The Distinguished Cute Master - Chapter 55

Chapter 55 – Ice Wyrm

“How about this? I’ll sleep with you once. Once we’re done, you leave and stop getting in my way. Alright?!”

Hearing Ji Hongyan’s words, Yuan Chu truly wanted to kneel to her. Her cheeks twitched. After a while, she asked, “Then… If I leave and another man comes, are you going to use the same method?”

Ji Hongyan frowned. Just as she was about to say something, a wave of quaking shook the peaceful, underwater secret realm. A rumbling sound traveled over. It was as if something had crashed against the protective seal. A thought struck Yuan Chu, and her expression immediately changed.

“Darn it. It’s that ice wyrm!”

After she finished speaking, the entire secret realm’s seal emitted a faint light. Then, it started to rupture bit by bit. Not good! The secret realm is about to collapse!

Seeing Yuan Chu dragging her away, Ji Hongyan hurriedly asked, “If we’re leaving, what about Ye Chenyuan?!”

Yuan Chu quickly said, “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine! We should leave first!”

Ye Chenyuan had the Sky Pearl. He could hide in it if he met with danger. On the other hand, they didn’t have a storage space to save their lives in these ruins.

The people who came to search for treasures all panicked, but they didn’t know it was the ice wyrm causing trouble. They simply thought that the secret realm was collapsing, so they rushed out, not caring whether or not they found anything.

Once the secret realm collapsed, it would create a vortex. Getting caught in it would be equivalent to being dragged into the jaws of death!

Yuan Chu had originally wanted to stay. She did not need to fear the ice wyrm with her cultivation. However, Ji Hongyan was just a Core Formation cultivator. It’d be best to send her ashore first.

The protective seal above them broke, and milky-white water poured down. Amid the striking noise, the surrounding water twisted. A vortex was forming!

Now, Ji Hongyan didn’t dare to continue putting on a brave face. She hurried to follow Yuan Chu away.

Luckily, they were fast enough. Once they left the boundary, the space behind them warped completely. The vortex pulled Ji Hongyan backward. Yuan Chu held tightly onto her and managed to keep her from getting sucked in.

The other people moved fast as well. However, the vortex still sucked away a couple of people. Yuan Chu held Ji Hongyan in one hand and her whip in the other. She swung it toward the people dragged into the water, and they quickly grabbed onto it. Yuan Chu pulled it along and brought them ashore as well.

As for those still in the secret realm, Yuan Chu was powerless.

Once she pulled those people out of the gates of hell, a giant whirlpool suddenly appeared on the water’s surface. It was like the lake’s eye with water rushing toward the center.

Even those that escaped weren’t much better off. Ji Hongyan had spit out quite a bit of water before recovering a bit.

She looked back and saw Yuan Chu still standing in the water. She couldn’t help asking, her voice hoarse, “… Why haven’t you gotten out yet?” Didn’t you say there was an ice wyrm in the water?

Yuan Chu’s expression was serious. “You be careful. I’m going down to see if there’s anyone else who needs help.”

Actually, Yuan Chu was going to check if Ye Chenyuan came out yet. If he left right now, what was he to do if the ice wyrm caught him? He wasn’t the ice wyrm’s rival right now.

Ji Hongyan had just escaped from that terrifying distortion. She hadn’t thought that Yuan Chu would dare to go back down!

But, without waiting for her to say anything, Yuan Chu dived down into the water.

Many people had already left the whooshing and tumbling water. Few still waited, hoping that they would still be able to search when the water settled.

Yuan Chu realized the clouded water had already disappeared. The water was now clean and clear. However, pieces of broken coral and other debris floated about, greatly raising the difficulty of her search.

Before, no one had said they saw the ice wyrm, so where did it go?

Furthermore, Ye Chenyuan should have already come out by now. Had something gone wrong?

Yuan Chu didn’t notice the long, black shadow behind her slowly swimming over. Seeing that it got darker the deeper she went, she could only use a glowing pearl to light the way.

Deeper down, the number of corpses around noticeably increased.

Yuan Chu looked at them with pity in her eyes. They had worked hard for so many years. To die like this was truly tragic. She reached out and pushed aside the corpses. She descended a while farther and found that there seemed to be a flicker of light in the deepest part of the water.

Yuan Chu hurriedly swam toward it. Once she was nearer, she recognized that the light was coming from the giant clam she was trapped in before. However, didn’t Ye Chenyuan put away the clam with the palace? Could Ye Chenyuan be in this clam?

Just as Yuan Chu reached her hand out for it, she felt the water around her fluctuate, and she narrowly avoided a long, black shadow speeding by. The piercing fangs in its mouth were clamped around the giant clam.

It was that ice wyrm!

Yuan Chu was shocked. She hurried to chase it, but the ice wyrm was extremely fast underwater! With no other choice, she decided to force it ashore!

Hearing just a loud “thump!”, the people by the lake looked over, terrified. The vortex was already gone now, and they had planned to go for another round of searching in the water. However, with another glance, the black shadow which burst out of the water turned out to be an ice wyrm!

It was ten or twenty meters tall and shaped like a snake but with four legs. Its head was very small and its neck thin. However, there were two white warts on the neck, and it was currently missing one of its pointy fangs. It rose up into the sky, fiercely glaring at Yuan Chu.

Yuan Chu gradually ascended out of the water. The ice wyrm had the strength of a beginning-stage Nascent Soul human cultivator. Added onto a spiritual beast’s inborn fighting ability, it was simply not a good matchup.

Meanwhile, Ji Hongyan looked up and saw a giant, pink clam hurtling toward her. There were bite marks on it. It had clearly been stolen straight out of the ice wyrm’s mouth!

The treasure it so longed for had been taken away. How could the ice wyrm be reconciled? Its big, ice-cold eyes stared at Yuan Chu. As long as it killed her, no one here would be able to rival it!

At the sight of this, the people nearby all ran away. A fight between Nascent Souls wasn’t something ordinary people could watch. If they were even slightly careless, they would be caught in the lightning-like fish in a pond.

The ice wyrm didn’t have the time to bother with the other people. Black clouds surging overhead, it strode forward on its four legs and immediately dashed in front of Yuan Chu. At the same time, thousands of ice spears shot out. By the time Yuan Chu shattered all of the ice spears, the ice wyrm’s head was about to crash into her. In the end, she could only use her sword to block it as it crashed into her in the next instant. Her body was embedded into the side of a nearby mountain, almost breaking it straight across.

When Ji Hongyan saw the ice wyrm knock Yuan Chu away, she hurried to drag the giant clam away. The ice wyrm’s eyes swept over. It swept its tail over, intending to take the clam!

With Ji Hongyan’s strength, she definitely would not be able to block the ice wyrm’s attack. That long tail shot over like a spear. The ice wyrm’s eyes glowed, and Ji Hongyan found she could no longer move!

Her heart immediately rose into her throat. The clam was about to be snatched away! In the next second, a ray of sword light flashed over. The ice wyrm howled in grief! Yuan Chu had chopped off its tail after teleporting over!
