In that dark area, the owner of that pair of eyes stood up suddenly. That person’s eyes possessed a terrifying yet imposing aura. Once he stood up, his body emanated a horrifying murderous intent that would make someone’s blood run cold.
“Come on,” the person spoke in a bone-chilling manner. “Tonight, let me continue to take on all of you to test out my skills.”
Those people gulped out of nervousness as their legs trembled severely. For these few days, they had been continuously tortured by Li Kandao who had been imprisoned here. When this young man named Li Kandao first came in, they’d even thought of bullying him like how they would normally do to any newcomers. Pu Yingxue shook her head resignedly with a smile on her lips. “Both of you can rehearse it here then. Remember to memorise the lyrics, as well as the melody. I’m saying this to you, Lin Huai. Qimian should have familiarized herself with the song already.
“Be rest assured, I will make sure to complete my task!”
Pu Yingxue left after that to supervise other people. Lin Huai stared at Wei Qimian as he gave a devilish smile. “It’s just the both of us here, a man and a woman in the middle of the night…”
Wei Qimian rolled her eyes at Lin Huai and said, “If you dare to mess with me, I’ll cut that thing of yours off.”
Lin Huai guffawed at her response. “Just kidding, I was just kidding. I’m not such an indecent person. Alright, let’s not joke around anymore. We should put our focus on rehearsing.”
“Shame on you.”
What was surprising to Wei Qimian was Lin Huai’s singing talent was indeed beyond her expectations. It was his first time listening to the song but he could already perform it perfectly in less than half an hour. Both of them sang the duet with the microphones in the room. As Pu Yingxue opened the door, a look of surprise was evident on her face as she entered the room. She had been listening quietly outside the door, and once the song ended, she applauded and praised, “Both of you sang the song perfectly! I’m pretty sure that your performance would be the main focus of this gala.”
Wei Qimian responded shyly, “Teacher, you are flattering us.”
“I mean it. Qimian, even though you are not as professional as Lin Huai, you have a beautiful voice. As for Lin Huai, I don’t even need to mention how good you are as you are a graduate of a music academy after all. But since it’s really late now, we will choreograph the dance moves tomorrow instead. Lin Huai and Wei Qimian responded at once and walked out of the room together; both of them were still immersed in the subtle emotions from the duet just now and they held each other’s hands without them realizing it. Pu Yingxue who was standing beside them saw their action, sighed quietly yet said nothing.
Lin Huai returned to his dormitory to rest after this first rehearsal, nothing special happened for the remainder of the night. After having breakfast the next morning, Lin Huai set down his chopsticks and prepared to leave with his dormitory mates. Lin Huai smiled at him and said, “His return is not a big deal. Why are you putting on such a strange expression?”
