After the car drove away, Feng Sujin stood there blankly without moving.

She looked at the characters, ‘Jun Mohan’, written on her hands. His writing was pretty, bold, in cursive, but understated.

They often said that observing one’s writing was like observing the person. It was imaginable what kind of person he was.

He had only held her hand but the touch seemed to pass through to her heart. In that instant, her heart skipped a beat.

She remembered what he said before he left and lowered her head in thought.

No matter what, her heart was filled with gratefulness.

Feng Sujin sighed and took her sister back to their old home.

The small yard never changed and she never had time to come back and clean it. As they entered, the joyful old days flashed across her mind, chasing the melancholy away.

This night, the sisters rested under one blanket comfortably.

Whenever she felt upset and had nowhere to go, she would come back and stay a night here.

The next morning, Feng Sujin received a call from the hospital.

Her heart sank as she quickly picked up, “Hello?”

“Is this Miss Feng?”

Feng Sujin’s heart sank even more, “Yes, I am. Is it my father? Did something happen?”

“No, but it’s about time to make the payments for next month. If you don’t pay, we have rules…”

Feng Sujin gripped her phone tightly. “Isn’t it always paid by House Feng?”

“House Feng’s old madam contacted us. She said that you didn’t meet her expectations and all of Mr. Feng’s medical expenses will be paid by you.”

Feng Sujin clenched her teeth tightly and controlled her emotions. “I understand. Sorry to bother you. I will pay for you as soon as possible.”

She knew that her father wouldn’t wake up right now. The expenses for treatments and hiring nurses to look after him was extremely high and she couldn’t possibly afford it alone.

However, she intended to never give up on her father. She always thought that her father would wake up and look at his daughters again.

Feng Sujin hung up the call with a pale face. Her hand holding the phone was shaking.

She quickly got up and packed, taking her sister back to House Feng.

She knew that there was no use in arguing with the old madam. She could only think of a way to contact Lan Beichen.

But when she tried to call Lan Beichen, he hung up every single time and eventually, turned off his phone.

Feng Sujin felt endlessly bitter, but she had to step on her pride and contact Lan Beichen again to save her father.

She had to try no matter what, hoping that Lan Beichen would help her for the two years being together.

Even if he was willing to put on a play or discuss for a marriage agreement.

Feng Sujin couldn’t even enter House Lan’s front gate. The guards by the gate locked her outside mercilessly.

She had no choice but to wait for him outside the hospital. She didn’t try to go to Liu Shiya’s room to speak with him.

She knew that Liu Shiya was important to Lan Beichen. She waited outside as she was worried that she would lose more if she agitated him, but the night wind was chilly.

It was cold just like her heart.

Lan Beichen finally left the hospital and frowned impatiently when he saw Feng Sujin waiting by his car. “Why did you come again?”

“Lan Beichen, can we please talk about it seriously?”

Lan Beichen didn’t speak. He walked to the car and was about to get in.

Feng Sujin grabbed the door tightly and smiled bitterly, “Lan Beichen, we were in a relationship for two years. I really need help right now. Can we please sit down and talk properly?”
