Eventually Li Liner was hoodwinked by Lin Huai to go and wash up. Lin Huai immediately stood up and dashed out of her room. He fled back to his room before heaving a sigh of relief.
The next day, Lin Huai woke up and got ready to have breakfast. When he saw Li Liner, the image of her being in the pyjamas that she wore last night surfaced. Upon that, the temperature of his body rose.
Li Liner was also a little nervous. After all, she was an innocent girl and had never worn such sexy pyjamas. In fact when she went to the mall to purchase the pyjamas yesterday, she was blushing the entire time. She could not believe that she wore such pyjamas last night. Moreover, it was to seduce Lin Huai. Her heart raced upon the thought of that.
After breakfast, they each went their separate ways.
Lin Huai waited at home for Thunder God’s henchmen to deliver him the car. The car was given by Thunder God and Thunder God had asked his henchmen to drive it over. The transfer of ownership had also been done.
Lin Huai chose not to attend college that day. Upon receiving the car, he drove out to look for a shop to customize the signage for his bar. It was getting closer to the date of the opening ceremony and time was ticking. He had to hurry up and get things ready.
When the signage was done, Lin Huai glanced at his watch and saw that there was still some time to spare before lunch. Thus, he decided to walk around and take a look at the shops along the entire street. After all, he was the big boss of the entire area. Furthermore, he collected protection fees from these shops so it made sense for him to gain a rough understanding about them.
After touring around, he realized that the general public were rather satisfied with everything. Looks like my men did great work over the past few days.
Just as Lin Huai was about to leave, he suddenly saw two of his men chatting angrily and walking in front of him. Lin Huai kept quiet and eavesdropped on their conversation.
“I wonder why we are not allowed to speak up to Brother Huai about this.”
“Brother Chu said that we don’t have to inform Brother Huai about this yet. As his henchmen, we have to be able to take responsibility and settle these things on our own. We cannot always rely on our boss to do everything for us.”
“But these men are clearly after us. They had already come by our lounge to wreak havoc twice over the past two days. They even slapped Si yesterday.”
“Yeah, Si had to undergo surgery and get a few stitches on his head. Sigh.”
Lin Huai could not hold back anymore. He went up and patted one of the men on the shoulder.
“Damn! Who’s that?”
Both of them turned around and when they saw that it was Lin Huai, they got the shock of their life. Their faces turned green and they panicked. “Brother Huai, Brother Huai, we didn’t know it was you.”
Lin Huai cut straight to the point and coldly asked, “What were you all discussing about?”
Both of them hesitated for a short while and finally the man on the left said, “Brother Chu ordered us to keep it a secret from you. He is planning to resolve this tonight along with Brother Dao Zi.”
Lin Huai said, “Just tell me the truth. It’s not like you all snitched on them. I was the one that overheard your conversation. What’s going on?”
“Well… It’s like that.”
Upon hearing their story, Lin Huai eventually understood what was going on. Over the past two days, a group of thugs visited the lounges along the street to have fun and sing. Although everyone could tell that they were there with ill intentions, they could not chase the customers out for no reason. However, these thugs would always make a mess when they got drunk. They would then smash everything up in the rooms they were in.
Last night, a few of Lin Huai’s brothers fought with them and one of Lin Huai’s brothers, Si, was smashed in the head by a beer bottle. He had to undergo surgery and get a few stitches on his head. At the moment, he was still at home.
Lin Huai had a solemn look on his face. I had just taken over this bar and so many things had happened in such a short period of time. It’s tough to say if they were targeting me. Could it be that these men were sent by Gong Zhenglong? Would he be so dumb to do so? He was just punished by me and he’s out so soon to cause more problems? Oh wells, that’s tough to say. After all based on the intelligence reports, Gong Zhenglong had a bad temper and was a straightforward person. Although these types of people were not exactly terrifying, they would be a pain in the ass. Looks like I have to look for a suitable time to kill him off.
Lin Huai gave Dao Zi a call and asked, “Dao Zi, how’s your training coming along over the past two days?”
Dao Zi coldly said, “I think it’s time for you to teach me something new.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “That’s great. As expected, you do have the talent in martial arts. After all you managed to familiarize yourself with that technique in such a short period of time. Oh right, are you going on a mission tonight?”
Dao Zi remained silent for a while before coldly saying, “Chu Wenxing asked me not to tell you about it and yet he informed you?”
Lin Huai smiled and replied, “I overheard my men talking about it. You are allowed to execute the mission tonight but only under one condition.”
“Sure.”
Lin Huai said, “You are not allowed to use your knife or any other weapons. If you can do that, you are allowed to go but if you are unable to do so, you are not allowed to join the mission.”
“Alright sure.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “Sometimes, your hand can be used as a knife as well.”
Upon hearing what Lin Huai said, Dao Zi turned silent. Shortly after, he suddenly became extremely excited. With a serious look on his face, he excitedly said, “Thank you Brother Huai.”
“You’re welcome. Don’t forget that you are going to become my number one red cane in the future!”
