The Great Trump Card - Chapter 58

Lin Huai came downstairs and wanted to smoke if not for the cab driver who was still waiting for him.

It was very stressful being a bodyguard. Actually, tonight’s incident was nothing in Lin Huai’s eyes. As a bodyguard over this period of time, Lin Huai had seen much more cruel things that were ten or hundred times worse than tonight’s incident. He was constantly living on the edge of life and death but there were still many things Lin Huai could not let go of. And it was fortunate. If everyone could let go of all their beliefs, there would be a lot of issues that nobody will tend to.

Lin Huai boarded the cab and returned back to Yulan College. On the way, Lin Huai thought about everything that had happened while he was on this mission. After he compiled and summarized the information, he realized that Wei Sihai had to be implicated and was part of the reason why the college was in a mess. At the very least, everything happened through the connivance of Wei Sihai. Not only that, Zhou Minghu had come into contact with gangsters outside of college and he was prepared to be involved in the drug trade. Yet, Wei Sihai had with so much certainty said that Zhou Minghu would not partake in the drug trade. It could be seen that Wei Sihai was trying to cover up for Zhou Minghu.

In that case, things were about to get complicated. Yulan College was founded and built by Wei Sihai’s deceased wife. Why would Wei Sihai allow college discipline to get so havoc? Furthermore, what could he benefit from the havoc?

Lin Huai was tempted to sing a song. “Oh my gosh, my heart hurts. My heart hurts, it really hurts…”

Lin Huai actually gave his own head a knock. All of a sudden, his eyes lit up and he smiled bitterly. He thought in his heart, “How dumb I am! Why did I limit my sights to the college? Couldn’t things be related to outside forces? Yulan College is in so much havoc, and one of its biggest purposes is to become the breeding ground for gangsters. Many of the students that graduated from Yulan College are key members of the outside gangs. Could Wei Sihai be working with outside forces?

Lin Huai’s expression turned somber and he had an icy gaze. There was also a chilly aura radiating from his body. If Wei Sihai really did that, then it would be a big problem. It was a pity. If that was the truth, then what about Wei Qimian?

The cab driver turned around and took a look. His heart was struck with fear. He had no idea why, but he was creeped out in a way that made his hair stand.

Finally, the cab arrived at the entrance of the college and Lin Huai left the cab. The driver heaved a sigh of relief and patted his chest. He wondered and murmured, “That’s weird. What happened just now? Why did the feeling disappear once the passenger alighted?”

Throughout their life, ordinary people like him would never understand the concept of murderous intent.

Lin Huai returned to his dormitory room and suddenly made a decision in his heart. This college had to change. Since Wei Sihai and the outside forces wished for the college to maintain its havoc state, Lin Huai would have to think of a way to bring peace to the college. By then, it could be seen what they planned to do, and Wei Sihai might slip up and reveal his true intent.

Lin Huai lay down on his bed and as everyone turned off their lights and were getting ready for bed, Lin Huai suddenly said, “I have decided to lead all of you to conquer the whole Yulan College.”

Everyone was still awake and their eyes popped open. Their eyes sparkled with excitement and buzz.

Lin Huai smiled slightly and said, “I want to conquer Yulan College and reform the tone of the college. Therefore, you all better not have thoughts of dominating the college and joining the gangsters in the future. If you have such thoughts then don’t follow me. So, are you all still interested?”

Wu Jun coldly said, “Brother Huai, I will support any decision you make!”

Wu Mengjie excitedly said, “Me too. Whether it is to become the big boss of the college, or to change the tone of the college, both sounds exciting, and I will definitely support you all the way.”

Zhuang Bifan awkwardly smiled and said, “Well… I am not exactly capable, so as long as you all don’t find me a burden, I am okay with it.”

Fan Hanning said, “I am the same too.”

Wu Jun coldly said, “Wang Hongwei might not be here in person. But if he was, he would most certainly be the first one to support Brother Huai’s idea. Therefore, it could be said that the whole of our dormitory room is on Brother Huai’s side now.”

Everyone agreed, one after another.

Lin Huai said, “Alright, Wu Jun, head to the dormitory rooms and gather all of the class leaders from the computer science major, from the freshmen to the third year students, and ask them to come here.”

Wu Jun acknowledged and headed off to fulfil his orders. The rest of them also sat up in excitement and rubbed their palms together. They had never been this excited before. A week ago, they were still weaklings who had to bow and be submissive to anyone they met. However, within such a short period of time, they had become key members of Lin Huai’s rule. Naturally, their status had also risen accordingly. Within the computer science major, they were able to feel everyone’s change of attitude toward them. They did not even dare to think about how things would be after they conquered Yulan College.

Very soon, the rest of the eleven class leaders had arrived. The dormitory room was full with people. Two people were even standing in the center as there was no more space around.

All the leaders arrived and they were all extremely cautious in their behavior. It did not matter if they were freshmen or third year students, all of them greeted Brother Huai.

Lin Huai smiled and said, “Since you all addressed me as Brother Huai, I cannot let you respect me in vain. From today onward, the whole lot of you will be my followers. This includes you and all your henchmen. All of you are under my purview. If anyone bullies you all in the future, that would mean bullying me, Lin Huai, as well. As such, I will help you retaliate. Does anyone have any objections?”

Lin Huai spoke as he observed the group of people. All of the freshmen were respectful and in awe whereas the sophomores and the third year students were a little against the idea. In his heart, Lin Huai knew what was really up. Even though the sophomores knew his abilities, no matter what, most of them used to be followers of Zhang Chunlei and he had forced Zhang Chunlei out of Yulan College. Naturally, it would be impossible for them to not hold any grudges against him.

