“Click!”

The Level 9 Black Rock Crab was the first to notice Jon and hollered out loud to alert its two companions.

But Jon had already reacted before the three crabs could take action.

“Bloodthirster Sword Toss!”

As they were situated within a narrow cave, the impact of the explosion was confined within a smaller area and this brought the power of destruction up a notch.

“Boom!”

The earth and mountains shook as the shockwave of the explosion reverberated along the walls of the cave. The strong impact made Jon tremble in fear. He felt certain that he would be severely injured for a few days if he were at the receiving end of the impact.

“Mystic Water Shield!”

Jon immediately executed the only defense skill that he had mastered to shield himself. When the shockwave struck the Mystic Water Shield, Jon immediately felt as though he was pushed back against the seat of a speeding supercar. Jon felt like a bullet in a gun as he sliced through the flowing water and after a loud blast, he was catapulted out of the cave by an immense force and after soaring through the air for a few hundreds of meters, he finally came to a stop.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 8 Black Rock Crab killed. Level fragment +100 obtained.”

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 9 Black Rock Crab killed. Level fragment +150 obtained.”

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 8 Black Rock Crab killed. Level fragment +100 obtained.”

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 1 water element killed. Level fragment +1 obtained.”

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 2 Black Rock Shrimp killed. Level fragment +2 obtained.”

When the city gate catches fire, the fish in the moat suffers along, fr Jon’s attack managed to implicate numerous other creatures within the vicinity. After the explosion, he obtained a total of 792 level fragments. Regretfully, as Jon was catapulted out of the cave by the impact of the explosion, he did not manage to extract the advance fragment.

He then glanced at his the data panel again and noted that the column which indicated his level was now updated to level 6. He also owned 960 out of 320 level fragments, which allowed him to upgraded himself.

In fact, he had garnered enough level fragments to undergo two rounds of upgrade.

“Upgrade!”

Jon immediately chose to upgrade himself. However, he decided not to do so next time, for despite how satisfying it was to earn those EXP, he still felt like something was missing since he couldn’t get any evolution points.

He felt that it was better to level up to a certain rank and he could engage in close range combat.

“Ding! 320 level fragments were used. You’ve advanced to level 7. You obtain a roll now that you’ve levelled up. Do you wish to use it immediately?”

“The roll expires within 24 hours. Please use it as soon as possible.”

“I’ll use it now.”

Jon chose to use the roll immediately.

The virtual screen revealed the image of a common pachinko machine that could be found anywhere along the streets. However, the slots on the machine that represented the prizes were all blank. A yellow light dot darted across the screen erratically before.

Subsequently, the pachinko machine disappeared.

A line of words then popped up on the screen.

“You’ve drawn your lot. Congratulations, you’ve obtained the Spirit Shock skill.

“Spirit Shock: It could only be used within close range and is limited to one unit, which means that the opponent would only be stunned for one second,” the system noted.

“It could only stun the opponent for a second? Well, I suppose it’s better than nothing,” Jon decided.

“Ding! You’ve successfully mastered the Spirit Shock skill!”

The system notification chimed to announce that Jon had learnt the skill.

“Continue to level up!”

Jon was currently at Level 7 and had 640 out of 640 level fragments, which meant that he had a chance to level up once.

“Ding! 640 level fragments were used. You’ve successfully upgraded to level 8.

Congratulations, you’ve obtained a Diancang Fist.

“Diancang Fist: Gathers the elemental power in your right fist. When a punch is thrown out, any sword or shield that dares to stand in its path will be dented or broken.”

The Water Demon’s Bloodthirster was a sharp weapon that was made to wound its opponent and was focused on breaking through its opponent’s defense. On the other hand, the Diancang Fist was a blunt weapon that could inflict damage without having to need to break through its opponent’s defense. Now that Jon had this, it would raise his ability to deal a lethal blow to his enemies.

“Ding! You’ve successfully mastered the Diancang Fist,” the system announced monotonously to indicate that Jon had learnt the Diancang Fist.

After the upgrade was complete, Jon returned to the area where the karst cavec were and chose a karst cave that was further away from the previous one.

This time, the cave he chose wasn’t very deep. Although the front part of the cave was extremely narrow, it eventually opened up to a wide, spacious area.

Jon arrived at a place that resembled a hall. It was if someone had built an underground shopping mall at the bottom of the sea.

The underground hall was in a state of mess. Stalactites that were previously dangling off the ceiling was now scattered everywhere across the ground and many Black Rock Crabs were scurrying in and out of the karst cave as if they were trying to clear the tunnel which was blocked up after the explosion.

However, those Black Rock Crabs did not pique Jon’s interest, for his eyes was already attracted to a half meter high black pyramid that stood in the middle of the hall.

It was a pyramid purely built from elemental stones and Jon would be able to extract at least 100 advanced fragments from it.

Jon was very thrilled and eager to approach the pyramid and stake his claim on it.

However, the guards immediately noticed their intruder and two Black Rock Crabs quickly retreated from the karst cave, which was bustling with activity. After taking one glance at Jon, they roared out loud and charged towards him.

The description of the two Black Rock Crabs were flashed on Jon’s virtual screen.

“Level 7 and level 8.”

As Jon wanted to test the power of his newly obtained Dingcang Fist, he refrained from using the Water Demon’s Bloodthirster. Instead, he charged forward with just his bare fists and summoned his Dingcang Fist before he threw out a punch at the level 8 Black Rock Crab. At the same time, he used the Mystic Water Shield to shield himself from the other level 7 Black Rock Crab.

“Bang!”

The level 8 Black Rock Crab was sent flying. Meanwhile, the level 7 Black Rock Crab managed to bypass the Mystic Water Shield and lifted its black pincers in an attempt to smash Jon with it.

“Dingcang Fist!”

Instead of dodging the attack, Jon fought against it head on with his Dingcang Fist.

“PFFT!”

After Jon’s right fist smashed into the Black Rock Crab’s pincers, it actually sank straight into its flesh.

“Water Demon’s Bloodthirster!”

Jon drew out the Water Demon’s Bloodthirster with his left hand and swung the sword towards the level 7 Black Rock Crab’s left pincers, cleaving it off successfully.

“Leap Wave Attack!”

Jon transformed into a wave to allow himself to retract his fist from the crab’s body before he pounced on the level 8 Black Rock Crab that he had punched earlier on.

“Bloodthirster Sword Toss!”

After keeping a safe distance between himself and the creature, Jon tossed the Bloodthirster towards the level 7 Black Rock Crab that had lost one of its pincers.

“Boom!”

With the sound of an explosion, Jon completed his mission to kill the level 7 Black Rock Crab.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 7 Black Rock Crab killed. Level fragment +50 obtained. Successfully extracted advanced water-type fragment +3 and advanced earth-type fragment +3 from the target’s body.”
