 “Strengthen Storm Toss.”

Jon informed the system of his choice.

“Ding! Host’s will has been received. Enhancement start… enhancement successful! Congratulations, you have strengthened Storm Toss to the intermediate level.”

As the system’s notification rang, Jon successfully enhanced Storm Toss to the intermediate level.

Jon took a look all around the forest. Every tree was more than 50 meters tall, and the surroundings were silent. There were only the cries of birds and insects.

“Roar!”

Just as Jon felt things were too quiet, the roar of wild beasts suddenly sounded in the distance. From the direction of the sound, two giant beasts were engaged in combat with each other while moving in this direction.

They were two ape creatures that were more than three meters tall. The fur on their bodies was very long; it was reminiscent of humans that did not cut their hair. They were also very powerful. One of the apes missed a punch and hit a tree on the side. That tree, which was as thick as a human, was felled.

The virtual screen marked the two apes:

Raging Ape, Elite Level 16. Elite level 17.

Description: An odd creature with a natural affinity for using battle aura. It has powerful combat strength and a sizeable amount of combat skills.

Jon noticed that all the animals here seemed to have been born with the ability to use battle aura. He was not sure if it had anything to do with the god who created this realm.

“Ding! Mission unlocked. Kill the Raging Apes.”

This was what he had been waiting for! Since the mission window had popped up, Jon immediately took action and rushed towards the two apes who were still fighting.

“Storm Toss!”

He had just moments ago enhanced Storm Toss, so this was a good opportunity to test its newfound power.

“Boom!”

The storm exploded and knocked down the two apes who were incessantly fighting. The lower half of the level-16 elite raging ape’s body was frozen.

“Icy Diancang Fist!”

Jon rushed over and threw a punch at the level 17 elite raging ape that had not been frozen. Ice crystals shot out, and everything in the direction of the punch was frozen solid.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 17 Elite Raging Ape killed. Level fragment +1,100 obtained. Successfully extracted battle aura type advanced fragment +120 from the target’s body.”

The system notification chimed. The raging ape had died from Icy Diancang Fist.

After killing one, Jon took out his two-meter-long water-rock-ice sword and peered at the frozen level 16 elite raging ape. It was instantly scared out of its wits and wanted to run for its life.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 16 Elite Raging Ape killed. Level fragment +1,000 obtained. Successfully extracted battle aura type advanced fragment +100 from the target’s body.”

The system notification rang, and the level-16 raging ape died from the ice sword.

“Let’s continue on.”

This amount of advanced fragments was not nearly enough for him to rank up. He still had to hunt more monsters.

Two days passed quickly. During these two days, Jon had continually been hunting those giant beasts born with the ability to use battle aura.

Jon looked at his advancement fragments. In these two days, he had gained a total of +970 battle aura type advancement fragments. His efficiency was quite high, but there were still more than 2,000 fragments to go before the next rank up.

“Roar!”

As the thoughts in Jon’s mind turned, a particularly shocking roar came from the forest. It shook the leaves around him, causing them to fall down and dance in the air.

Then, he felt the ground trembling from underneath his feet. Thinking about the movement from underneath him, his expression changed slightly.

“I’ve met some bigshot now.”

The trees in front of him fell one after another, revealing a gap in the wall of trees. Like a big dinosaur, it appeared in front of Jon with its neck raised like a giraffe.

Its entire body resembled a lizard’s wrinkled skin, and a row of dreadful bone spikes grew out of its long neck. When it lifted its feet, the ground shook, and when it roared, the birds and beasts fled. When it opened its mouth, it was full of ferocious and foul-smelling pointed fangs. It was truly a tyrant.

On the virtual screen, it was marked:

Green Dinobeast, Level 21 Lesser-Commander Rank.

Description: The proud creation of the Beast God. It was born an expert user of battle aura, but even has a certain level of spellcasting ability.

Jon involuntarily held his breath for a short while. He knew that he had encountered a formidable opponent that could not be underestimated.

Other monsters in the forest definitively could not even compare to this green dinobeast. Although it was only ranked lesser-commander, it was undoubtedly a true commander-tier creature. There was a monumental gap between this monster and those elite-tier ones. Moreover, its level was nine higher than that of Jon’s!

“Ding! Mission unlocked. Kill the Green Dinobeast.”

The system’s notification chimed. The monster had caught sight of Jon.

There was no way it wouldn’t have noticed Jon, because, in the eyes of other creatures, Jon was also very eye-catching. His ice crystal armor flickered with a horrid cold light, and everything around him was unknowingly frozen by the cold air coming in and out of his body.

The green dinobeast’s dark-colored eyes emitted a green light, and it stared coldly at Jon. Even though the core inside Jon’s body was hidden deep inside of it, the green dinobeast could still sense the essence inside of him that all elemental creatures possessed.

“Ice Colossus!”

If Jon wanted to fight with all his might, naturally he would have to bring out all his skills too.

The ice colossus was supposed to have a massive stature, but it somehow looked rather thin in front of the green dinobeast.

“Roar!”

The ice colossus charged at the green dinobeast and raised its fist that was emitting cold air towards the monster’s super long neck.

Jon had originally predicted that its neck, much like a giraffe’s, ought to have been very weak. Facing the ice colossus’ punch, it ought to have tried dodging. However, he did not expect the green dinobeast to use its neck as a whip and sweep it towards the ice colossus. It was destroyed in one hit.

Well, that was only a combat puppet created by a level-12 creature like Jon. It was normal for the ice colossus to get insta-killed when facing an opponent that was so many levels higher than its main body.

In the future, Jon could only use Ice Colossus to attack weaklings as a support. He could no longer use it to fight enemies that were stronger than himself. It was the same as with the swordfish clan’s high-level knights that last time—the ice colossus also got insta-killed before it could even advance towards them. Be it in terms of attacking or defending, this skill really couldn’t do anything.

“Ice Leap!”

Since the puppet was not reliable, it was better for Jon himself to fight. Jon used Ice Leap to teleport to the green dinobeast’s head.

Thinking about it, Jon was probably 1.8 meters tall. His current figure could definitely be considered burly amongst humans, but he did not expect to be able to stand on the heads of other creatures. From here, he could see that the green dinobeast truly was extraordinarily tall.

“Icy Diancang Fist!”

Jon immediately bent down and punched the monster under his feet.

When his fist hit its head, its high-held head fell abruptly towards the ground. However, when it had fallen halfway there, it came back to its senses and steadily stopped its head.

Following the direction of Jon’s punch, a large amount of ice crystals condensed along its extremely long neck.

Roar!

The green dinobeast cried out in pain. Boundless battle aura surged out of its body and swept up towards Jon. Jon could feel the terrifying power contained within it. He knew that if he got swept up, he would for sure suffer. Thus, he quickly used Ice Leap to escape from the monster’s body.

After teleporting, Jon ran for more than a hundred meters. As soon as he had steadied himself, the battle spirit that had followed him like a shadow came crashing down right in his face!
