Liu Shuai could not believe his eyes as he saw Xuan Yuzhai actually picked up the glass of wine and finished it while standing up. His attitude was like a low level employee that bumped into a manager. When he finished drinking, he even smiled apologetically and said, “Brother Huai, are you satisfied with my performance?”
Everyone gasped whereas Liu Shuai and Chou Sihan’s face turned green. They planned to mock Li Qianqian yet at the end of the day, they were the ones that got a slap in their face.
Although Xuan Yuzhai was not exactly a young master from top-tier families, he was still a rather famous and wealthy Young Master. How could it be possible that someone of his status actually became so humble and lowered his voice in front of Lin Huai?
Everyone within the ballroom started to make wild guesses about Lin Huai’s identity. Could it be that he was a young master from an even wealthier family? They looked respectfully at Lin Huai and were relieved that they had not joined in and mock Lin Huai earlier. On the other hand, Li Mei was in deep regret. She mocked Lin Huai because she was rather close with Chou Sihan and the other reason was that Chou Sihan came from a wealthy family. Thus, she wanted to get closer to Chou Sihan and leech off her. Who would have known that Li Qianqian’s boyfriend turned out to be someone with a much stronger family background.
Liu Shuai was flustered and exasperated. “Young Master Xuan, he is just the useless boyfriend of my ex-girlfriend. You don’t have to show any respect towards him.”
Xuan Yuzhai looked at Lin Huai and saw the evil grin on his face. Of course I am not afraid of his family background. However, I am under the same roof as him and I have no choice but to yield. He is a crazy person and can do anything. The two bodyguards behind me are definitely no match for him. Even if my family is a lot more powerful than his, I would still have to suffer the consequences of being beaten up.
Xuan Yuzhai’s expression turned ice cold and he solemnly said, “Who gave you the permission to speak to Young Master Lin with such an attitude?”
Lin Huai smiled. Xuan Yuzhai is such a smart fellow. After being beaten up, he now knows how to react under such circumstances and yield to his fate.
Liu Shuai was bewildered and Chou Sihan’s expression turned sour. She unhappily said, “Young Master Xuan, I don’t understand why you are reacting like this. Our families are partners in the business world so why are you showing respect to Lin Huai who is a nobody?”
A nobody? He is just an a*shole! An atrocious a*shole that I cannot afford to offend!
Xuan Yuzhai did not dare to reveal his actual thoughts so he solemnly said, “Either way, Young Master Lin is not somebody that you all can afford to offend so shut up. If any of you piss him off and makes him angry, you would be the one to suffer. Don’t blame me for not throwing this reminder out there.”
Xuan Yuzhai stood up and said, “Young Master Lin, I am sorry but I have something to handle back home so I will make a move first. Sorry to bother you.”
“Sure, go ahead,” Lin Huai casually replied while remaining seated.
Xuan Yuzhai heaved a sigh of relief. After all, he had no intention of staying behind as he was terrified of Lin Huai and by staying he would not feel at ease. The longer he stayed, the more humiliated he felt as well.
Xuan Yuzhai quickly left the restaurant with his bodyguards. However, they did not leave right away but instead he sat in his car and gave his father a call. He gritted his teeth and said, “Father, the person that beat me up is in the restaurant now. Send some men over and I will wait for them. This guy is good at fighting so you must send more people to take him down. I will be waiting here as I want to be present while he is being beaten up.”
Lin Huai had not expected Xuan Yuzhai to have the guts to seek revenge. It slipped his mind that Xuan Yuzhai came from a unique family background whereby their family would breed a bunch of fighters to work for them. They were thugs from the famous underworld of Chengbei District. Although they could not be compared with thugs from the three large forces, it was still a strong force to be reckoned with. Without such strong support from his family, Xuan Yuzhai would not have the guts to seek revenge.
Xuan Yuzhai waited outside patiently while the group of people in the restaurant were still left clueless. They thought Xuan Yuzhai left because of Liu Shuai’s bad attitude towards Lin Huai. Thus, in order to cut ties with Liu Shuai, he was spooked and left in a hurry.
If that was truly the case, Lin Huai’s actual identity was even more horrifying. Throughout the rest of the dinner, everyone came over continuously in order to give a toast to Lin Huai as a sign of respect. Naturally, they were also extremely welcoming towards Li Qianqian. On the flipside, the two stars of the shows were left out in the cold.
By the time dinner was finished, Chou Sihan had a solemn look on her face and no longer looked arrogant. Lin Huai could not be bothered to argue with the couple as his main purpose today was to increase Li Qianqian’s reputation and status. Now that the objective was attained, there was no point for him to stay behind.
Everyone walked out from the restaurant one by one and got ready to leave.
Just as Lin Huai walked out of the restaurant, Xuan Yuzhai with a group of people was blocking his way off.
Liu Shuai was shocked and asked, “Young Master Xuan, what is the meaning of this?”
Xuan Yuzhai stared resentfully at Lin Huai and exclaimed, “This has nothing to do with you. It’s between me and Lin Huai.”
Everyone had not expected the sudden change in Xuan Yuzhai’s attitude. He was so humble and respectful toward Lin Huai just now. Yet all of a sudden, he brought a group of people with him to pick a fight with Lin Huai. Therefore, everyone was bewildered by the current situation.
