The Great Trump Card - Chapter 88

Lin Huai grinned. He didn’t need Captain Wang to explain any further, so he smiled calmly and said, “I understand.”

“Seems like you’re indeed a smart guy. Since you’re smart, you shouldn’t have reacted so quickly in the first place. You had no foundation or relationship with anyone else outside of college, and you’re considered an outsider. I hope that you have a solution to this, instead of merely understanding the facts,” Captain Wang said with a smile. “I’ve heard about the rules you set after uniting everyone in Yulan College. I really admire a young man like you. If you face any problems in the future, please call me.”

Lin Huai understood that connections were a powerful tool for success, hence he immediately returned the kind gesture with a smile and said, “Thank you for the reminder, Captain Wang. Let’s have a meal together when we’re free.”

Captain Wang agreed gracefully. He was obviously trying to build a good relationship with Lin Huai; to him, he wasn’t sure about Lin Huai’s future, but he would be at no loss if he built a good relationship with Lin Huai in advance. Who knew? He might need him in the future.

Of course, he simply needed to be polite toward Lin Huai in terms of wording. He didn’t see the point of building a close friendship with him, yet. Even though he was now the leader of the whole college, he wasn’t qualified to be his friend at the moment.

Lin Huai left together with Wei Qimian. They didn’t go far when two of Wei Qimian’s bodyguards approached them and said solemnly, “Miss Wei, Mr. Wei wants you home.”

Wei Qimian replied, “Don’t you see that I’m with Lin Huai? Lin Huai was specifically hired by my dad to be my bodyguard.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Wei. Mr. Lin Huai was dismissed long ago,” the two bodyguards replied bluntly.

Wei Qimian asked in surprise, “How did you get dismissed?”

Lin Huai replied with a smile, “You haven’t heard yet. The last time I was arrested and locked up, your dad wanted me to stop interfering in college matters. I didn’t agree with him, hence he fired me.”

Wei Qimian did feel that something wasn’t right back then. When Lin Huai told her the truth, she frowned and said, “I must find out the truth from my dad. My dad is a legitimate businessman. He wouldn’t be involved in such matters since it brings no profit to him.”

“It seems so, but I wouldn’t know the specifics,” Lin Huai replied. “Forget it, you should head back with them.”

“No.” Wei Qimian frowned as she said, “My dad wants me to transfer to a new college right away. I never wanted to transfer. I’m heading back to my dorm. I have rehearsals tonight, and you’re coming with me.”

Lin Huai smiled bitterly and said, “Too many things happened today, why are you still going to rehearsal? Let’s wait till tomorrow. Head back home and have a good rest. I would probably need to rest as well.”

Wei Qimian thought for a moment and agreed. She let go of Lin Huai’s hands reluctantly and waved. “Goodbye.”

“Goodbye, see you tomorrow.”

Lin Huai watched as Wei Qimian hopped into the car. He finally retracted his hands when the car was driven away from his sight. He placed his fingers on the tip of his nose and smelled them. A smile blossomed on his face. It seemed like Mianmian and his relationship had improved; she even took the initiative to hold his hands today.

In addition, Lin Huai was most joyful about the fact that the employer-employee relationship between Wei Qimian and himself had been terminated, which meant that he could finally take action on Wei Qimian—he could finally pursue Wei Qimian outrightly.

He felt elated when he thought about this.

No, I should pay Li Qianqian a visit tonight. What the heck? How could I be thinking of visiting Li Qianqian on such a joyous moment? Why am I such a scum? But I have no choice. I’m afraid that Li Qianqian would be worried about me if I don’t visit her. That’s right, that’s the only reason why I want to visit her.

Lin Huai created excuses for himself, then called a taxi and headed toward Li Qianqian’s house.

The taxi stopped in front of her house. Lin Huai glanced around, and did not find any surveillance camera. However, it didn’t mean that there were none; perhaps he just didn’t notice any.

Lin Huai knocked on the door. Li Qianqian opened the door and stood there in her nightgown. Lin Huai immediately said solemnly, “Why are you in your nightgown when you’re opening the door? What if a pervert appeared?

Li Qianqian couldn’t help laughing, and her eyes were flirtatious as she answered, “I opened the door because I saw from the peephole that a pervert was standing outside, and it was you.”

Oh gosh, her smile was extremely luscious, and he couldn’t control himself.

Lin Huai entered and hugged Li Qianqian in his arms with one hand and shut the door with the other. He smirked mischievously as he said, “Little hussy, are you desperate to be eaten by this pervert?”

“What do you think…”

“I won’t say anything. I’ll just do…”

Lin Huai scooped Li Qianqian up by the waist and carried her upstairs. He walked into her bedroom and had sex with her in eagerness.

After some intense actions, they lay down on the bed with their bodies in each other’s embrace. Li Qianqian leaned on Lin Huai’s chest and asked softly, “I heard that you have resolved the issues in college, is that true?”

“Who told you that? Wei Sihai?”

“Yes.” Li Qianqian hesitated for a moment and said, “Chairman Wei wanted me to inform you that you may leave anytime soon. He wants you to stop interfering with Yulan College matters.”

Lin Huai’s gaze became icy cold; this was as he expected. He sneered as he asked, “What on earth was your boss plotting?”

“I don’t care, and you shouldn’t too. I think you should listen to our boss’ instruction. You’ve done enough.”

“Indeed,” Lin Huai said with a smile. “Since I’ve done so much, it wouldn’t make a difference to do a little more.”

Li Qianqian sighed faintly and said, “I knew that I can’t persuade you. Ever since I saw your sense of justice when you were talking about Yulan College, I knew that I could never change your mind.”

Lin Huai’s eyes were shining bright as he asked, “Your chairman must have known that I would be here, hence he specifically asked for your help to persuade me.”

Li Qianqian hesitated for a moment and hummed in agreement.

Lin Huai then asked, “Are you the one who told him about it?”

While Li Qianqian was still hesitating, Lin Huai answered his own question. “Of course not, because your chairman was the one who sent someone to watch over you previously. Am I right?”

Li Qianqian gritted her teeth and replied, “That is not important.”

“This is important!” The look in Lin Huai’s eyes became fierce. “Previously, when you were sent to the hospital and got your head bandaged due to an injury, I have been wondering about it. You’re not in a relationship, and you’re not the kind of person who would cause any trouble outside. In addition, you have the status and power because you’re working in Wei Family Group. Who would want to hurt you? It’s getting obvious now that Wei Sihai was the person who hurt you. Am I right?”

Li Qianqian started; she seemed to be scared.

Lin Huai’s tone was icy cold as he uttered word by word, “Is there someone else who dared to hurt my woman?”
