“I know you are picking on Tianzhen because I like her. Xia Wei’an, I’m telling you solemnly that I don’t like you. Even if you retain for me and are smitten with me, I still don’t fancy you! I also want you to apologize to Tianzhen and promise that you will never bully her again!”

If he couldn’t protect his woman, how could he be considered a man!?! After saying that, Gu Chenyang immediately felt tall and protective.

“So you like Xia Tianzhen!”

Xia Wei’an pretended to be surprised, but before Gu Chenyang could reply, she smiled and nodded. “Good, you two are good-looking and are a perfect match for each other. You have my blessings! If there’s nothing else, get lost. I have to start studying!”

She was too busy to waste her precious time on those punks.

“Xia Wei’an, you’re asking to be dealt with the hard way. If you don’t apologize to Tianzhen now, I will beat you up the same way you beat Tianzhen!”

Xia Wei’an exclaimed with raised brows, “You want me to apologize? Dream on!”

“You…” Gu Chenyang was the heir of the Gu family who grew up being pampered by his family, and so, he hadn’t been provoked in such a manner before. He immediately raised his hand and tried to slap Xia Wei’an.

Xia Wei’an clenched her fists tightly and her knuckles popped. She wasn’t even afraid to fight at all!

“Chenyang, don’t do this, I told you, Wei’an didn’t mean to hit me. It’s all my fault for upsetting her!”

The sobbing pretentious Xia Tianzhen appeared in a timely manner and shielded Xia Wei’an. Keeping her back to Xia Wei’an, she pulled Gu Chenyang’s arm with her weak hand, acting as if she was afraid that he would hurt Xia Wei’an. She was bawling badly, and she immediately won everyone’s sympathy.

Gu Chenyang held onto Xia Tianzhen’s shoulder and said in a gentle voice, “Tianzhen, you’re always so kindhearted, that’s why you gave others the chance to harm you.”

Hearing his words, Xia Wei’an got goosebumps and was so disgusted that she felt like vomiting. She had always been straightforward, so she simply hollered, “Are you going to hit me or not? If not, get lost!”

Gu Chenyang was about to lose his temper, but then, the bell for class started ringing. He had no choice but to hold onto Xia Tianzhen’s hand and return to the first row where his seat was. Before leaving, he even glared at her, as if to tell her, “See you at the field after school.”

The last class in the morning was Mr. Geng’s Math class. Due to the fact that he was usually very strict, no one dared to violate the rules during his class, but today, a student in the last row suddenly raised her hand high when he was passionately explaining the topic on the podium.

Mr. Geng held onto the thick-lens glasses resting on his nose bridge. Seeing that it was Xia Wei’an, he thought that she wanted to leave and go to the toilet, so he waved his hand without stopping the explanation, gesturing for her to leave quietly without affecting the other students.

However, Xia Wei’an immediately stood up from her seat and said loudly, “Mr. Geng, I have something to say!”

Having been interrupted, Mr. Geng had no choice but to stop and stare at Xia Wei’an with displeasure. “You better have a good reason for interrupting my lecture. Otherwise, you’ll copy your math textbook as punishment!”

“Mr. Geng, I saw some beggars in tattered clothes on the streets that day. They’re able-bodied, but they choose not to work and provide for themselves. I couldn’t understand why, so I started debating with them, and only then did I realize that they can’t get a job because they’re lowly educated, and hence, they resorted to begging. For the sake of motivating myself, I’d like to get you to testify. I want to challenge our vice class chairman and surpass her in the upcoming mock test!”
