Chapter 20- Scammers and Deceitful Students (7)

When Arthur was young, he trained to become an excellent swordsman by his teacher, who was adept in swordsmanship. And by that time, he was already accustomed to injuries. He continued his rigid training at the barracks of Viscount, Chision, together with other soldiers.

Strange enough, the pain that he suffered now is quite different from the rest of the pains he got from previous gashes. Up to now, his blood has been flowing from his nose and enfolding the back of his hand. Thus, he took a moment and appraised the situation thoroughly.

The world shook!

Arthur’s conviction was closer to reality. He knew from within that this corridor, this sunset, and this carpet were not the same right before them. However, this intuition of his, ironically, made him a hapless boy. For it seemed that only Arthur could understand the unfolding twist of mysteries between what happened in the future and the present.

Such was a phenomenon that caused him  a “cursed child.”

However, this bizarre event hasn’t witnessed by Arthur alone. Clayo likewise felt the pain and trembled after seeing his blood flowing too. Hence, he was full of fear, and his eyes were dilating, for he went with a similar case from Arthur but only unbearable by him.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The doors of the dean’s office opened on both sides before Arthur could start his probe. As such, its impact from inside out was quite compelling that the whole corridor boomed.

“Come on, Lionan and Clayo Asser! You have called all the way, and you’re punching here?”

The older man who was tall and bare-bearded strode across the hallway. His lobes were flipping around with his long limb.

“Ta-da, you two hanged together when you stole a drink. Hence, you have to fix your blunder!”

Jevedi simultaneously whipped the two boys, thinking that they had a physical fight. Afterward, Arthur stood up first and regained his usual high-pitched manner quickly and pleaded with his dean.

“Teacher, kids usually get better by fighting along.”

“Huh, that’s how you respond to your dean? Aren’t you bleeding? Did you guys use your weapons?

“No, sir! It’s stuck off in our cuff buttons”, Arthur said.

“Oh, Arthur, I am surprised that you fall backward, but instead, your nose bleeds. Don’t you know, I haven’t slept a single day since you entered this school!”

“I didn’t know that you were thinking of me, sir, but I’m impressed.”

“You!!!” The older man was pointing out to the skinny boy.

Arthur was chuckling while pressing his nose to prevent the oozing of more blood from his wound while looking at a dumbfounded Clayo.

“What have you done? Let’s examine and get rid of it! Jevedi said.

Slightly, the older man stretched out his left hand. Then a circle of light appeared and protracted from him going to Clayo and Arthur. Thus, it formed a great circle, and it was the first “circle” whom Clayo witnessed in his life. Such was called the wizard’s field.

“[Keep the leak of life]!”

When Zebedi commenced his enchantment, the interior of the golden circle at the floor filled with complicated letters and patterns, it was warm and soft that rose into the air and permeated the two boys. The dean has made his peculiar wizardry. Instantly the blood from Arthur and Clayo has stopped.

“We don’t fight. Isn’t it right, Clayo?” Arthur was trying to comfort the skinny boy.

“Oh, yeah. Yes, that’s right.”

Arthur, albeit with his heavy heart, allayed the other boy who was left dumbfounded and lying on the floor. Clayo was shocked because he couldn’t believe that the world was full of surprises in a single minute. It seemed the unforeseen has managed to unlock itself and took part in reality.

Was it magic? Jeongjin marveled.

Yes, there were lots of possibilities, but the sort of magic that has performed earlier was genuinely marvelous. It indeed hit a fantastic effect on Clayo, but unlike him, Arthur only displayed natural as if he was used to magics.

“Our teacher’s healing magic is always amazing!” Arthur said, who was waving his hand pretentiously and clung it to his pocket.

Thus, the older-man Jevedi smirked.

“Come on, and I think you’re finished. Clayo, are you all right? Did you badly get hurt?”

“No, sir. I am just surprised.”

Professor Zevedi took a handkerchief from his robe sleeve and gave it to Clayo. The boy mumbled upon seeing the older man wiped his face and lifted him with the latter’s big wrinkled hands.

“Yay, you don’t need a lot of works, boy. Who’s going to be frightened by this kind of weakling?”

Hence, the two boys whose uniforms have cluttered with blood and dust, stood side by side and listened to a 20-minute comma-free blistering sermon. There were lots of restrictions and terms to keep. The highlights were but not limited to unauthorized outings, truancy, intrusion into the faculty quarters, and theft of school supplies. However, in Clayo’s case, he was pleading his innocence, alleging that he was sick and accused only.

“Well, you both shouldn’t miss a day of your class from next week onwards. Otherwise, you’ll have to stay at school during the vacation.”

Teacher, that’s not fair. Please spare us from these onerous tasks.” Arthur asked.

“What do you think is good about yourselves, huh? Your punishment is reading this week’s books right after the class until next Tuesday. I reckoned the days you missed and started all over again. Do you understand?”

“…okay.”

“Well, if that’s your order, we should take our classes and clean up. What choice do we have? Arthur responded clearly.

Soon, when the boys have been rebuked satisfactorily by their dean, Arthur ran away after he got his disciplinary actions in such a way that Clayo, who frayed both in mind and body, couldn’t catch up with a long-legged fast-footed boy.

Then, Zebedi spoke at him in a restrained voice.

“Clayo Asser, you have more work to do.”
