As soon as Lin Huai entered Yulan College’s main gate on the next morning, he immediately saw a group of boys chasing a guy all across the field. They beat the guy up once they caught up to him.
Lin Huai thought, Gosh! There are already fights right at the school gate. The students in this school surely are reckless. But they’re all in their young and impetuous phase, so brawls and scuffles aren’t really strange.
A middle-aged man with glasses had passed by the students who were fighting. Many students that passed by addressed him as “teacher”. This middle-aged teacher replied with a nod while walking by the fighting students. He could actually stay undistracted, nor did he step up to stop the scene.
Lin Huai’s eyes popped out. He thought, Even if you’re not the class teacher of these students, shouldn’t you have stepped up and stop this? You have actually ignored it when you saw the students fighting in campus right in front of you.
Lin Huai also saw a young couple kissing in the shade of a tree. They kissed while touching each other and they moaned. Lin Huai’s eyes popped out and a certain body part was getting excited, “Gosh! This has almost turned my world upside down. Is this going to be an erotic short film?”
Lin Huai stopped looking at these inappropriate and sexually arousing scenes. He looked around, there were a few blocks of buildings in the campus but he wasn’t sure which block belonged to the Department of Computer Science. Coincidentally, there were two young girls with captivating figures in front of him. Lin Huai immediately shouted, “Excuse me, I would like to ask you about something.”
The two girls stopped and turned to Lin Huai, they then giggled.
The girl on the left looked ordinary but the girl on the right looked pretty. This was mainly attributable to the fact that she dressed very fashionably for her age. She had light blonde hair and wore a miniskirt that exposed her belly button. Her big watery eyes were somewhat charming. When she realised Lin Huai was watching her, she winked at him flirtatiously and laughed seductively, “Little hottie, what would you like to ask?”
Lin Huai thought, Am I too handsome? This little girl’s gaze seems to be inviting me to do something indescribable! D*mn, it can’t be like this, I’m here to perform the mission. In order to perform the mission well, I have to foster the image of a perfect man in front of this fair lady, Wei Qimian!
Lin Huai took a breath and said, “Where’s the staff room of the Department of Computer Science?”
The fashionable girl squinted her eyes. Her voice was affectedly sweet and carried the scent of attractiveness, “You just wanna ask about this?”
“Yeah, just this.”
“En.” The fashionable girl said, “Go across the basketball court. It’s on the third floor of the building in front.”
“Okay, thank you.”
Although Wei Qimian was beautiful, she hadn’t reached Wei Qimian’s level that would make Lin Huai’s heart fluttered.
Seeing Lin Huai wanted to walk away immediately, these two girls were both stunned. The fashionable girl shouted pantingly, “Hey! Don’t you wanna ask for my name?”
“Oh, what’s your name?” Lin Huai turned around for a glance.
Seeing such apathetic attitude from Lin Huai, the fashionable girl said even furiously, “I won’t tell you!”
The fashionable girl left immediately after she spoke. The girl next to her was still laughing non-stop, “Sister Qi, you’re humiliated this time. He’s not interested in you.”
The fashionable girl had her face became gloomy and snorted when she heard the girl make such a comment. She beckoned to two nearby boys and said icily while pointed at Lin Huai, “Follow him for me. Ask around what is he doing in the Department of Computer Science.”
“Okay, Sister Qi.” These two boys bowed and scraped before the fashionable girl. They quietly followed in Lin Huai’s direction.
“En, first go across the basketball court…” A basketball flew over and bounced on the ground right when Lin Huai reached the basketball court. It then slowly rolled and stopped next to Lin Huai’s feet.
The tallest boy pointed at Lin Huai struttingly, “You! Bring over the basketball!”
Lin Huai dazed. He looked at the basketball near his feet and pointed at himself – Are you talking about me?
The tall boy showed his anger immediately and cursed, “Motherf*cker, what are you waiting for? I’m talking about you!”
Lin Huai picked up the basketball with a smile and juggled it. The tall boy’s face eased up a little and the other boys smiled disdainfully.
“Okay, bring it over. Which class are you from? You’re so senseless.” At least the tall boy’s tone wasn’t as aggressive as it was, but his attitude was still bad.
Lin Huai said smilingly, “Freshman in the Department of Computer Science.”
“Freshman in Computer Science?” A boy next to the tall boy immediately laughed and flattered, “The Department of Computer Science sucks up to the Department of Physical Education. Let me give you a chance. Today, you’ll help our Brother Dong to pick up balls, and you’ll be protected by Brother Dong in school from now on.”
The tall boy was obviously the leader amongst these people, as well as the Brother Dong mentioned by the flattering boy. Brother Dong patted his underling’s head, and the underling immediately looked ingratiating like a pug [1].
Brother Dong then looked at Lin Huai arrogantly and said upsettingly, “What are you still waiting for? Why don’t you bring the f*cking ball over?”
Lin Huai brought the ball and directly walked over to him. Brother Dong reached out and snorted, “Okay, you can just stand here and pick up balls. Come here every day to pick up balls, do you understand? I assure you that no one in your class dares to bully you. I, Zhang Jindong mean what I say. There are a lot of people in the Department of Computer Science who would want this opportunity.”
Brother Dong was about to reach for the ball, but Lin Huai smashed the ball onto Zhang Jindong’s face. The ball and Zhang Jindong’s face had an intimate contact. Zhang Jindong staggered backwards, his nose and mouth were bleeding.
Zhang Jindong slightly touched his face. Seeing a handful of blood, he roared exasperatedly, “Motherf*cker, f*ck him!”
