Li Qianqian lay down with her eyes shut. However, Lin Huai knew that she was not asleep. Based on the rhythm of her breath, she was obviously very nervous. Her feigned sleep suggested that she was probably telling the truth—she had not been with a man for many years. Tonight was a rare occasion when she let her hair down. Lin Huai snuggled under Li Qianqian’s blanket and moved his body closer to hers. He then reached his arm out and hugged her waist softly—her smooth, soft, tender, and slim waist.
This time, Li Qianqian could not just ignore him anymore. With a shy moan, she opened her eyes, as if she had just awakened. She blushed and said coyly, “Don’t do that, you’re prod… prodding me.”
Li Qianqian’s voice trembled and her breathing became rapid.
Lin Huai laughed cheekily. “Do you remember the first time we met?”
“I-I remember, it was only a few days ago.”

“I-I didn’t mean it that way.” Li Qianqian’s voice was shaking. “That thing of yours, why is it so hard and warm?”
Lin Huai replied with a naughty smile, “Back when you were in university…”
At that mention, Lin Huai noticed Li Qianqian’s body stiffened. He immediately realized his mistake. To mention that now was a real killjoy.
As Lin Huai wrecked his brain for ways to salvage the situation, Li Qianqian sighed and said, “That happened only once. Back then, we were together for two years and had an argument. Soon after, I found out that he was cheating on me at that point of time. He already had plans to leave. He merely wanted to ‘conquer’ me just once before breaking up.”
Lin Huai was angry. “What a sick guy.”
Li Qianqian forced a smile and replied, “So what? We were not married, not even registered. Even if we were married, there’s always divorce. What could I have done?”
Lin Huai sighed. “You are right.”
Li Qianqian continued, “I’ve not dated another man since, nor have I even considered anything of this sort. If it wasn’t for my mood today, I wouldn’t have let you into my house.”
Lin Huai laughed. “Now that I am here, you wouldn’t lock me out next time, would you?”
Li Qianqian replied with a blush, “You are an exception.”
“Being handsome does give you an edge.” Lin Huai laughed. “Is this some special privilege that only handsome men have?”
Li Qianqian let out a hhmmp. Her voice was naturally pleasant, and this sound sent a jolt straight to Lin Huai’s lower body. Lin Huai grabbed Li Qianqian’s hand and asked in an urgent voice, “Is it time for you to use your hand?”

When they were done, Lin Huai headed to the washroom and cleaned up. After that, he returned to bed and hugged Li Qianqian again. Li Qianqian struggled and pouted, “Don’t be naughty anymore.”

Lin Huai slept well and undisturbed that night. It had been many days since he’d had a good night’s sleep, waking up past nine in the morning. When he opened his eyes, Li Qianqian was still fast asleep in his arms.
Lin Huai climbed out of bed carefully. He was about to put on his clothes when the phone rang suddenly and woke Li Qianqian from her slumber. He smiled apologetically and picked up the phone to glance at the caller’s ID. He then forced a smile and said, “It is your boss. My guess is that it’s pertaining to Mianmian.”
Li Qianqian’s expression changed slightly. Then, she smiled and urged, “Okay, answer the phone.”
Lin Huai tapped on the screen, said his pleasantries, and heard Wei Sihai’s voice from the other end. “Mr. Lin, Mianmian has an appointment tonight. The nanny just told me that Mianmian gave her a heads up that she won’t be home for dinner. The nanny also purposely eavesdropped and learned that the 5pm appointment will be at the He family’s hotel located on Xiang Jiang Road.
“Xiang Jiang Road? Okay, I’ll take care of it.”
Wei Sihai acknowledged and politely replied, “Then, I’ll trouble you, Mr. Lin. I have another meeting to attend, so I have to make a move.”
“Please go ahead, this is within my job scope anyway. As long as I am around, Mianmian will be fine.”
Lin Huai hung up the phone.

Upon hearing the stories, Li Qianqian was shocked. She exclaimed, “No way, and they still dare lay eyes on Miss Mianmian? Do they not fear death? Why don’t you bring this matter up with Boss? He can personally resolve it.”
Lin Huai gave her a forceful smile. “Personally resolve it? Without evidence, would Mr. Wei have the courage to lay his hands on the Public Security Bureau chief’s son?”
“He is the chief of the local office,” Li Qianqian said with a smile. “Nonetheless, he is a person of high authority and power. Thus, without anything substantial, making a move on him will not be easy.”
“That is why I am waiting for them to act first,” Lin Huai replied. “We cannot always stay on the defensive when protecting someone. Sometimes, we have to give the offenders a taste of their own medicine. Since we are not sure when to expect them, it is best to nip any potential issue in the bud.”
“You are right,” Li Qianqian sighed emotionally. “But not everyone has the courage to do that. It is my guess that any other bodyguard would have reported this matter at once. Then, the ball is in the CEO’s court. That way, they stay out of trouble. After all, accidents can happen anytime.”
“There are no accidents with me around,” Lin Huai chuckled and continued. “Excuse me while I make a phone call.”
Lin Huai pulled up his contact list and gave Pu Chengji a call. Lin Huai told him, “You wanted to tag along when I work, right? This evening at 5pm, He Family’s hotel on Xiang Jiang Road. Stay hidden and wait for me somewhere nearby there.”
“Alright.” Pu Chengji was excited. “That is amazing. I can finally work for Brother Huai. Please can you disclose just one detail about our plans?”
“You will find out tonight. I guarantee that you will not regret this trip,” Lin Huai said with a mysterious smile on his face.
After hanging up, Lin Huai said with a grin, “Allow me to stay with you just a little longer. And then I’m off to save the world.”
Li Qianqian asked, “Is the Wan family going to be in trouble?”
