The Devoted Second Male Lead Decided to Favor Someone Else - Chapter 11.1

Genius Artist – Replacement of the White Moonlight for the Rich CEO

Lu Shijin walked into the living room, where there were two used cups on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

Only cold tea was left in the cups. It was clear that someone else had been here.

Lu Shijin knew exactly who had been here before, but he didn’t say anything, pretending to be ignorant.

He sat on the sofa, tilting his head up to look lovingly at Huo Qi.

“Was your trip tiring? There’s less than a week until New Years, why do you still have so much work?”

“Mn, the end of the year is typically the busiest time. I just have to make it through this bit.”

Huo Qi noticed that he had forgotten to put away the cups resting on the table and casually moved them to the side, taking out two new cups and filling them with water. He passed one to Lu Shijin.

Huo Qi had never poured water for Lu Shijin, so he was overwhelmed with gratitude and accepted the cup. “I should do these basic tasks like pouring water.”

Huo Qi gently smiled, “It’s just water, no need to care about who pours it.”

Lu Shijin was moved and took a sip, then his lips curved into a smile. “Thank you, husband.”

The two chatted for a while. Lu Shijin stuck to Huo Qi the entire time, lying on his thigh and looking at his loved one with a smile.

“Husband, after not seeing you for a couple of days, I feel like you’ve become more handsome. I really love you so much.”

Huo Qi smiled, patting Lu Shijin’s hair just like before.

Lu Shijin had dyed his hair black again before he came to Huo Qi, so with his original soft black hair, he looked very obedient.

Huo Qi said, “I actually called you over for two reasons.”

Lu Shijin sneered in his heart, This scum man finally got to the point.

“What?” Lu Shijin blinked in a naïve manner.

“Firstly, I missed you a bit after not seeing you for so long.”

This was true. After all, Huo Qi had already raised this canary for three years. It would be heartless of him to not miss him.

Lu Shijin wanted to vomit, but he pretended to be overjoyed, affectionately looking at Huo Qi, “Same.”

Huo Qi was very satisfied upon seeing Lu Shijin’s eyes filled with his figure.

“And the other thing?” It was time to get to the point.

“The other thing is this.” Huo Qi took out a stack of drawings from under the table. “You accidentally left these last time you were here. Do you remember?”

Lu Shijin sat up, taking the drawings in surprise. “I was wondering why I couldn’t find them, it turns out they were at your place!”

Huo Qi clenched his fist and began thinking about how he should say his next words.

Lu Shijin waited for a moment. Before Huo Qi said anything, he put down the drawings and deliberately said, “Since I’ve found it, I’ll take it back after.”

“Shijin, will you sell these drawings?” Huo Qi finally spoke.

“Huh? Sell?” Lu Shijin pretended to be shocked, and laughed self-deprecatingly, “Sell to whom? I’m just a student with no fame or recognition, who would buy my art? I normally get rejected even when I do illustrations for magazines.”

“That’s because they can’t appreciate talent.” Huo Qi randomly took a drawing, smoothed it out, and began praising it as though he knew what he was doing, “I think your drawings are very good. You have talent and will definitely achieve your goals in the future.”

Lu Shijin couldn’t help but laugh. “What’s with you today? Haven’t you always been uninterested in art? Why did you suddenly bring up my drawings?”

Huo Qi responded confidently, “I’m planning to establish a cultural company and train some writers and artists. If you’re willing, I can buy these drawings at the price of first-class artworks.”

Lu Shijin frowned. “You want to establish a cultural company? Why haven’t you brought this up before?”

“I’ve only settled on the idea recently.” Huo Qi avoided Lu Shijin’s gaze. “Well, are you willing?”

Lu Shijin answered firmly. “I don’t want to.”

Huo Qi raised his eyebrows in surprise, seemingly not expecting Lu Shijin to reject him so resolutely.

He had already agreed to give these drawings to Ruan Siheng, and was going to bring them over the next day. He couldn’t break his promise to Ruan Siheng.

But if Lu Shijin wasn’t willing . . . He shouldn’t steal his art, right?

“Why?” Huo Qi casually threw the drawing back onto the table. This was the first time Lu Shijin had rejected him, so Huo Qi’s tone was naturally unhappy.

Lu Shijin stared at him for a bit, then suddenly burst into laughter.

“What, are you angry because I said I’m not willing?” Lu Shijin grabbed onto Huo Qi’s arm, tilting his head up. “I’m kidding. I’m super happy that you like my art, how would I let you buy them? If you want, I can give you everything.” Then, he looked up and added affectionately, “Including myself.”

Huo Qi’s expression only eased up after hearing Lu Shijin say this.

“Why would I be angry with you?” Huo Qi lightly smiled. “But I’ll still pay you, or else people would think I took advantage of you.”

Lu Shijin leaned to the side and pretended to strip off his wool sweater. “Come, please take advantage of me. I can’t wait!”

Huo Qi hurriedly pressed on his hand, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. “Settle down, don’t act like a child.”

“What’s wrong with that?” Lu Shijin shook off Huo Qi’s hand, hugging himself and lifting his chin. “Who isn’t a baby?”

Huo Qi suddenly felt as though Lu Shijin was a bit different from before.

When Lu Shijin was with him before, he seemed to have no sense of self and all of his emotions revolved around his ‘husband’.