However, Liu Shuai and Chou Sihan were extremely excited. They moved aside and Chou Sihan even shouted, “Young Master Xuan, this is a matter between the two of you and it has nothing to do with us. Beat him up as you wish, don’t mind us!”
The other students also moved aside. However, a few guys hesitated before saying, “Qianqian, this has nothing to do with you. Move and come to our side so that you won’t be implicated in this mess.”
The guys had once crushed on Li Qianqian back then. After all, she was the prettiest girl in class and there were still some of them that had feelings for her.
Li Qianqian shook her head and said, “You can move aside and stay away but I am staying here with my boyfriend.”
Lin Huai gently patted Li Qianqian’s arm as she clung onto him. He smiled and, with a confident look, gently lowered his head and whispered, “Stay behind me and I will be able to take these guys out in an instant.”
A dozen burly thugs were on the opposite side of Lin Huai and all of them had weapons on hand. Based on the aura exuded, the thugs were definitely much more capable than the people from the sports major. The group of thugs could probably go up against twenty to thirty sports majors. Despite that, Lin Huai was confident he would be able to take them down.
Lin Huai was about to display his surge of strength when all of a sudden, a few cars drove over from the opposite side of the road. A larger group of burly thugs came rushing down. This time around, there were even more thugs, at least about twenty of them. Not only that, they seemed a lot more stronger.
Upon seeing this, Liu Shuai said, “Qianqian, even if I broke up with you, I don’t see why you have to look for such a person that brings trouble wherever he goes. Take a look at him, he is probably in deep trouble now and can’t even protect himself. You should break up with him.”
Chou Sihan also chuckled and said, “Qianqian, why don’t you let my husband scout for a man in his company to be your boyfriend? Even a low-level employee would be better than a young boy that is leeching off you. Your boyfriend has no special ability other than being good at stirring up trouble.”
Lin Huai’s expression changed as he knew that if there were only a dozen thugs, he could easily deal with them. However, the twenty to thirty thugs that just walked over were not ordinary ones. Although Lin Huai could still beat them up, he would not be able to keep his actual capabilities hidden.
Oh well, forget it! I don’t have to impersonate an ordinary student anymore. What’s the point of keeping my actual capabilities hidden? Might as well beat them all up!
Just as Lin Huai’s gaze turned sharp, he saw that Xuan Yuzhai who was standing in front of him looked confused as well. Then Xuan Yuzhai looked at the thugs next to him and asked, “Do you know them?”
One of the thugs next to him said in a trembling voice, “N-No. We don’t know them.”
By then, Lin Huai sort of guessed what was going on. As such, he grinned and pointed at Xuan Yuzhai while saying, “He is Xuan Yuzhai!”
Without another word, the thugs leaped over at Xuan Yuzhai like a bunch of tigers hunting down goats.
West Heavenly King… Lin Huai let out an evil grin. The thugs must be from West Heavenly King. I beat up his son today and announced myself as Xuan Yuzhai. They must have heard that Xuan Yuzhai turned up here so they rushed over to seek revenge. Oh well, whatever. Even though the truth would eventually surface, at the very least he took the fall for me. He deserves it for pissing me off.
Xuan Yuzhai was stunned and so was Li Qianqian’s classmates. They naturally thought that these thugs were Lin Huai’s men. Otherwise, why else would they all leap towards Xuan Yuzhai upon Lin Huai’s orders.
Xuan Yuzhai’s men were at a disadvantage in all aspects be it from the aura they exuded, their personal skills down, to the number of men available. Shortly after, they were all taken down before lying on the ground in pain.
Xuan Yuzhai was stunned. Before he could say another word, he was kicked onto the ground and beaten up by the group of thugs. This was the second time within a day that he was being beaten up. This time around it was a lot more brutal than the one that happened to him earlier that day. His face swelled up and he no longer looked like a human being. Not only that, those thugs lifted Xuan Yuzhai up and dragged him all the way to their car. Then, they drove off just like that.
Everyone was dumbfounded. Liu Shuai and Chou Sihan had planned to look joyfully at Lin Huai being beaten up as well as the embarrassment of Li Qianqian. Yet, things turned around and they could not react to the embarrassment of their own.
Lin Huai grinned at them. Immediately, Liu Shuai’s legs trembled and his teeth chattered. “Well… It-it’s good that you did not end up fighting with each other.”
Lin Huai continued grinning as he walked over before stopping right in front of Liu Shuai. Then, he turned around and looked at Li Qianqian while asking, “Qianqian, do you mind if I beat your ex-boyfriend up?”
Li Qianqian’s eyes lit up and he immediately replied, “Not at all! I have no idea who he is.”
“Alright, but I have a clear idea!” Smack! Lin Huai gave a hard slap onto Liu Shuai’s cheek. Liu Shuai stumbled onto the ground and one side of his face swelled up. Then, Lin Huai stomped his feet on Liu Shuai and coldly said, “A*shole! I am a very jealous person. The slap is to punish you for the fact that you actually dated my girlfriend before me. You are not worthy!”
The horrific aura that Lin Huai exuded disturbed people around which led to them holding onto their breath. On the other hand, Li Qianqian’s eyes sparkled with joy. She was so touched and murmured to herself, “Lin Huai… Lin Huai is so handsome!”
