The Era of Gods - Chapter 26

Most certainly, this wasn’t something that he could hide. It would definitely be exposed during the finals, but he would have quite some time to prepare before that would happen.

He flipped around in bed for almost two hours before he got drowsy and fell asleep. The next day, he woke up early in the morning. After breakfast, he immediately went to the Log-in Cabin and arrived in his Divine Realm located in subspace.

Firstly, he routinely examined his Divine Realm. The Black-scaled Naga and Greymist Murlocs were getting along quite well.

Arriving above the newly excavated fertile land in his Divine Realm, on this black territory 3.5 kilometers long and a little more than a kilometer wide, some weeds were already growing in the area near the beach.

Lin Xiao rubbed his chin as he looked at his Divine Realm. He felt that he still needed some economic plants and seeds.

For example, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other easy-to-cultivate and high yielding plants.

That 5-Star Resource Card: Large Shallow Fish School had already been deployed a long time ago. There was a total of five large schools of random shallow sea fish, namely a large school of white sea shrimp, a large school of salmon, a large school of cod, a large school of sturgeon, as well as a large school of black-spotted grouper. Each school was based on the size of the species. For instance, a large school of large groupers had only 1,000 individuals, while a large school of small white sea shrimp had more than 100,000 individuals.

All of them consisted of half male and half female, enabling them to reproduce.

Five types of sea creatures coupled with the few that had already existed in the Divine Realm greatly enriched the diversity in the ocean and perfected the food chain.

If they weren’t overfished, and were allowed to reproduce, these schools could supply the needs of two to three thousand Murlocs and Black-scaled Naga.

As for that Bison Herd card, he hadn’t used it just yet. It was mainly because grass and plants hadn’t grown in the newly excavated fertile land. If he unleashed the Bison, they would starve to death without food.

Running a Divine Realm was no easy task, especially in the early phases where almost everything would be lacking. Problems would arise constantly, and once one was solved, another one would crop up.

The number of cards one could use during the earlier phases was limited. It was necessary to conduct reasonable planning. For every card, one would have to consider whether it was worthwhile.

Lin Xiao spent a few months in his Divine Realm to contemplate. He was thinking about whether he should choose the War Stream, Farming Stream, or Hybrid Stream as the future development path of his Divine Realm.

Should it be the War Stream, he would have to consider about gathering some allies… *cough cough*, which meant he’d have to find a few friends who he could get along with like the other excellent students in the class. When the level of his Divine Realm and his own Divinity reached a certain level, he could choose to unite with others for everyone to complement each other’s weakness.

Going for the War Stream would imply that, in the days to come, all the cards integrated into his Divine Realm wouldn’t have to take resource output, internal balance, etc. into consideration. He would only have to focus on developing his main battle race.

It would be fine as long as his battle race and Divine Realm were powerful. As for the logistical issues, he could leave it to his other teammates within his alliance.

For instance, he could find a Divine Realm which was mainly focused on the Farming Stream. The Lord of that Divine Realm wouldn’t have to develop the combat power of their own Spawn. They just had to devote themself to farming and producing enough resources to provide for the races within their captain’s Divine Realm.

This was the case of Lin Xiao’s parents. His father was in the War Stream while his mother was in the Farming Stream. The power of her Spawn within her Divine Realm was mediocre, but her Divine Realm’s resource output was super high. The extra resources generated by his mother’s Divine Realm was enough to support that of his father.

Here’s another simple example: In Lin Xiao’s family, the Divine Realm of all their family members were united on the side of the Divine Realms of the two True Gods in the family. With the two True Gods as the main, the primary task of the other demigods or divine life in the family was to provide support. This had thus, created a massive Divine System.

In crystal shell AX-14, his family was viewed as a Divine System in the eyes of the native Gods.

Having a War Stream and a Farming Stream together was equivalent to having one for offense and one for defense, where the combination would complement each other.

As for the Hybrid Stream, as the name suggested, a Divine Realm would be powerful in both offense and defense, or conversely, it could be weak in both, but they would have no shortcoming.

Lin Xiao’s initial idea had been to go for the War Stream, and then find a beautiful Goddess to be his wife like this dad. But later, he discovered that beautiful Goddesses weren’t that easy to find. There wasn’t even a single beautiful girl in his class. There were a few in his school but what did he have to do with them?

Those excellent girls would already have a bunch of perverts eyeing them. He didn’t stand a chance at all.

In addition, Lin Xiao personally felt that there was a huge hidden danger in this method of close cooperation. Once a problem occurred in one party, it would affect the whole body and the entire Divine System.

Besides, he himself had a tiny little OCD, which meant that he didn’t like his Divine Realm to have any shortcomings. Hence, his only option was the Hybrid Stream.

Of course, this didn’t prevent him from finding teammates to establish a Divine System in the future.

For the rest of the time, Lin Xiao spent every day in his Divine Realm. As he watched the newborn Black-scaled Naga hatching out from their eggs and slowly growing up, he was full of joy.

The growth time of Black-scaled Naga was six years, and they had a lifespan of up to 50 years. There were still more than ten years before the final exam, enough for the third generation to be born.

With to the Black-scaled Naga’s one to three eggs spawn once a year. and excluding the infertile eggs, more than 40 to 50 Black-scaled Naga were born in the first year.

During this period of time, Lin Xiao only issued one Sacred Degree to his believers, and that was to lay as many eggs as they could and strive to build up a population of more than 500 Black-scaled Naga before the finals. Only then would he be confident of getting that point of Divinity during the finals.

As for the Greymist Murlocs, he didn’t issue them any Divine Decree. At present, he had already established that the Murlocs were an auxiliary race. Thus, they were no longer needed to reproduce in abundance. He didn’t expect these Murlocs to make too great of an impact by the time as well.

That couldn’t be helped. In more than 20 years, even the longest living Murloc would kick the bucket. By then, the massive numbers of Murloc Fighters and Murloc Warriors which he had upgraded during the placement test would be all dead.

All the subsequent Murlocs would be level 0. With limited combat effectiveness, they would only become fodder on the battlefield.

Nevertheless, he had still underestimated the reproduction ability of these Murlocs.

Without war and with plenty of food, coupled with the fact that all the new Murlocs had twice the normal reproduction ability and survivability, the growth speed of those Murlocs over the years was literally like dumplings being tossed into a pot.

Half a month later, which was 15 years later in the Divine Realm, the number of Murlocs in the Divine Realm had already exceeded 2100.

And this was after he deliberately repressed them after discerning that the situation was bad. He let the Murloc leader take these Murlocs to train every day so that they wouldn’t have nothing to do and only know how to make babies.

With their numbers reaching this point, the upper limit of the Divine Realm’s capacity had basically been reached.

Let’s not forget that there were still another 480-ish Black-scaled Naga in the Divine Realm. They were also great eaters. The food consumed by just those couple hundreds of Naga alone was no less than the 2000 Murlocs.

Fortunately, over the years, the Divine Realm’s newly excavated fertile land had been overgrown with weeds. He activated the bison card and summoned 100 bison to feed on this meadow.

Hundreds of Black-scaled Naga charged forward to seize the bison and raised them in captivity. Now they had been successfully domesticated.

They weren’t used for farming, since there were no seeds. They were raised purely for their flesh. Under the circumstances where the bison herd would be able to reproduce, some of them would be slaughtered for food at predefined intervals.