A group of boys quickly besieged Lin Huai. However, Lin Huai grabbed Zhang Jindong’s hair directly and hit his face with knee twice. After that, he aimed Zhang Jindong’s head at the basketball stand and warned loudly, “Stand still or I’ll brain him!”
The basketball stand was made out of iron. A few stitches would be needed for each hit. Those students dared not to move.
Zhang Jindong’s face was full of blood. There were a lot of people around to watch but there was no one controlling the scene. Brawls and scuffles weren’t even unusual in this school.
Zhang Jindong panted heavily and said hurriedly, “Don’t hit, don’t hit. I promise they won’t make things difficult for you if you let me go.”
“That’s right.” Lin Huai couldn’t be bothered to sink to the likes of these students, otherwise it wouldn’t be enough even if there were more people, “I don’t mess with you and don’t you mess with me from now on. Also, don’t curse in front of me and don’t call yourself Brother Dong! Who do you think you are?”
Lin Huai kicked Zhang Jindong onto the ground and walked towards the office building. Zhang Jindong’s underlings were still planning to chase him. Zhang Jindong yelled immediately, “What the f*ck are you dong? I said to let him go just now, I then can’t mess with him today. Do you want to embarass me?”
The boy who was flattering Zhang Jindong ran over to help him up and said apologetically, “Brother Dong is right, let’s not sink to the likes of him today. After that, Brother Dong can easily destroy him.”
Zhang Jindong was even more satisfied with this underling when he was given an out. He patted this underling’s head and said, “Mouse, you did quite well. Ask around who he is and I’ll deal with him later.”
There was a hint of resentment in Zhang Jindong’s eyes as he thought of himself being so deeply ashamed on the field.
Lin Huai arrived at the class teacher’s office. Just when he was going to knock before entering, the door suddenly opened. There were two boys with bleeding face walking out of the office and they didn’t even look at Lin Huai. After leaving the office, these two boys immediately got into a fight with each other without considering if the teachers could hear them, “What’s the point of telling the teacher? F*ck your mum!”
“You still dare to hit me? F*ck your mum!”
Lin Huai shook his head and thought, No wonder Wei Sihai is so worried for his daughter, it would be strange if this school is reassuring. It seems like that fairy, Li Qianqian was being quite kind on her comments of the school.
Lin Huai walked into the office and looked around, “Who’s Mr. Hu Zhiqiang?”
Everyone was looking towards the ground. Lin Huai dazed. Are you all searching for mice or something? When Lin Huai finally looked downwards, he saw a few chairs put together and there was a bearded middle-aged man sleeping on them.
Lin Huai walked over and coughed lightly, “Mr. Hu, Mr. Hu.”
Lin Huai called him twice but they were all useless. A young female teacher who seemed to be in her twenties called softly, “Mr. Hu, there’s a student looking for you.”
“Oh! Where, where, where is he?” Hu Zhiqiang sat up from the chairs suddenly. He smiled at that pretty teacher and looked at Lin Huai blankly, “You’re a student in my class?”
Lin Huai couldn’t believe that Hu Zhiqiang couldn’t recognise the students of his own class. He sighed lightly and said, “Mr. Hu, I’m the new student.”
“Oh, I see. Lin Huai, right? Let’s take you to the class. You’ll be staying at Level 2 Dorm 101 in the evening and the bedding has been prepared for you.”
Lin Huai let out a breath and thought, It seems like this teacher isn’t so unreliable. He glanced gracefully at the pretty teacher and followed Hu Zhiqiang walk outwards. After leaving the office, Hu Zhiqiang asked Lin Huai about some personal information and Lin Huai answered appropriately. He mainly said that his family was poor and couldn’t afford tuition fees. Moreover, he met a kind-hearted class teacher who recommended him to enroll in this school.
However, Hu Zhiqiang curled his lips and said, “Your kind-hearted class teacher may not be kind. Anyways, it doesn’t matter whether you study or not in this school, but it is important to keep a low profile. It is a blessing to reach graduation peacefully.”
Lin Huai nodded to agree and had mixed feelings about it. He thought, Wei Sihai’s wife must have never imagined that the college would be such a disgrace when she founded this college during her lifetime, or she would be enraged to death even if she were to be alive.
They walked to the classroom entrance. There was a rather old teacher giving lectures in the class, while some students were playing cards and some were on their phones. There was only one student paying attention to the lecture. Though it was just a stunning side face, but Lin Huai recognized that this girl was Wei Qimian that he had to protect.
After seeing Hu Zhiqiang and Lin Huai walking in, they got slightly quiet and looked at Lin Huai curiously.
Hu Zhiqiang said, “This is the new student and you will all be classmates from now on. Lin Huai, please introduce yourself.”
Lin Huai said smilingly, “Hello everyone, I’m Lin Huai!”
The short self-introduction attracted different gazes. Some girls had enthusiastic gaze, some students looked scornful and some were full of hostility.
Hu Zhiqiang pointed at the seat next to Wei Qimian and said, “Just sit there. The textbooks are in your desk.”
Lin Huai walked towards his seat. When he sat down, he looked at Wei Qimian who was studying seriously and said, “Hello, I’m Lin Huai.”
An angelic smile bloomed on Wei Qimian’s face, “My name is Wei Qimian.”
“Oh my god, everyone take a look. Wei Qimian smiled at the newcomer.”
“She seems like she is fond of the newcomer.”
There were a lot of discussions in the class and countless gazes towards Lin Huai were full of hostility.