After the conversation with Dao Zi, Lin Huai looked at the two of his henchmen and said, “You all know my phone number right?”
“Yes, we do. All of us remember your phone number.”
“Okay. When you find out which lounge and which room the thugs are in tonight, text me immediately.”
“Oh, alright Brother Huai. But…Brother Chu.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “Don’t worry, he won’t blame you all for this. Just pretend like you all don’t know anything and I won’t let anyone else know about this.”
Only then did the both of them heave a sigh of relief. They quickly said, “Thank you Brother Huai, thank you Brother Huai.”
Lin Huai also said, “Either way just remember what I said. I need you all to inform me right away. You all are very important brothers to me!”
Upon hearing that, their eyes lit up and the state of their mind completely changed as well. They all agitatedly and wholeheartedly shouted, “Brother Huai, we promise that we would complete the mission.”
Lin Huai smiled and nodded his head. In his men’s heart, Lin Huai had a status that was out of their reach. Thus, when they heard that they were Lin Huai’s most important brothers, they all became extremely excited and agitated.
After Lin Huai left, he had lunch with Wei Qimian in the canteen of Yulan College. In the afternoon, he bought some groceries before returning home. Then, he started making dinner. This time around, Li Liner returned home as per her usual schedule. Both of them chatted non-stop throughout the meal.
By the time dinner was almost finished, Li Liner pushed Lin Huai out of the kitchen and said, “I will clean the dishes tonight. You can go and rest.”
Lin Huai helplessly said, “Alright then. I shall not hassle with you.”
Li Liner grinned and replied, “You should not have been hassling with me in the very first place. As a man, you shouldn’t be hassling with me over chores like this.”
“Alright then.”
“Furthermore, you are my English teacher now. That’s why you should take a rest now as I would need you to teach me English later on.”
“Oh, okay.” Lin Huai looked at the time and after some calculations, he realized that he should still be able to make it in time. He would be able to begin teaching at around six pm. Peak hours at the lounge would be after nine pm. Therefore, he just had to wait for the text message from his henchmen before making a move.
Shortly after Li Liner was done with the dishes, Lin Huai heard Li Liner’s voice from her room. “Brother Huai, come over and teach me English.”
“Oh, alright.” Lin Huai stood up but all of a sudden, a thought crossed his mind and he hesitated. Li Liner took a while in her room before calling me to go over. Could it be that she changed into her sexy pyjamas again? No way! Why would she need to wear sexy pyjamas to learn English? If this happens every day I am afraid I would not be able to take it anymore. Could it be that she was seducing me? That has to be it…
Lin Huai was looking forward to it but at the same time it was excruciating. He gulped and mentally prepared himself for the upcoming situation. Then, he walked to her room and pushed the door open. Li Liner was seated at the desk in her usual spot. However, this time around, she was dressed up appropriately and it was the same clothes that she had on during the day. At the moment, she also turned around and looked at Lin Huai.
Lin Huai was supposed to feel relieved but for some reason, he was rather disappointed.
Li Liner noticed the disappointed look on Lin Huai’s face and she let out a slight grin that was barely noticeable. Then, she waved at him and said, “Here, come over and continue teaching me.”
“Alright.”
Li Liner thought to herself. If I wore sexy pyjamas every day for you to see, you would get used to it and you wouldn’t be excited anymore. As such, if I wore it once in a while, you would look forward to seeing it because you don’t get to see it every day. At the same time, you would feel disappointed when you don’t see me in it. Yes, things are going as planned. Looks like the book of love I bought two days ago was right.”
Lin Huai began to patiently teach Li Liner and she was also extremely focused throughout the lesson. The main reason she wanted to learn English was not to have intimate contact with Lin Huai. “Okay, around what time would you be back?”

Li Liner acknowledged that but deep down she actually wanted to question Lin Huai about where he was going. However, she felt that she was not in a relationship with Lin Huai and thus she had no reason to probe into his life. After all, she was merely a person rescued by him. Lin Huai rushed out the front door but all of a sudden, he stopped in his footsteps. He looked at Li Liner and said, “Over the past few days, I have noticed that there were people dropping by the lounge I was watching over to cause trouble. The same group of people just went over just now so I am going over to take a look. I don’t want my brothers to get injured again.”
Li Liner was worried and she said, “You have to be careful as well. Don’t get hurt.”
“Don’t worry. If these brats are able to hurt me, I don’t have to mingle in the underworld anymore. Haha, I will make a move first. Go to sleep earlier and you don’t have to wait for me. Goodnight.”
Li Liner was touched and she cheerfully replied, “Goodnight.”
After Lin Huai left, Li Liner felt rather joyous and delighted. She was brimming with joy. She could not help but ponder while murmuring to herself, My goodness, did Brother Huai inform me about where he’s going because he didn’t want me to worry? Or that he was afraid I would overthink? I feel… feel so loved.
The feeling of being a married couple living under the same roof flooded Li Liner’s mind. She felt so touched and happy that she could not help but burst out into laughter.
Lin Huai on the other hand, had a frosty look on his face as he drove towards the lounge that he was watching over.
