The Great Trump Card - Chapter 44

The sophomores were psychologically stronger than the freshmen. They saw Zhang Heng get stabbed and threatened by Dao Zi. And although they were afraid, they still rushed forward with determination. A portion of them attacked Dao Zi while the other group attacked Lin Huai.

Pu Chengji grabbed a concrete block off the ground, then stared at Wu Jun and the others and shouted, “What are you all standing there for? Let’s go!”

“Stop fighting! Stop fighting!” Hu Zhiqiang screamed at the top of his lungs. However, nobody cared. Zhang Chunlei and Lin Huai already had grudges against each other. Unless one party surrendered today, neither would willingly compromise.

Hu Zhiqiang panicked and stomped his feet. “What should we do? Things are going to turn ugly. Where are the security guards? Why are they not here?”

Pu Yingxue cried and shouted, “Stop fighting, stop fighting! All of you, stop!”

Wei Qimian held on to Pu Yingxue and sighed. “Teacher, there is no point in trying to stop them. Until their fight is resolved, they will not stop. Teacher, hurry and send Zhang Heng to the hospital.”

Hu Zhiqiang finally came to his senses and realized that Zhang Heng was still on the ground clutching his chest. He quickly ordered a few students to send Zhang Heng to the hospital. Zhang Heng’s teacher paled and quickly said, “I have a car. Take my car to the hospital.”

There was no point in Zhang Heng staying back. He might as well go to the hospital. Actually, the wound was not deep at all. However, the gushing blood would scare anybody. Furthermore, the stab wound was at the abdomen. Even Zhang Heng, who was injured, had already wet his pants.

Pu Yingxue murmured, “What can we do? What can we do? If anything happens to any of them, it would be my fault.”

Wei Qimian said, “Teacher, don’t worry. Some of them might end up in the hospital, but nobody would commit murder. Furthermore, since we can’t stop them, there is no point in worrying.”

Deep down, Wei Qimian was actually worried too. Lin Huai was strong, but with so many people attacking him at once, it would still be a problem. No matter how capable he was, he could not face off so many people at the same time. On top of that, in a group brawl, things could easily get out of control. After all, you had no idea who was beating you up. Wei Qimian’s palms broke out in cold sweat.

Wei Qimian was also prepared to lend a hand once the dust settled. Even if Lin Huai was not injured, the college administrators would be furious. Zhang Chunlei and the other leaders of the college had plenty of wriggle room as there were many henchmen. Thus, the punishment would be evenly spread out among them. The college would not expel so many people at one time. However, when it came to Lin Huai, the college would not hesitate to expel him.

Therefore, Wei Qimian understood that if Lin Huai were to remain in college, he would need her help. Ever since she started at this college, she had never used her status to gain preferential treatment. This time around, she had to break that rule for Lin Huai. She was hoping that nobody would lose their life, and that injuries would be as bad as it could get. If anyone were to lose their life, even Wei Qimian’s family background was no use.

Wei Qimian balled her fists and prayed in her heart, all the while paying close attention to what was transpiring.

Lin Huai was surrounded by several dozens of people. Pu Chengji and the others screamed and rushed forward. Pu Chengji was a rather loyal brother, but when it came to fighting prowess, he was absolute trash. He was beaten down to the ground very quickly. Fan Hanning was also easily beaten up. The worst was Zhuang Bifan, who collapsed to the ground even before anybody could lay their hands on him. A few students then surrounded and kicked him.

On the other hand, Wu Jun and Wu Mengjie were rather good in fighting. Both of them worked together and could face off twice the number of people. Although they looked like they were in bad shape, they were still standing.

As for Lin Huai who was at the center of the fight, nobody fancied his odds despite not being able to see what was happening.

Security guards arrived from afar, but there was still some distance between them and the brawl. The discipline teacher was also running toward the fight. He looked tall and mighty, and even had a domineering name—Zhang Dabiao. It made sense that only a ferocious person like him could control the students of such a messed-up college.

Rumors had it that Zhang Dabiao was so fierce and furious that even the college leaders were afraid of him. He was someone who was not afraid to lay hands on the students. Furthermore, each time you were summoned to his office or to the meeting room, you would be all by yourself. Even if you were beaten up, there was no evidence for you to sue him. Back then, there was a student who reported his incident to the Ministry of Education. However, the discipline teacher denied the actions. Eventually, the student returned to the college where he was severely beaten up by Zhang Dabiao. From then onward, nobody dared to challenge his authority.

Zhang Dabiao ran over furiously. He shouted, “What are you all doing? Stop right now and scatter away!”

Usually, Zhang Dabiao needed to say only a few words and the students would all scatter and leave. This time around, things were different; the fight continued.

