Wan An glared at Luo Xiaoman and took a long hard look at her. He then proceeded to leave Bai Luo Town.

‘Be a snitch for you, Luo Xiaoman? That’s impossible. I’ll even sacrifice my own principles for the Wan family.’

‘Huh, you’re indeed inexperienced.’

“Master.” Watching Wan An’s disappearing back, Mo Yuan asked with doubt in his mind, “I thought you’ve already unlocked the seal on the jade charm?”

“You don’t get it, Yuan.” Luo Xiaoman looked calm and continued explaining, “I’ve done a background check on Wan An. He’s the most loyal in the Wan family.”

“Hmm?”

“Which means my intention was not to ask him to be a snitch for me. I did it so as to let the Wan family think that I don’t know the secret of the jade charm. They’d then lower their guard against me.”

Mo Yuan’s eyes sparkled, as he observed Luo Xiaoman.

This little master of his was such a sly little fox. She was so cunning.

Although Wan An appeared streetwise, he was still fooled by a little fox like Luo Xiaoman. Nonetheless, he still thought highly of himself.

“Yuan.” All of a sudden, Luo Xiaoman stretched and smiled at Mo Yuan playfully. She then unexpectedly opened her arms. “Carry me.”

Mo Yuan’s heart fluttered. A subtle blush appeared on his stern face. He answered with a soft hum and proceeded to carry Luo Xiaoman on his back in an awkward manner.

Luo Xiaoman lay on Mo Yuan’s back. She closed her eyes with a smile of comfort on her face.

“Yuan, why’s your back so comfortable? I feel like lying here forever.” Her voice was very soft and gentle, yet it impacted Mo Yuan’s heart like a sledgehammer.

“Hmm, so long as Master relishes it, Yuan is willing to carry you forever.”

“Hehe, you’re so nice, Yuan. I didn’t bring you back in vain.”

Mo Yuan smiled subconsciously. Memories of their first meeting flooded his mind.

He could never forget those clear and bright eyes. They shone like a blazing sun to illuminate his lost soul.

“Who are you?”

“Mo Yuan.”

“Where do you stay? How about your family?”

“…”

“Can’t remember a thing? Poor you. Why don’t you come with me?”

“Great!”

“From now on, I’ll be your master. If I get a mouthful of savory food, then you’ll get a mouthful of spicy food.”

Mo Yuan: Master, actually… I don’t like spicy food!

Luo Xiaoman: No, you do!

Mo Yuan snapped out of his flashback and found out that Luo Xiaoman had fallen asleep on his back.

He then looked at the grumpy Snowy beside them. It seemed as if it was saying, “My back is nice too. Why does the Master seem to like your back?”

Woof, woof. It had fallen out of favor.

Mo Yuan frowned. Suddenly, he leaped onto Snowy’s back.

Snowy: Hmm?

“Let’s go to Bai Luo Mountain.”

Snowy: Hey, I’m little Master’s exclusive ride, not yours! Get down, you poker-faced rascal.

However, Snowy had to admit defeat under Mo Yuan’s cold glare.

“Master, Wan An is back.”

“Huh, this traitor still dares to come back?”

Wan Wu squinted his eyes and looked at Wan Zitong who was in the middle of her preparations.

Wan Zitong had changed into a phoenix-patterned robe with her hair tied into a ponytail. She looked exceptionally heroic.

“Let him in,” she spoke softly while tightening up her bracers.

Soon after, Wan An walked in and immediately kneeled on the ground. “Master, Young Lady, Wan An is here to apologize.”

“You…” Wan Wu was about to reprimand him, but he was interrupted by Wan Zitong.

She squinted her eyes and stared at Wan An. “Was it Luo Xiaoman who asked you to come back?”
