After what seemed like ages, lessons were finally over. Lin Huai immediately walked over to the field with Wei Qimian. There was nobody around and Wei Qimian said, “I heard about Thunder God. He is the leader of the most powerful force in Chengbei District. Everyone seemed to be terrified of him. Wouldn’t it be dangerous for you to be by his side?”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “Did you forget what my job was. I am a bodyguard, of course I would know how to protect myself.”
“But I am still a little worried.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “My dear, don’t worry. I am most definitely able to take good care of myself. Furthermore, don’t you know the main reason why Yulan College is in a mess?”
Wei Qimian gently bit onto her lips and said, “Are you trying to say that my father intentionally condoned such actions?”
Lin Huai nodded his head and sighed. “Yup. At first I did not plan to discuss this with you. After all, he is your father and I don’t want to make you upset. However, without him condoning such actions, this college could have been well managed. Actually since I entered this college, I had already thought about this.”
“I asked him about this before but he refused to admit it.” Wei Qimian sighed and she looked a little upset. “Although he refused to admit it, I did not believe him. I cannot fathom why he wanted to do so. This college was a brainchild of him and my mother back then. He fulfilled his promise to my mother and founded this college. This place was entrusted with the livelong dreams of my mother. How could he bear to destroy all this?”
Lin Huai said, “I have no idea. Actually I had never understood why. However, there is one thing I can be sure of. The main reason he’s doing all this is to provide new blood to the underworld of Chengbei District. Thus, he has to have certain connections with the underworld forces. I cannot do anything regarding your father as firstly, he is a legal businessman, and secondly, he is your father. Therefore, I have to take another angle to tackle this problem which is to penetrate into the underworld forces.”
Lin Huai said, “If I leave Tongcheng City, would you believe that in a short while, Yulan College would return to its previous state? That would mean everything I did was pointless. What I did now is just to treat the problems on the surface but not eradicating the root cause of the problem. Don’t you wish to save your mother’s Yulan College?”
Wei Qimian held a firm stance and said, “I do.”
“That’s why I have to do this. You shouldn’t stop me anymore.”
Wei Qimian replied gloomily, “But this is my mother’s Yulan College and yet I am unable to do anything to help. I still have to rely on you to do everything.”
“You foolish person. You are my girlfriend.” Lin Huai grabbed Wei Qimian’s shoulders and with a smile he said, “You are my future wife. I am helping my wife protect what she wants. Shouldn’t that be the case?”
“Gosh, you are just my boyfriend for now. I might not be your wife in the future.”
Lin Huai pretended to be unhappy and said, “How could you say that? You don’t want to be with me anymore?”
“You are the one that is leaving me. When things are done and dusted, aren’t you going to leave Tongcheng City?”
Lin Huai could not help but laugh and said, “How big do you think Huaxia is? I promise you that as long as I am not on a mission, I would try my best to stay in Tongcheng City and accompany you, alright? How’s that?”
Wei Qimian looked at Lin Huai and said, “Alright. I shall hold you for you words and you’re not allowed to forget about this in the future. You cannot just dump me after successfully courting me. Otherwise even if you return and look for me in the future, I will ignore you.”
Lin Huai cheekily smiled and said, “Alright. Since you admitted that you are my girlfriend, why don’t we do something that boyfriends would do with their girlfriends?”
“Why would I want to do that with you… You are so shameless. Are sexual things all guys think about? You just became my boyfriend and you want me to…”
Lin Huai’s eyes widened and he asked, “Is there something wrong with a boyfriend kissing his girlfriend? Is kissing also unreasonable? Oh my god, then I am a boyfriend that has no dignity at all.”
“K-Kissing?” Only then did Wei Qimian realize she was not on the same page as Lin Huai thus she unconsciously blushed.
Lin Huai said, “Yes, just kissing. What are you thinking about? Oh my god, you can’t be thinking about having sex right? Mianmian, you can’t possibly be so perverted.”
Wei Qimian blushed and she angrily groaned, “I am going to ignore you.”
Wei Qimian turned around and ran off. It looked like she was really angry. However, she barely took off, when all of a sudden, Lin Huai grabbed onto her wrist and dragged her back to him. Both of them then kissed.
Wei Qimian tried to talk in a muffled voice. They affectionately kissed each other. Wei Qimian’s eyes widened but the anger within her disappeared. The only emotion she had was shyness. At start she was a little awkward but shortly after she loosened up and cooperated with Lin Huai.
From afar, a few students looked on but nobody dared to walk over. What a joke! Would anyone dare to crowd around the boss of the college? They walked far away despite feeling jealous and envious.
When they were done kissing and separated from each other, Lin Huai smiled and said, “Are you still angry?”
“Hmmph! You are not allowed to toy with me in the future.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “No way, why would I dare to do so?”