Liu Meiqi also got closer. She had a frown on her face as she was worried. Another tall and lean girl was with her. The girl was dressed in a long black skirt. She was almost 1.8 meters tall, slightly taller than Liu Meiqi. She had an ice-cold expression on her face. Yet, she looked exceptionally beautiful. At the very least, she was as beautiful as Liu Meiqi.

The ice-cold woman stopped and said with an icy voice, “We can watch the fight from here. Don’t have to get too close. Looks like the guy you fancy is going down today.”

Liu Meiqi bit her lips. She was not willing to give up. “Finally I met a guy who can offer me some sort of challenge. He is so stubborn. How dare he fight Zhang Chunlei with only two people?”

The ice-cold woman said, “A wise man would play to the situation. This proves that the guy you fancy is a courageous brawn without a brain. He is not worth your attention.”

Liu Meiqi looked at her and begged, “Sister, can you go and give him a hand? If you show up, Zhang Chunlei would not dare to continue anymore.”

The ice-cold woman shook her head. She stared at the messy situation on the football field and said, “In my opinion, these types of worthless guys are not worth saving. Fairy Qi, I advise you to stop having thoughts anymore. Look for another guy to pursue and court. Besides, don’t you think you are flirting with guys way too often?”

Liu Meiqi pouted and said, “Can you blame me for that? Nowadays, guys are simply not attractive at all. They do not capture my attention. Lin Huai was the odd one out. I have really fallen for him!”

“It’s more of a desire for something you cannot attain. To me, he looks like an ordinary person…” Suddenly, she stopped talking and her eyes popped out.

Zhang Hongdi, who was watching from afar, also stood up to leave. He said, “It’s over!”

Just as he was about to turn around, he heard Zhang Jindong exclaim, “My god! What happened?”

Zhang Hongdi turned around. Upon seeing what had happened, his eyes popped out.

To everyone’s surprise, the crowd of students that surrounded Lin Huai on the football field were all knocked down. To be fair, Lin Huai also looked like he was in bad shape. There were footprints all over his body and his clothes were torn apart. He was breathing heavily and had bruises on his face. However, at the end of the day, he did manage to defeat forty people all by himself. That was shocking and appalling!

Lin Huai’s heavy breathing was actually fake. He felt like he had to put on an act so that nobody would suspect that something was amiss. He was supposed to be a student, and no matter how capable a student was, he definitely could not come out of a group fight unscathed. Therefore, he had to put on a front and act like he was tired, as if a few people had managed to land blows on him. Only a few of the blows were real. The rest were purposely planned.

Zhang Chunlei was supposed to be watching the show. His henchmen were supposed to handle the situation while he—the boss—did nothing. There were dozens of people behind him, and the rest were still attacking Dao Zi. When he saw the majority of his henchmen on the ground wailing in pain, he was dumbfounded.

He used to think that Dao Zi was powerful, but even Dao Zi could not do this!

As expected, everyone stopped. Even the group of people attacking Dao Zi moved away and stared at Lin Huai.

Dao Zi was already lying on the ground. A couple of other people who were attacking him were knocked down as well. In these group brawls, Dao Zi’s dagger skills were no use as a small mistake could lead to someone’s death. Even if Dao Zi had the guts to stab someone, he did not dare to risk another person’s life. Thus, he was at a huge disadvantage.

Upon seeing the people around him move away, Dao Zi struggled and got up. Lin Huai stared at him and complimented, “Good job!”

Zhang Chunlei looked at Lin Huai furiously and said, “Fine! You are stronger than I expected. However, that only gives me more reason to not let you leave this place in one piece!”

“You talk too much!” Lin Huai rushed over and grabbed Zhang Chunlei by the throat. He kicked Zhang Chunlei in the chest and pinned him to the ground. Lin Huai punched him over and over again. Blood gushed out of his mouth and nose. His face was also swollen.

Nobody expected Lin Huai to be so swift and decisive in his actions. He was smart enough to capture their leader and this stunned everyone.

Just as the rest of the crowd was about to rush forward, Lin Huai stood up and placed his feet on Zhang Chunlei’s face. Then, he glanced fiercely at the crowd and said sternly, “If anyone makes another move, I will smash his face up!”

On one hand, these students were terrified of Lin Huai. On the other, their boss was still under Lin Huai’s foot. Thus, they all kept quiet.

Lin Huai stared at Zhang Chunlei who was under his foot. Zhang Chunlei glared at him with hatred, but Lin Huai did not mind this. Instead, he grinned. “Big Lei, as long as you vow to transfer out and no longer remain in this college, I will let you go.”

“Nonsense! In your dreams!”

Zhang Chunlei went through alot of trouble to get to where he was today. He would not give things up so easily.

Lin Huai smiled. “Then you cannot blame me for what’s about to happen.”

Suddenly, Zhang Chunlei felt fear grip his heart. From his vantage point, Lin Huai’s smiling face looked like the devil’s grin.
