“Old Lu.” Qin Muzhi held the dish of seasoning sauce he had prepared and sat down next to Lu Ziheng. “If I had known that you’d already taken your drink, I wouldn’t have taken one for you.”

Shen Qinghuan suddenly wished she could take a look at Li Xiaojie’s expression. After all, she had intentionally left the seat next to Lu Ziheng open for Li Xiaojie.

Unsurprisingly, Li Xiaojie appeared like an eggplant after a snowstorm1.

After all, if things had gone according to Li Xiaojie’s plan, then she would have sat next to Lu Ziheng after driving Shen Qinghuan away.

She simply did not expect a Qin Muzhi to appear midway. As a result, she could only reluctantly sit by Shen Qinghuan’s side.

At this moment, the waitress brought the menu over and diffused the awkward atmosphere.

“Ladies first.” Qin Muzhi pushed the menu towards Li Xiaojie and Shen Qinghuan. “You guys go ahead and choose first.”

For the sake of maintaining a good image in front of Lu Ziheng, Li Xiaojie intentionally put on an act of being too embarrassed to do so. She then pushed the menu towards Shen Qinghuan.

Unlike Li Xiaojie, Shen Qinghuan did not react unnaturally. She scanned the menu and drew ticks against the marbled beef and shiitake mushrooms.

Yet just as she felt that there was nothing more to order, she suddenly recalled Lu Ziheng’s habit.

While most people wrapped their grilled meat with vegetables, Lu Ziheng was used to having it with soybean sprouts.

She recalled asking Lu Ziheng about this and had learned that his grandfather had spent his whole life selling soybean sprouts. Although his grandfather was no longer alive, whenever Lu Ziheng saw soybean sprouts, he would always think of him.

Shen Qinghuan also recognised that Lu Ziheng was using such a method to recall the relative he missed dearly.

“Qinghuan.” Li Xiaojiao leaned over and intentionally lowered her voice. Still, it would be more accurate to say that she was trying to ruin Shen Qinghuan’s image. After all, Lu Ziheng and Qin Muzhi could still hear her from where they were sitting. “Why did you order so much?”

Qin Muzhi smirked slightly. He had known that the moment the menu landed in Shen Qinghuan’s hands, she would have no reservations whatsoever.

Even so, Shen Qinghuan paid no attention to Li Xiaojie. She merely pushed the menu towards Qin Muzhi. “Both Xiaojie and I share the same tastes. You guys go ahead and continue picking.”

Li Xiaojie was immediately left speechless.

She recognised that if she refuted Shen Qinghuan’s words right now, then the image she had intentionally maintained in front of Lu Ziheng would collapse.

“Qinghuan is right.” Li Xiaojie put on a false smile before adding, “We’re good friends. Most of the time, we eat the same things.”

Shen Qinghuan brought her phone out and became immersed in her games. She did not pay anymore attention to Li Xiaojie.

Meanwhile, once Qin Muzhi received the menu, he was dazed for a moment. He rubbed his eyes and saw that all of his favourite seafood dishes were already chosen.

He stared at the young lady, who was focused on her game, with confusion. After pausing for a long while, he handed the menu over to Lu Ziheng.

Soybean Sprouts.

Seaweed Tofu Soybean Paste Stew.

Lu Ziheng’s expression changed to match Qin Muzhi’s.

Li Xiaojie naturally did not miss the two boys’ expressions. Her eyes shifted as she put on a cautious expression. Even her tone accurately matched the performance she was trying to put on. “Did Qinghuan offend you by ordering too much? Go ahead and cancel some stuff out. As girls, we don’t eat much in the first place…”

“No.” Lu Ziheng cut Li Xiaojie off.

Qin Muzhi also shook his head and followed Lu Ziheng’s train of thought.

Li Xiaojie listened as Qin Muzhi explained. Everything Shen Qinghuan had chosen was what they liked. It was important to note here that most people rarely ordered soybean sprouts in barbeque shops.

“Student Shen seems to understand us very well.” Qin Muzhi intentionally teased: “Could you have secretly done some homework?”