Wei Qimian snorted and said, “That’s more like it.”
Lin Huai smiled. “I feel like I am not done kissing you yet.”
“That’s too much. Classes are going to begin soon… If we don’t return we will be late to class.”
“Haha, alright then. We shall resume when classes are over.”
“Well.. Okay.”
Lin Huai was delighted. He tried to take things further and suggested, “Then let’s kiss every time a lesson is over.”
“You are so naughty and you are like a hooligan. No wonder you are called Lin Huai, your name suits you perfectly. I am going to ignore you.” Wei Qimian turned and ran toward the direction of the classrooms.
Lin Huai burst out laughing. He walked slowly and followed suit. By the time Wei Qimian ran to the building, Lin Huai was still quite a distance away. Suddenly, he heard an icy cold voice from behind him. “Lin Huai.”
Lin Huai stopped in his tracks and turned around. Gao Mengchao was glaring coldly at him. Liu Meiqi was next to her and also staring at him in resentment. Sigh, everytime I see Liu Meiqi, I feel conflicted. The relationship between them was no longer clear cut whereby she would court him and he would adamantly reject her. Lin Huai still felt like it was impossible for them to be together. After all, he already had Wei Qimian.
Gao Mengchao coldly said, “I have a few words to say.”
Lin Huai smiled, “Sure thing, go ahead. What is it that Miss Gao plans to talk to me about?”
Gao Mengchao coldly said, “I know Thunder God has tried to rope you in. Now that I am getting ready to leave college and officially become one of Rakshasha Gang’s Red Canes, are you interested in joining me?”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “Is this Yu Luosha’s intention or yours?”
Gao Mengchao said, “We both have the same intentions. You are a truly scary person. It is much better to make friends with you than to become your enemies. Of course, I am the one that truly understands your horrifying capabilities. However, our leader thinks highly of you as well. After all, you are the leader of this college. As long as you join Rakshasha Gang with me, your status within would not be any lower than me. That is a promise given by Yu Lousha.”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “Help me turn her down.”
Gao Mengchao frowned and said, “You agreed to join Thunder Gang already?”
Lin Huai sighed. “Yup. You are one step behind.”
“Then all I can say is that we are closer to being enemies than being friends in the future.” Gao Mengchao sighed and had a regretful look on her face. “Both of you should chat, I will make a move first.”
Gao Mengchao turned around and left in disappointment. Lin Huai looked at Liu Meiqi and felt a little awkward. He had no idea what to say.
Eventually Liu Meiqi was the one that took the initiative and walked forward. She sighed and in a gloomy mood asked, “Are things really impossible between us?”
Lin Huai bitterly smiled and said, “I am sure you know that I am Wei Qimian’s boyfriend. You were there too right?”
Liu Meiqi nodded. “Yup. Our big sister is going to leave college soon. She is already in her final year of college and by right she should be able to get an internship. Thus, she plans to leave and join Rakshasha Gang with a few of her other friends.
Lin Huai said, “I will also no longer be coming to college on a daily basis anymore.”
Liu Meiqi asked, “You are planning to leave college so soon? But you just stabilized yourself as the boss of the college. After our big sister leaves, you would be the only dominating leader left. Isn’t that more fun and gives you more freedom compared to working for Thunder God?”
“Haha, that’s true but I have already made a promise to Thunder God so do you think I have the right to turn him down?”
Liu Meiqi looked dejected and clenched her fists. She said, “This is too much! Is Thunder God not going to consider the fact that you are just a freshman in college?”
Lin Huai smiled and said, “To these big shots, all they care about is benefits and loss. If I did not agree with him, I am afraid I would not have been able to stand here and talk to you right now.”
Liu Meiqi took a deep breath and said, “However I heard that they had rules. If you choose not to work for him, he can’t lay a hand on you.”
“Yes that’s true but he could always lay a hand on Wei Qimian. Even if they are put off by the fact that the Wei Family is powerful, they could always lay a hand on Pu Chengji, Fan Hanning, Pu Yingxue… And even you as well.”
Liu Meiqi’s eyes lit up and she agitatedly asked, “So am I also rather important to you?”
Lin Huai cursed at himself. Why did I say such things to her when I know it’s impossible for us to be together?! Looks like it’s too late to change, now that I accidentally blurted out the truth. Thus, Lin Huai had no choice but to put on a bitter smile and said, “You are rather important to me.”
Liu Meiqi smiled and wiped her tears off. She happily smiled and said, “I am very happy to hear that. I know that Wei Qimian is the only person on your mind right now but it’s okay, I can wait.”
Lin Huai sighed and bitterly smiled. He said, “Do you know why I always said that we can have sex but not be in a relationship since you started flirting with me?”
Liu Meiqi asked, “Why?”
“Let’s have a proper conversation about it.”
