“What did you…”

“What kind of official letter is this? I don’t think we were given prior notice.”

“Before that. What you said a while ago…”

“Do I have to show my parents?”

“Now…”

“Young lady…”

When Eisel continued to cut off the man’s words, the people behind him stopped him. Eisel frowned while the man’s eyes were staring at her.

‘What? What are you going to do? You’re not going to get mad at me, are you?’

Eisel stared at the man with a carefree look. It was meaningless to get angry at Eisel. Perhaps here, the man sighed quietly and suddenly burst into laughter.

“Let me give you a piece of advice. All Basquiella family members can benefit from it, but if possible, it would be better not to participate. More so after seeing your miserable situation.”

Maybe he didn’t want to lose or if he wanted to gossip. Eisel stared at the back of the man’s head as he left with harsh words until the end. Others behind hurriedly followed the man while Eisel rolled her eyes slowly.

‘I’m stuck again.’

“I learned that you need to sprinkle salt at times like this.”

I don’t have salt to sprinkle because I’m poor.

It was the moment where there was one more chance to earn money.

(3rd Person POV)

“Is it the right time already?”

Beorick breathed for a long time. Whether it was a sigh or a complaint, he looked at the official letter handed over by Eisel. She chewed on the cookies sent by those people and waited for Beorick to finish reading the official letter.

In the meantime, Lily, who returned with fruit after a long time, sat on a chair with a worried face.

“Beorick.”

“…This is embarrassing.”

Beorick stared at Eisel as he read the official letter.

“Eisel. Have you read this?”

“It said that Basquiella’s family allows free participation of their colleagues in different classes.”

“As you said, Basquiella’s class is free of charge. And you can attend too.”

Basquiella was one of the families that controlled the empire. In addition, some of Basquiela’s defense included high-ranking aristocrats who took key positions in politics. Basquiella’s defense is the fallen noble Aspenser, who became a beggar after his business went bankrupt.

It was a surprising fact. Eisel chewed on the apple and thought for a while before raising her head.

“Do I have to go?”

“You don’t have to go. However, Basquiella’s education is famous for its high quality. It’s classes that you can’t easily get anywhere else. But…”

Beorick closed his lips slowly while talking about the strengths of the class.

‘It meant that all the children who take classes there are aristocrats.’

Beorick was worried that Eisel would be discriminated against and be hurt there.

In addition, will Eisel be able to handle Basquiela’s class alone, which is difficult to follow even if a professional teacher is invited and attached?

When Beorick closed his mouth and remained silent for a while, Lily stroked Eisel’s head.

“If Eisel wants to go, I don’t want to stop her. But…”

Lily couldn’t say anything and swallowed. No matter how hard her parents were, it was not a story that could be brought up by their children that their families could be ostracized due to the existing cultural beliefs.

Eisel did not receive the basic literacy education that aristocrats deserve. She won’t be able to receive more education in the future, but she won’t have the same opportunity every time. Lily would rather stop Eisel if she didn’t want to go.

Lily smiled quietly, staring at her daughter without a word.

“Basquiella is the biggest mansion past the square, right?”

It was a huge mansion that she remembered coming and going a few times. It would be strange not to remember because this land-priced capital owned a huge site.

When Beorick nodded quietly, Eisel thought for a moment and smiled.

“Then I’ll try it once.”

“Will you be okay?”

Eisel smiled, nodding her head plainly. There’s nothing to think about for a long time. It was the Basquiela family. A place where no one can easily enter. When she went there, there would be a lot of books and she could meet new people.

“Let’s find out something about the world.”

In addition, she was used to being bullied. She can’t miss this good opportunity.

Beorick and Lily swallowed a sigh silently, looking at their daughter smiling with a blank face.

Actually, it was those two people who didn’t know anything.

(3rd Person POV)

The number of windows that can only be seen on one side is almost 100. There were only nine chimneys seen above, and their height rose to the sixth floor. In addition, there were two more such buildings on both sides.

“Here you go.”

The mansion of Duke Basquiella’s family, Eisel stared blankly at the mansion where the “real aristocrats with noble linage” lived.

