The Richest Girl Just Started Kindergarten - Chapter 34

Child Labor and Child Trafficking (2)

Lu Lu saw that her brother was acting strange. “Are you okay?” she nervously asked.

Song Heran finally caught a hold of himself.

He hurriedly opened the candy wrapper in his hand and looked intently.

Excuse me?

Mustard-flavored white rabbit candy?

He looked at Lu Lu.

He suspected that Lu Lu was deliberately trying to prank him, but her face was full of worry.

Song Heran took a deep breath and checked the other candies in her bag.

How lucky was he to pick that one out of all the others.

He was glad that Lu Lu didn’t end up trying that one.

He pinched Lu Lu’s little face and pointed to the green wrapping paper. “This candy tastes bad. Throw it out if you get one.”

Who knows how she even got that candy?

“Is it really bad to eat?”

“It’s really spicy. It’ll have you crying.”

How could white rabbit candy be spicy? Lu Lu thought.

Candy was obviously sweet.

She also ate one today and it tasted great.

Do the green ones taste bad?

She didn’t believe it.

Lu Lu turned over the small bag and found no more green candies. She thought if she ever got one again, she’d have to try it.

Song Heran saw Lu Lu’s face of doubt.

If she didn’t believe him, then she’ll surely know after she tried one herself.

“Lu Lu, put on your seatbelt. Uncle is about to drive.”

“Wait a minute.”

Song Heran waited for Lu Lu to hand out the sweets to Fei Fei and the driver.

After she divided the candy, she sat in her seat and didn’t move.

Song Heran reached out and poked Lu Lu’s little leg.

Lu Lu turned around and made a face to her brother.

The two laughed their way home.

When Lu Lu got home, she immediately ran to Nanny Liu to tell her to bake cookies.

He picked up a notice from the casting crew stating that they must begin filming the next day.

Lu Lu was not happy about already having to work after a day of kindergarten.

But she promised Uncle Fang Rui before that she’ll be there, and without her, her stupid brother can’t finish the film.

She was a good child that kept her promises.

She can only leave kindergarten for a while.

The next morning, Qiao Yi and Song Heran went to the kindergarten and gave the kids the freshly baked cookies Lu Lu promised them and talked to the teachers about Lu Lu’s situation.

Fang Rui knew that Lu Lu was young and had no experience in acting, so her first day was just getting to know the set and the people well.

Lu Lu looked around the room to see lots of cameras aimed towards her brother.

Every time Uncle Fang Rui shouted “Cut!”, there was always a group of people that rushed up to him to touch up his makeup and change his outfit.

Here, in addition to Uncle Fang Rui, her brother seemed to be the head of the crew. Almost everyone listened to him.

Lu Lu listened to someone explaining to her the script.

She didn’t understand it very well, but she knew that the actors had to do what was written in the script.

It was normal for directors to explain the scripts to actors, but this is the first time Li Bin had to explain to a 3-year-old.

He thought Lu Lu wouldn’t understand and it would become a pain, but Lu Lu surprisingly understood what she needed to do.

This reassured him that his job wasn’t going to be difficult.

No wonder Director Fang casted Lu Lu.

She was indeed very gifted.

The first day of the set was very busy and time flew fast. In a blink of an eye, it was already night.

Song Heran shot his last scene of the day. He saw Director Fang sitting there idly, so he suggested letting Lu Lu try a scene.

Fang Rui looked at his watch and he nodded. “Okay. Let Lu Lu come.”

Li Bin waved to let Lu Lu come over. Lu Lu got up from her bench and ran over.

Li Bin told Lu Lu in great detail the scene, from where she needs to move to where her eyes have to be.

“Do you remember it all Lu Lu?”

Lu Lu nodded.

Shooting a child’s scene normally required them to go bit by bit, so Fang Rui and Li Bin didn’t have the biggest hope for Lu Lu.

But Lu Lu exceeded all expectations they had.

Fang Rui was very surprised. He was about to compliment her but was cut short from a loud noise.

“Fang Rui! Fang Rui! You get out of here, Fang Rui!”

The sharp woman’s voice filled the set. Fang Rui looked over to the door and the original smile on his face disappeared.

Zou Lixiang was stopped by the security staff at the door and was not allowed to come in, so she resorted to shouting.

Fang Rui knew what Zou Lixiang came for.

“Let her in.”

Lu Lu saw the bad woman’s face again. She hid behind Fang Rui and looked for her brother in a panic.

Zou Lixiang immediately came in front of Fang Rui and questioned, “Director Fang, I didn’t know that you were this kind of person!”

“You said you’ll give me the contract to sign in a few days, yet you’ve already started to shoot the scenes?”

Had she not visited the set today, she would have not even known they’ve started filming.

If the contract wasn’t signed before Lu Lu finishes shooting, then the money doesn’t go to her, right?

Lu Lu was playing the main heroine in the film, so her pay wasn’t a small amount.

Fang Rui has long been ready for her to sign the contract because she is Lu Lu’s legal guardian.

But Song Heran came forward to confront her for treating her children like a money tree.

If she experiences something, she will simply keep sucking Lu Lu’s blood like a vampire.

Initially, Fang Rui just wanted to make his film without getting involved in anyone’s personal life, but Song Heran had already indicated he would seek his lawyers.

He dragged it out until it was time to shoot, but the contract was still not signed.

Fang Rui couldn’t think of an excuse, so he brought out the contract.

But how can Zou Lixiang believe him now?

Zou Lixiang saw Lu Lu hiding behind Director Fang.

“Director Fang, casting Lu Lu without my consent is child trafficking and child labor. If word spreads out, your work could be ruined.

Lu Lu’s pay is only a little bit of how much your film is going to make. I don’t have to tell you this, Director Fang.”

Song Heran just got off the phone with his lawyer and heard this.

He scoffed at Zou Lixiang’s ugly face, thinking of how there could be such a brazen person in the world.

Unfortunately, her plans won’t succeed.
