The Editor Is the Novel’s Extra - Chapter 9

While the cat was chomping up the foods he offered, he was carefully searching the bedroom for other clues.

However, he was only able to find a few things belonging to Clayo. Other than textbooks, there were only writing tools, school uniforms, pajamas and a few casual clothes. Aside from those, he could find nothing else.

So, this is why this room felt more like a hotel suite.

Suddenly, when he was checking the desk’s drawer, he discovered a student notebook and a checkbook issued by Plata Bank.

… Looks like somebody is periodically sending some money to this kid’s bank account, but he had no idea how to limit his transactions. Wait, on a second thought, this kid’s family looks like…

Originally, he planned to investigate further, but judging by this latest find of his… he guessed he had quite a substantial balance in his consolidated bank account.

Hmm, will checking this bank account lead him closer to Baron Asser, the esteemed, richest merchant in the continent?

I’ll follow Instructor Ryuba’s suggestion and go to the bank.

He looked at the checkbook and noted that a lot of pages had been torn when he looked at its left side. Now, there was only one to two pages left.

Fortunately, he could see the ink stain that bled on the remaining pages. And from looking at the left-over mark, he surmised he would be able to imitate this kid’s autograph.

I’ll keep this for the time being. It should be handy.

Clayo kept the checkbook in his jacket pocket. Then he took the student notebook from the drawer. When he opened the notebook, it had the following information written on it.

After he had finished reading the notebook, Clayo sat cross legged on the floor and ate some chicken and soup.

“Hey, so it’s Clayo, and not Clayoh.” The cat by his side remarked, sneaking a glance at the information in the notebook.

“Just call me Clayo. Oh, nevermind, who actually cares?” He nonchalantly said as he snapped the notebook shut.

“The chicken is not bad, but I prefer steak. One that is cooked medium rare with Madeira Sauce. Oh, and don’t forget the wine! Steak definitely has to be eaten with wine.”

“What kind of cat are you? Cats shouldn’t drink alcohol.”

“Did you think I am comparable with other cats?! Hmph! I’ve stayed a bit longer than usual today, I’ll go now. I’ll return tomorrow, but you better serve me some wine and meat!”

However, when Clayo refused to satisfy his cravings for meat and alcohol, Behemoth instantly beat him with its front paws.

And, it really hurt.

Ugh, even if I strike back, I’ll still lose to this cat. Ouch, this really makes me want to cry…

At this moment, Clayo was experiencing an unprecedented crisis. Because Behemoth, who up until thirty minutes ago was still being its devilish-self and was supposed to take his leave, was now licking his front paw acting all cute. It was acting all innocent as it splayed down on Ishiel Kischion’s thighs.

You deceptive little bastard. He could only curse at it inwardly.

Right now, they were in the living room with the light turned on. In front of Clayo sat a beautiful girl with a cat laying on said girl’s lap. Back then, he wasn’t able to see her visage, but now it was light… He could finally see her true beauty.

Her unblemished face, pure and radiant, was adorned with red hair that curled around her neck, looking as vibrant as a rose. Her green eyes that gaze straight at him were as clear as emeralds shining in the light. Not only that, her slender chin, narrow nose, and small lips… all her perfection grasped Clayo’s attention and bound him, not letting him go from its spell.

She was so stunning, looking as if she had just stepped out from a painting.

However, her strong words ran in contrast with her picturesque beauty. “Don’t try to beat around the bush, Clayo Asser. It was already obvious from the range of that magic circle. It could only be done by a student who was already level two or even higher. Why are you trying to hide this fact?!”

“I really don’t know! I don’t remember my past after I fell into the river!”

I wanted to take a break, but why is she suddenly bothering me? Jeongjin thought, dismayed.

Ishiel, who had just come into Clayo’s room without warning, saw the cat and was overcome with an urge to play with the adorable feline. However, she soon regained her bearings and remembered her purpose in coming here.

“Are you trying to say you opened the magic circle unconsciously?!”

“We can’t deny that possibility,” he argued back.

Right now, despite speaking with such a beautiful girl like her for the first time in his life, Clayo was frustrated. However, that was only natural considering her persistence and the detestable way of enquiring had shaken the tranquility of Clayo’s peaceful life. And that was something he truly disliked.