It was a bit big.

Eisel has seen apartments and colorful buildings in her life, but it was her first time seeing an antique mansion of this type. It’s huge from afar too. She felt it, but seeing it up close, it was incredible.

Beorick looked anxiously at his daughter, who had forgotten her answer while looking at the mansion. Will it be okay? He was worried that she would be harmed, but there was no place to resign those thoughts.

People entering and exiting the entrance of the mansion looked at the father and daughter standing blankly at the entrance.

What is it? Are they beggars?

As his appearance did not look like a nobleman, the guards seemed to be worried about whether to kick him out. If they were a noble guest, they would get off a wagon like everyone else around them.

Then, in the end, a security guard approached the two with a face of giving up.

“How did you get here?”

It was a neat and polite attitude like a guard of a noble family. Beorick collected the gaze he was looking at Eisel and put it in the guard.

“I brought the official letter.”

“What? What official letter…”

The guard slightly opened his mouth to the official letter brought by Beorick and briefly exclaimed. Then he quickly swept Beorick and Eisel up and down.

“Are you Basquiella’s colleagues?”

It’s a very polite tone, but inside they were asking you’re Basquiella’s aristocrats? It contained that meaning. Beorick swallowed a sigh to flow out of the security attitude of checking the condition of the envelope and parchment, whether it was stolen or forged.

“It’s Aspenser.”

“It’s my first time hearing it.”

“…….”

Beorick felt emotional, but he tried hard to smile quietly with a good face.

“Mister.”

It was then. Eisel, who was looking at the mansion next to her, suddenly spoke to him. The guard looked down at the voice coming up from the bottom.

“Why are you calling me?”

“Are you an aristocrat?”

“Huh?”

“Most of the people who spoke informally to my dad were aristocrats. I thought you were also a noble.”

The guard rolled his eyes at the question that was thrown with innocence. Nobles are nobles, even if their appearances are wretched. It was also Basquiela’s collateral. Or, there could have been an acquaintance with another family. The guard hurriedly prepared the official document and handed it to Beorick.

“Hey, come in. Just go to the right.”

Eisel waved her hand at the guard, who stood out of the way with a shaky face. Beorick glanced back at them and let out a long breath at the sight of the gossiping guards. Ignoring mere guards, she could see what the other nobles were like.

“I see you here.”

Beorick, who checked the nameplate with the words ‘Meeting Room’ written on it, bent his knees and made eye level with Eisel. He looked at her for a long time as if his footsteps were heavy as he was leaving the child alone here.

Eisel, who was staring at Beorick with a grin, wrapped her arms around Beorick’s neck as if not to worry.

“I will go.”

Embracing Eisel’s tiny body tightly, Beorick nodded his head briefly and stood up. His lips slowly opened as he stroked Eisel’s silver hair, which was soft like sunlight.

“Be careful…”

“Well?”

However, before Beorik’s words could be spoken, the tightly closed door opened and a young nobleman appeared. Not long ago, he was an arrogant nobleman who visited Eisel’s house and sent an official letter. He looked at Eisel and Beorick alternately and brought their brows together.

“Under-“

He wondered if his man’s expression would be wrinkled, and then the corners of his mouth curled up and he burst out laughing. At the blatant ridicule, Beorick bit his lip.

“Wow, that’s great. I didn’t think you would come.”

“…”

“Is it because your mind is thick or you have no sense? No, is it both?”

The man who continued his speech with a low voice as if to listen, approached Beorick and stretched out his hand.

“I’m Gerald Basquiela. My son is also taking this class, so he is in the same position. I look forward to your kind cooperation.”

‘Gerald… Second son of the Basquiella family…’

He was not an ordinary nobleman, but a member of the Basquiella family. Beorick looked intently at Gerald’s hand as he approached him and stretched out his arm with difficulty.

When Beorick tried to shake Gerald’s hand, Gerald’s hand snapped out as if that was what he was aiming. Because of that, only Beorick’s hand, which he reached out for a handshake, was suspended in the air in embarrassment.