As for the third year students, it was clear that as leaders of third year seniors, they were unhappy about having to take orders from a freshman. They were already resentful of the fact that they were forced to control their classmates from being rowdy during class. To make matters worse, Lin Huai had now openly forced them to pledge their loyalty to him. The main reason why these people could be leaders in their respective classes were due to their rebellious nature. How could they possibly submit to Lin Huai willingly?

Bo Chengjie, the class leader of Lin Huai’s neighboring class, loudly announced, “Brother Huai, when you managed to eliminate Big Lei, I was already willing to submit to you. I have six henchmen in my class and from today onward, all of us pledge our loyalty to you and will obey all of your orders!”

Freshman class leaders from the other two classes also hurriedly pledged their support for Lin Huai. Lin Huai smiled and nodded his acknowledgement. He then looked at the class leaders of the sophomores and third year students. He smiled and said, “These three brothers have already expressed their thoughts, what about the rest of you? Feel free to speak up.”

A few of the sophomores had first hand experience with how scary Lin Huai could be. Thus, even though they were resentful, they did not dare to be the first one to speak up. Eventually, a third year class leader stood up and said, “Brother Huai, I am used to having the freedom to do anything I want and I cannot fathom the thought of being constrained. Not only that, previously, Big Lei did not insist that the third year seniors obey his orders. Yet, now you want us third year seniors to just listen to you? To me, it’s not much of a problem. However, I am afraid that my henchmen would not be willing to submit.”

Lin Huai acknowledged and nodded his head. Then, all of a sudden, he erupted and grabbed the hair of the tall and sturdy third year senior. He violently smashed the senior’s head onto the iron frame of the bed. Another third year senior stood up and shouted, “A freshman is trying to control us seniors. If we do not fight back, we will be oppressed and he will have control over us. Let’s fight back!”

Just as he completed his speech, he was hit hard on the back of his head and instantly felt very dizzy. It turned out that Wu Jun had taken a brick that was hidden under his bed and smacked the back of the senior’s head. He swung hard and without hesitation. Wu Mengjie also erupted. Along with Fan Hanning, Zhuang Bifan, and Wu Jun, they pinned the seniors onto the ground and kicked them viciously.

Just as the rest of the sophomores and third year students were about to lend a hand, they saw the condition of the senior that had first gone up against Lin Huai. He was completely annihilated by Lin Huai and there was blood all over his head. The remaining third year seniors were fear-stricken and immediately sat properly back down. They held their breath and didn’t dare to make any noise.

Very soon, Wu Jun and the rest managed to resolve the other senior who was against Lin Huai’s proposition.

Lin Huai smiled and said, “Like I said, if anyone is against my opinion, feel free to speak up. We are a democratic party. Anyone have anything else to say?”

The remaining sophomore and third year class leaders looked at each other. All of them hurriedly declared, “I am willing to pledge my support for Brother Huai.”

“That’s right. In the history of the computer science major, there has never been someone as courageous and valiant like Brother Huai. By being Brother Huai’s followers, we can avoid getting bullied by people from other majors,” said a third year senior who was trying to kiss up to Lin Huai.

Lin Huai smiled and said, “You are very right. By rolling with me, you all can even avoid getting bullied by the sports major.”

Upon hearing Lin Huai’s words, they were all in shock. The sports major was the real big boss of this college. In terms of fighting prowess, if they were to compare themselves to the sports major, the computer science major was nothing.

Zhuang Bifan who was next to Lin Huai suddenly said, “Can you all see the watch on Brother Huai’s wrist? That was a gift from Zhou Minghu to congratulate Brother Huai on becoming the new gang leader of the computer science major.”

All of them were terrified upon hearing that. That was Zhou Minghu! In their eyes, he was like a god. And yet, he actually gave Lin Huai a present. Suddenly, none of them dared to go against Lin Huai anymore.

At this moment, the two seniors who were lying down on the ground regretted deeply in their hearts. If they had known this earlier, they would not have been the first to stand up and go against Lin Huai. If even Zhou Minghu acknowledged Lin Huai’s position, who were they to go against him?

One of the seniors who were beaten up by Lin Huai stood up while holding his head. He grinned sheepishly and said, “Brother Huai, I am sorry, I swear to be your loyal follower until my death.”

Lin Huai smiled and said, “Alright! Head to the infirmary and get yourself treated.”

“Thank-thank you, Brother Huai.”

Just as he was about to head out, Lin Huai suddenly said, “Hang on.”

The senior froze in his spot. Could it be that Lin Huai wanted to make an example out of him? He was extremely fearful.

Lin Huai said, “Gather all your henchmen and followers and bring them to the field tomorrow after classes. I want to carry out an inspection.”

Everyone was bewildered. Inspection? Even such things needed an inspection?

They had never heard of anybody holding an inspection on the college field when they became the big boss, not even the most savage gang leaders in the history of the college.

However, now that Lin Huai had given the orders, they had no choice but to quickly acknowledge and agree to it. Lin Huai said, “Alright, you all may leave now.”

The group of people left in a hurry and the two injured seniors naturally headed toward the infirmary together.

Once the group of people left, Fan Hanning curiously asked, “Brother Huai, isn’t an inspection too high profile?”

“Nope! High profile is what I am looking for!” Lin Huai grinned. “It’s to agitate and irritate the gang leaders of the sports major!”

Fan Hanning and the rest were stunned. Lin Huai wanted to pick a fight!
