Chapter 41- A Wise Summer Vacation (8)

A soft behemoth was moved simply to the woman, and he fell in love quickly with Dione. In the meantime, the maid Canton has informed them of the circumstances around the mansion. Dione furthered that when Clayo was about to leave from his school, she went to work together with other people to renovate this old and unused mansion.

‘You have prepared a mansion and servants for a child? There must be another reason…. ‘ Jeongjin curiously thought.

However, there was no time for Jeongjin to keep on thinking. After he left his luggage to a servant, he was dragged by Dione, together with maid Canton. He has to sip a little stroll around and be acquainted with the mansion. Canton felt proud of what she had done, albeit she felt compelled to tell it mildly. At the very least, she felt there was a considerable achievement she has made.

The mansion was currently empty. It was a type that housed with seven bedrooms, a dining room with a 24-person dining table, and a drawing-room all free of dust. As corresponds to its name, the mansion has a large hall with unending floors and winding stairs, chandeliers, and mirrors that were shimmering from the ceilings and some walls.

While walking around the house, Behemoth, who had followed the party, ended up swishing his tail in admiration.

“Meooow! Meow! (Now, if you could see it all, look at the cellar. I can smell the wine from the basement.)”

‘Ha, this cat is almost an alcoholic.’

“Miss Canton, can I see the cellar if it’s okay?”

“Yes, young master. Here it is. I also cleaned the stairs.”

Canton, who carefully turned on the gas lamp, led Clayo to the basement door that connected to the back of the kitchen. Dione also saw the stairs and timidly said she would stay in the kitchen. The cellar was quite deep and dark as a cave. Then the cat unhesitantly jumped into the basement ahead, being confident in his night vision. And soon, his complaints echoed loudly.

“Meooooooow! (I’m so disappointed to see such a good cellar nothing but empty!)”

Maid Canton, unable to understand the cat, had taken a hint from its pitiful bubbling cries.

“Unfortunately, it is empty now. The mansion has just refurbished, but we have told a wine wholesaler to put up wines here. I think the order arrives soon.” Canton said.

“Meoow! (I’m mortified. How long should I wait for my drinks?)”

“Okay, stop. Let’s go find what I said before.”

“Meow! Meow! (Yeah, whatever! Take care of yourself.)”

Canton laughed as she watched Clayo arguing with the cat. “It seems as if you can understand what the cat is saying.”

“Ah, hahaha. It’s because I’ve stuck too with him….”

The tedium of inconvenient house tour has consumed them most of the day. Afterward, when done, Dione dragged Jeongjin away to the tailor, saying he must fit some new clothes to wear. Hence, there was no break for the skinny boy. Then, they entered the carriage again and traced their way back.

While the company was on their way to the tailor, Jeongjin asked to stop by a liquor store, and he bought secretly two bottles of the Bishop’s Tower from 1875 that, coincidentally,  had recently arrived. The boy went on board the wagon and brought with him a fragrant box. Thus, it prompted the eager cat to almost jump at him from excitement.

“Meow! Meow! Meow! (This is it! This is it! Oh, this is it!)”

“Behemoth, please calm down.”

“Meow? Meow~ (Is this true?)”

“Oh, the cat is very lively,” Dione commented from the other side of the chair.

“… Lively… Yes, it seemed that the cat had sucked my energy, too. It’s too energetic.”

After leaving the liquor store and turning to another route, they finally entered a street lined with luxurious shops. While on their way, Dione, pulled a piece of jerky stuff from her small pouch and handed it over to Behemoth.

“Cute cat, please wait in the carriage now. I know it takes a while, so I’ll give you a snack.”

When the cat excitedly bit the snack and waved its tail, Dione gushed at the cute sight. Then she got closer to a gargantuan cat and whispered something.

“How long does the cat have to wait that you are giving it some snacks?” Clayo murmured.

Dione’s face instantly hardened and decisively replied as she unglued from the cat, “Be prepared to spend all your afternoon here. Just some time ago, Mr. Dalian, one of the servants whom I instructed to prepare, told me that you didn’t have any clothes to wear.”

Instantly, horror flashed across Jeongjin’s face as he was surprised by the lady’s words, ‘Whole afternoon? What the hell are you going to buy….’

He felt an ominous foreboding at the back of his mind.
