The Lord of Elements from a Drop of Water - Chapter 15

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio

Jon looked back at the senior swordfish knight. In his current state, it was impossible for him to win against it. If he escaped now, it would just catch back up to him after the last swordfish knight reconverged with it and gave it another mount. In that case, next year on this very day would be the anniversary of Jon’s death.

This was because with Jon’s exhausted body, it was impossible for him to escape very far!

Now, there was only one option remaining:

“Level Up!”

That’s right! Jon wanted to level up on the spot. Only by relying on the status recovery from leveling up would he be able to escape from this hopeless situation of certain death.

And now, his data panel was at level 10 (Level Fragments 3020/3000, Can Level Up) . The two swordfish elite knights he killed a moment ago gave just enough fragments to level up.

“Ding! 3000 level fragments were used. You have obtained a roll now that you’ve leveled up. Do you wish to use it immediately?”

“Notice: the roll expires within 24 hours. Please use it as soon as possible.”

“Draw immediately.”

Jon chose to use this roll immediately.

The virtual screen opened. It displayed the image of a horse-racing machine that could be seen everywhere on the street. However, the slots on the horse-racing machine that represented the prizes were all blank. Yellow dots of light wandered across the screen and finally stopped on one of the slots.

The horse-racing machine disappeared from the virtual screen,

And then, a line of words popped up on the screen:

You’ve drawn your lot. Congratulations, you’ve obtained a skill enhancement point.

“Level up Elemental Spirit Rush.”

Jon chose to use the skill enhancement point to enhance Elemental Spirit Rush. He was worried that this skill would not be able to affect the swordfish senior knight that was many levels higher than him, so he deliberately strengthened it once to ensure that nothing would go wrong.

“Ding! Elemental Spirit Rush successfully enhanced. Strength, casting distance, and dizziness effect increased. Number of individuals that can be affected increased by one.”

The crisp sound of the system notification sounded, and Jon had successfully strengthened Elemental Spirit Rush by one level.

Jon felt that he had become slightly stronger, and his body was once again filled to the brim with elemental power. All of a sudden, he felt his confidence soar rapidly.

“Elemental Leap Wave Slash!”

He turned around and charged straight at the swordfish senior knight.

The Elemental Leap Wave Slash only allowed Jon to rush in front of the swordfish senior knight. It saw that Jon did not have a shred of fear in his charge, so it raised the pitchfork in its hand and directed it towards Jon.

“Water-Rock Elemental Sword! Triple Sword Desire!”

Jon used his strongest attack combination skill to meet the pitchfork.

“Boom!”

The seawater around the two was instantly pushed away by a tremendous force. The speed at which this volume of water was spreading around was too fast, and it caused the sound of water exploding to resound.

Jon was once again sent flying by the strength of the senior swordfish knight, and the water-rock elemental sword in his hand shattered. This time, he held the sword in his left hand, causing his entire left hand to be sent flying by the recoil of the collision.

Jon looked back at the swordfish senior knight again and could see it could no longer be as calm as it was after their previous clash. Its pitchfork had already been cracked during the previous confrontation, and now, after this confrontation, it ultimately got destroyed. One of the two fork tips fell off, and the pitchfork pole was broken into three pieces.

“Waaaah!”

The swordfish senior knight’s face turned pale with fright. It desperately wanted to escape. Its weapon had broke, and along with it its fighting spirit.

“Diancang Fist!”

How could Jon let it escape? Ignoring the injury on his left hand, he gathered elemental power in his right hand and used Diancang Fist to hit the back of the swordfish senior knight.

“Whoosh!”

The knight’s heart shattered, and it died.

“Ding! Mission completed. Level 17 Miniboss Swordfish Senior Knight killed. Level fragment +2000 obtained. Successfully extracted water type advanced fragment +400 from the target’s body.”

The system notification sounded. Jon had finally defeated a powerful enemy.

“Over there, the captain has been killed! Run…”

A roar of terror sounded in the distance. Jon looked over and saw a large group of Swordfish Knights turning their heads as they fled far away from Jon.

Jon was somewhat dumbstruck. There were so many of them; even if they could not defeat him, they could slowly exhaust him to death. He didn’t think they would all run away in a panic after seeing their captain get killed.

As the saying went, there was no point in chasing after a beat-up enemy. Since they had already chosen to escape, Jon would cause himself trouble and go chase after them.

The two interludes had finally came to an end, so Jon continued going along the path to find the peeping seaweed monster.

After swimming in that direction for about two days, Jon suddenly noticed that there was a weak resistance in the direction he was going. At first he thought it was because of the ocean currents, but the resistance kept becoming stronger and stronger as he moved along the ocean current. He finally realized that there was something off about this environment.

What does it mean?

It beckoned me over here with its gaze, and in the same breath set up these resistances to prevent people from entering?

Jon stopped to think carefully.

But in the end, he couldn’t think of anything,

He definitely wouldn’t be able to think of anything, since there wasn’t any information at all. You can’t make bricks without straw.

In the end, he decided to keep moving forward. The thought of always having someone staring at him was too uncomfortable. He had to figure out who was looking at him, how they were looking at him, and why they were looking at him.

After figuring it out, he would “convince with reason” and persuade them to stop their voyeuristic habits!

“Elemental Leap Wave Slash!”

Jon turned into an elemental stream and violently rushed in the direction of the resistance.

A strange feeling came over him, as if he had passed through a membrane or a barrier.

The scene in front of him suddenly changed drastically, as if the world were turning upside down.

When he was able to clearly see what was in front of him after the scenery finished changing, Jon’s mouth was dropped wide open in shock!

The seawater that had filled the environment everywhere had disappeared, and there was air touching his skin.

Looking up, all he could see were trees and soil. Seven-star ladybugs were crawling around in the undergrowth, and butterflies were flying around leisurely in front of his eyes.

“This is… another transportation? !”

Jon felt his mind was a mess. He was so shocked and confused he almost started to doubt reality.

“Ding! You have received a summoning signal. Do you wish to accept it?”

The system notification suddenly sounded, calming Jon’s thoughts.

Fortunately, the system was still there.

The fact that he could still receive a summoning signal meant that he was still in the Pluralistic Continent!

After calming down, he quickly got a grasp of the situation. He had not teleported again. He ought to have just suddenly barged into some strange space. This strange space should still be in the Water Elemental Plane. It was like a paradise created by the gods in myths and legends. It was a world of its own, which was why the environment was so different from the outside world.

Jon could tell from his gut that the Iris was the one summoning him.

Through their contract, Iris would be able to accurately find him no matter where he was.

“Accept the summoning!”

Jon conveyed his will to the system.

“Ding! Response successful. Do you wish to have a projection summoned or your physical self?”

“My physical self.”

Perhaps Iris needed him for help with something, so it would be safer to respond to her in his main body.

Whoosh!

A huge magic array spread under Jon’s feet, and he disappeared into the Water Elemental Plane.
