The Insane and Good-For-Nothing Madam - Chapter 33

“Your Highness!” Feng Fei’er quickly went forward and held Nangong Yan’s wrist, and a horsetail whisk magically appeared in her palm. Layers of green mist appeared and surrounded Nangong Yan as Feng Fei’er waved her whisk, and Nangong Yan’s pale face slowly turned normal again.

Nangong Yan held his head as his blood boiled in rage.

He actually got a headache because of what that slut said?

“That’s enough from you if you want to live, Feng Ruchu,” said a dignified voice in Feng Ruchu’s ear.

It was the emperor!

He was using magic to project his voice so that nobody else could hear him!

Feng Ruchu frowned and looked at the throne. The emperor was sitting there emotionlessly with a fake smile on his face. Feng Ruchu got goosebumps when she sensed a murderous intent in the emperor’s smile.

Looks like the emperor wanted her dead too! Was it because she refused to give up the title of the crown princess?

As Feng Ruchu thought about it, she felt a sudden pain in her calf which quickly numbed all her nerves. The numbness stopped her from moving and left her frozen to the ground.

She looked up and saw a flash of pink in the emperor’s palm.

How shameless of the emperor to attack her with a hidden weapon! Turns out Nangong Yan was not the only despicable one among the royals.

“How could I bear to split you from the crown prince if you really like him that much?” The emperor smiled and said when he saw Feng Ruchu’s pale face.

“You must be joking, Your Majesty. I might have been chosen as the crown princess, but everyone knows that I hardly leave the chancellor’s residence and rarely see the crown prince. ‘Liking him’ would be a massive overstatement,” said Feng Ruchu through clenched teeth, wincing as as the pain in her calf spread through her body.

It was not worth it to get killed now just for a moment’s comfort.

Who knows? Maybe they would stop bothering her if she gave up the title of crown princess and let them have it instead.

Not to mention that she was still looking for a way back to the 21st century.

The emperor’s expression became less serious; he was happy that Feng Ruchu was sensible enough to yield. “Since you do not have affection for the crown prince, the title of crown princess-”

“I have never cared about the title of crown princess. Whoever wants it can have it,” Feng Ruchu interrupted arrogantly, and the ministers gasped in shock.

They had expected her to say something humble like “my spiritual roots are depleted, so I am not a competent candidate to be the queen of the kingdom”, but to their surprise, Feng Ruchu actually had the audacity to tell the emperor to his face that she never cared for the title of crown princess.

A crown princess meant the queen-to-be once the crown prince succeeded the throne, and there would be no one above her other than the emperor.

Feng Ruchu rolled her eyes at the ministers’ narrow minds.

“Your Majesty, I might be average-looking and a good-for-nothing, but I was raised in a proper family. I consider myself a daughter of a decent family, if not a noble one,” said Feng Ruchu directly.

“I am not frivolous. I don’t cause trouble. I am not narrow-minded. I don’t mess around with love affairs. I fulfil my promises. And I take things seriously and am responsible for them.”

“I am a decent and proper girl, and I think I deserve a man who loves me that I can share the rest of my life with. As for the crown prince…” Feng Ruchu’s eyes blazed with disdain as she scoffed.
