Due to Shen Qinghuan’s touch, Lu Ziheng’s ears actually turned red.

He could only use his other hand to push her away. “Why are you like this!”

Don’t you know that distance should be kept between boys and girls? (ó̴̶̷̥⌑ọ̴̶̷̥̀)

“I did go to the school entrance.”

Shen Qinghuan also noticed that her actions were slightly inappropriate, so she subconsciously took two steps back.

Earlier in the morning, when the gardener had come by to trim the bushes, he had carelessly tossed a rock that he found onto the road.

Shen Qinghuan did not pay attention as she stepped on it; however, it was extremely painful as it pressed against the bottom of her feet.

Hearing this, Lu Ziheng immediately bent down and forgot all about the earlier matter of keeping distance between boys and girls. He even tossed away his decision to ignore Shen Qinghuan from now onwards.

He probably owed this little lady a debt from his past life.

“Are you all right?”

“What do you think!”

Lu Ziheng took in the girl’s aggrieved appearance and suddenly felt the urge to reach out and embrace her.

The little lady in front of him sure was pampered.

Although the little stone was sharp, it only pressed against the bottom of her foot for a moment. To think that her skin had torn that easily.

Lu Ziheng’s chest felt extremely stifled. In the past, he rarely interacted with girls directly. Yet due to Shen Qinghuan, he was actually seeing new sides of himself.

In fact, his actions could not even keep up with his thoughts. He directly grabbed her waist and lifted her up to jog towards the nearest private clinic.

The nurse was in the midst of leaning against the table to watch the latest, popular television drama. When Lu Ziheng came running with Shen Qinghuan in his arms, she assumed Shen Qinghuan was seriously ill. Otherwise, why would someone run in so urgently?

Even so, after seeing Shen Qinghuan’s small wound, and hearing the doctor explaining that there was completely no need for her to visit a doctor and waste resources, the nurse still upheld the principles of being a medical caregiver and did not resent the two youths.

The nurse simply helped Shen Qinghuan clean up her wound with an alcohol swab. She then pasted a plaster for her before teasing, “Your boyfriend seems very worried about you.”

“He isn’t…”

Before Shen Qinghuan could finish explaining, Lu Ziheng had returned from paying the medical fees. “Her wound can’t come into contact with water, right?”

He successfully changed the topic away from what the nurse had hoped to say-

Bringing such a small wound to a clinic was simply an exaggeration, so it was of no importance whether or not it came into contact with water.

However, after taking in the young man’s nervous appearance, she actually nodded subconsciously.

Only then did Lu Ziheng finally buy a bottle of povidone from the nurse.

The moonlight in the evening was much brighter than before he left the school.

Due to the wound on the bottom of her feet, Shen Qinghuan could only walk on her tiptoes. Lu Ziheng was no longer as angry as he had been earlier.

“And so, you delayed your promise with me today in order to do a good deed?”

Lu Ziheng did not know what to do with his hands. He struggled to understand why he felt as though a heavy burden had just lifted off of his body, or where the joy was returning from. Through Shen Qinghuan’s bright eyes, he could see his own comical self.

“That’s right.” Shen Qinghuan nodded and continued sincerely, “Student Lu, could you stop being angry with me?”

Lu Ziheng took in Shen Qinghuan’s obedient and pure appearance. His throat shifted and he felt his heart nearly leaping out of his chest.

Too. Fucking. Cute.

“Have you had dinner? As an apology, I’ll treat you to dinner, all right?” Shen Qinghuan’s voice was soft. She asked two questions in a row, but Lu Ziheng did not find it annoying.

He stood stiffly where he was.

Finally, Shen Qinghuan stood on her tiptoes and pressed her cold little hand against his forehead. “Student Lu, should we return to the clinic? I suspect you have a heatstroke, but I don’t have any evidence.”
