The Garrison of Warcraft - Chapter 42

Sean almost cried.

‘Oh god, how embarrassing would it be if I introduced myself proudly as Sean Boarrider in the future?

‘I’m the Spatial Garrison’s Commander, I can’t be embarrassed like that!’

After tethering the domesticated boar at the stable, the thick-skinned Sean went upstairs to look for Old Saldean.

“What? Rick didn’t return? That b*stard, he must’ve just escaped!” Sean stomped angrily when he heard that Rick had not returned.

Old Saldean comforted him, “It’s okay, as long as you’re fine. Oh right, how did you subdue that domesticated boar? It’s my first time seeing such a huge one!”

Sean giggled. “Rick and I visited Sir Theocritus at the Tower of Azora. He noticed that I’m gifted and talented in Magic, so he decided to teach me some Spells. He even gave me a present, Enchanting Reins. I used the reins to conquer the domesticated boar.”

Without batting an eye, Sean used his conman skills to make up a story quickly.

Old Saldean was surprised. “What? Are you a Mage Apprentice now? Oh god, this is great, this is great. An honorable Mage is more presentable than an Apprentice Engineer! Oh right, are you going to learn from Sir Theocritus? Should I prepare some Gold for you to thank your teacher? You must get along with him, I heard that he doesn’t have a good temper…”

Although Sean was having a headache from listening to Old Saldean nag him, he had a warm feeling inside his heart. Old Saldean cared about him very much!

This meant that Saldean’s Farm was his home!

Sean smiled happily.

As their conversation continued, Old Saldean was delighted to know that Sean did not need to stay at the Tower of Azora, and that he was going to study by himself at Saldean’s Farm. After going on for a while more, Old Saldean returned to work.

On the other hand, Sean rode Princess the domesticated boar to Argus’ Smithy.

“What? You want me to smith battleplate for that domesticated boar? Sean, are you sure that your head wasn’t gored by the boar?” Argus exclaimed upon hearing Sean’s request.

Sean quickly shouted, “You’re the one whose brain was gored by a boar! That boar is my mount, my mount, okay? What’s wrong with smithing battleplate for my mount? Do you not want business? If you don’t want to do it, I’ll look for someone else, okay?”

He turned to leave.

Argus immediately pulled him back, and smiled at him apologetically. “I’ll do it, I’ll do it, of course, I’ll do it! What kind of battleplate would you like for your War Horse… Uh, no, War Boar? A Hauberk? Scale armor? Plate armor? How about I smith a Scalecloak with the scales that you sold me?”

Sean laughed and said derisively, “F*ck off! Keep those scales for yourself, I don’t want that junk. You’re the smithing master, so you decide how it should be smithed. My one request is that it must be good enough! You must know that a mount’s battleplate directly influences the mount’s and my safety!”

Argus nodded. “Of course, I’m a master in this field! Alright, you don’t have to worry. I’ll design and smith it personally. I’ll even use the best materials for you, a mixture of steel and mithril, so it’s guaranteed to be solid, durable, and tough. That said, I’m afraid that it won’t be cheap. After all, the boar is quite huge, so a lot of materials are needed for the battleplate.”

Since Sean had quite a sum of Gold left, he had enough to smith battleplate, thus he said, “As long as it doesn’t cost more than 50 Gold. I need it fast because we’ll be leaving in two days with Sir Gryan and the others.”

Argus laughed out loud. “Don’t worry, they’re not especially rare materials, so 50 Gold is enough. I’ll be smithing it personally, you may come to collect it after two days, and I’m sure that you’ll be satisfied!”

Sean had nothing to do after leaving Argus’ Smithy, so he stayed at Lion’s Pride Inn to meditate, and to learn some Spells. After two days, he returned to the smithy.

“Sean, take a look at how exquisite, how beautiful, and how gorgeous this battleplate is! Come, come, put it on your domesticated boar!” Argus laughed happily, then instructed his Blacksmith Apprentice to help put the battleplate on the boar.

The battleplate weighed at least 100 kilograms, and it wrapped the domesticated boar tightly. Other than the eyes, the nose, and the mouth, all other parts were completely covered.

Argus was right. It was an exquisite battleplate of Green Quality, and had an extremely strong defensive ability. Although it did not have extra attributes, Sean was very pleased with it.

“45 Gold, it’s not expensive at all! Are you happy with it, Sean?” Argus mentioned.

Sean nodded and tossed a coin bag to Argus, then rode his domesticated boar back to meet Old Saldean and the others before heading to Westfall.

Under the vast sky, on the boundless plains, a boar herder was seen when the wind blew, and when the grass lowered.

A boar herder was a boy who herded boars.

Ever since returning to Saldean’s Farm, Sean started his boring life as a boar herder.

Yes. Although Princess ,the domesticated boar that had been tamed as Sean’s mount, had lived a luxurious life for more than a year on a farm in Elwynn Forest, it was in her nature to long for freedom. Perhaps twiddling cabbages used to be her favorite thing to do, but she was tired from twiddling so many cabbages.

The domesticated boar swore that she would invest in a twiddling business of various plants for the rest of her limited life as a boar.

Her goal was great, the process would be enjoyable, and her future would be bright.

Thinking he should become familiar with his mount, Sean began his herding life.

Even though Westfall was not peaceful, Sean was a little master with a Combat Level of 6. Besides, since he had a domesticated boar whose Combat Level was Level 10, there were not many people or creatures that would provoke him in Westfall.

Westfall was quite barren, after all, and the place fit the lyrics “You are wind and I am sand, we’ll go around the ends of earth sentimentally” (TN: Song lyrics from “You are Wind, I am Sand” by Ruby Lin). It used to be covered in greenery, but it had now become dry and barren, hence the domesticated boar became impatient after twiddling for a while.

Sean was not going to treat his first mount poorly, thus he rode her toward the crooked river between Elwynn Forest and Westfall.

Both sides of the river were lush due to nourishment from the river’s water, so the domesticated boar would be occupied for a long time.

Time passed day after day.

The domesticated boar twiddled cabbages for three days while Sean rode on her back to read and study Spells.

Finally, he learned Frostbolt.

Sean, who had learned three Low Rank Spells, finally advanced from being a Level 1 Mage to being an honorable Level 2 Mage.

At last, the second Golem that could be produced from the Golem Factory, the Harvest Warden, had been researched successfully.

Sean entered the Spatial Garrison right away as he planned to produce a Harvest Warden. It was then that he made the shocking discovery that a considerable amount of materials were needed to produce a Harvest Warden that had a Combat Level of 7.

“Does this mean that I have to get discarded Harvest Golems?” Sean looked up at the sky as he asked.
