his magic value increased by 75 points, including the attributes which added 15 magic points. Now Chu You’s magic value points had reached 175, and his attack power had reached 54. This was resulting from the levelling up and increase of his power attributes by 2 points.
