The Garrison of Warcraft - Chapter 46

Meanwhile, Sean, atop his domesticated boar, had swam towards the Gold Coast and only just arrived when the scene unfolded.

With his right hand pulling on the reins, left hand holding a staff, and legs clamping onto Princess’ belly, Sean began to mumble random incantations, summoning his 3 produced Harvest Wardens to the Gold Coast.

Mages were moving cannons, after all!

Frostbolt!

Fireball!

Arcane Missiles!

Sean alternated between the only three combat spells he had , using them to kill the Murloc Casters one by one.

In contrast to Sean, the domesticated boar was domineering beyond all reason.

With the help of its unparalleled tonnage, incredibly vicious strength, extraordinary speed, and unique skills, the domesticated boar struck an eternal, multigenerational, unforgettable fear on the Murlocs.

In terms of the lethality, Princess the domineering domesticated boar was the real killing machine!

Oh wait, Princess was a boar, not a machine.

The true killing machines were the three Harvest Wardens.

The domesticated boar may pant from exhaustion, but the three Harvest Wardens could go on forever.

The upgraded and updated Harvest Wardens were not only equipped with the Harvest Golem’s indestructible claws, they also possessed an impregnable wooden armor.

It was an epoch-making leap from straw to wooden armor, raising the Harvest Warden’s defense to a whole new level.

Though merely wooden armor, it was made out of specially treated custom compressed particle boards produced by the Spatial Garrison. After going through at least thirteen treatment processes, the armor gained resilience and durability comparable to steel as well as natural resistances that steel did not have. Neither Fireballs, nor Frostbolts were capable of setting them ablaze or freezing them.

The Harvest Wardens were also equipped with specialized Warden Longswords.

This was indeed a long sword. It was three meters long, and when paired with the Harvest Warden’s build of over three meters, it was basically the height of three people standing on top of each other, or perhaps the miniature version of Gipsy Danger in Pacific Rim.

Based on the evaluation of the Spatial Garrison, these three longswords were Green Quality Uncommon Equipment.

Swords out!

The killing machines conquered everything in their path! There were no Murlocs that surpassed Combat Level 7 on the Gold Coast!

The Casters and Warriors were powerless against the Harvest Wardens’ longswords.

In short, the Murlocs were doomed! The Murlocs on the Gold Coast were doomed!

The remaining few Murlocs were massacred by Old Gryan’s one hundred and fifty men, Sean, the domesticated boar, and the Harvest Wardens.

The Murlocs tried to make a run for it but only a handful managed to escape.

“Old Gryan, go after them with your men! This is a golden opportunity! Get them while it’s hot!” Sean yelled at Old Gryan.

Old Gryan sneered. “You think I’m stupid? I’ll be pursuing while you comb through the battlefield? Soldiers, loot the battlefield! Don’t let that young fox rush ahead of you!”

At Old Gryan’s words, the weary but excited soldiers began to bag everything before their eyes. Carrying arms full of junk, they immediately tossed aside the stuff in hand at the sight of better items.

Forgive them, they have been in poverty for far too long!

The corner of Sean’s mouth was twitching.

He knew it would come to this!

As a pair of arms could not amount to several hundred pairs of hands, Sean resigned himself to his fate. Even if he were to join the bandwagon, how many items could he loot? Never mind, at least he retained his poise.

Clamping the boar’s belly with his legs, Sean approached Old Gryan with a smiling face. “About that, Sir Gryan, I went through a lot of trouble, not only did I get the Kobolds to attack the Murlocs, I saved you a lot of trouble by leading such a great force to battle. I did more than my share! Look, why don’t you increase my commission?”

The moment Old Gryan heard it was about money, he refused without a second thought. “No way! I’m not giving you any more money! How can you go back on your word?”

Sean chuckled. “No, I’m not going back! I was just thinking, you know, I’m not young anymore. I want to build a Mage Tower but I don’t have any men under me. How long will it take me to build the tower if I can only rely on myself? So…”

Old Gryan gave Sean a side glance before answering, “So you want my people to help build your Mage Tower? Sure, just pay up!”

Sean waved his arm. “Money’s no issue! Just deduct it from my share of Jangolode Mine, including the materials as well! Deduct everything from there!”

The corner of Old Gryan’s mouth twitched.

He had had it with this young fox’s scheming…

After giving it a thought, Old Gryan finally complied.

Old Gryan said, “Alright, but I have one request… The Mage Tower will be built in between Sentinel Hill and Saldean’s Farm. Don’t refuse just yet, hear me out. With the Kobolds vanquished and the remaining Murlocs to be taken care of later, that leaves us with one last enemy, the Defias Brotherhood. The leader of the Defias Brotherhood is Edwin VanCleef. The guy may be stubborn but he’s not stupid. He’ll surely figure out a way to deal with us.”

Old Gryan blessed Sean before continuing. “We will be able to help each other out any time with the Mage Tower established between Sentinel Hill and Saldean’s Farm. You’ll also be able to swiftly lend a hand if anything happens to Saldean’s Farm, isn’t that great?”

Sean nodded.

He had to admit that Old Gryan had a brilliant idea.

Even with the Mage Tower established, it would not have much defensive ability if Sean were alone. At critical moments, he would still need aid from Old Gryan. Hence, Sean nodded in agreement.

Thus, the curtains came down on the war.

The final clearing of the battlefield rested in the hands of Old Gryan. The mission to pursue the remaining Murlocs also laid on his shoulders. The developmental work in Jangolode Mine was also left to Old Gryan. Sean suddenly had a lot of time in his hands.

As he had some leisure time, Sean began to occupy himself with his own business.

Out of the three hundred soldiers under Old Gryan, the remaining hundred and fifty soldiers that did not participate in battle were either incapable of combat, wounded, or composed of the old, weak and handicapped. Although these people might not make a strong fighting force, they were competent enough to perform carpentry, craftsmanship, and masonry.

With that, building Sean’s Mage Tower began systematically.

These soldiers showed great enthusiasm after Sean offered rates that were double the market price. It was not just them, many vagrants in Saldean’s Farm took part in the construction.

There were even a few from Stormwind City’s Stonemason Guild amongst the vagrants that ended up on the streets because they were unwilling to join VanCleef in the underworld.

Their specialized talents in construction led Sean to entrust them with important roles as the Mage Tower construction’s Chief Engineers. Sean offered them five times the salary of the others.

There were people assigned to extract wood and stones. Furlbrow’s shredder finally came in handy.

Whether it was chopping, polishing, transporting, or construction, everyone had their respective roles. Based on the Engineers’ estimations, it would take around two months to finish the project.

The reason why it was a two-month long project despite having over a hundred workers was that Sean had huge ambitions.

Yes, he turned his nose up at the 7-story Mage Tower in Elwynn Forest and wanted a 24-story tower instead. With each floor measuring at 4 meters in height, a total of 24 floors would mean that the building would be almost a hundred meters tall. It would definitely be the tallest building in Westfall.

From a bird’s-eye view, the entire Mage Tower would be shaped like a pentagon. With each corner of the pentagon connected by lines, it would make a standard pentagram that represented both mystery and Magic.

The Mage Tower would grow narrower with each floor. The first floor would measure 30 meters per side, while by the 24th floor, each side would only measure at 10 meters.

This day, Sean was grazing his boar near the Mage Tower when an unexpected person appeared.
