The Body Swap Game - Chapter 43

After Xia Yu nodded, the five young people all looked doubtful, including Jiao Heyu, who invited Xia Yu to go out.

Everyone living in the mansion was already known by the An family. They knew what An Siyao was like.

Jiao Heyu had a crush on An Siyao, which was why he wanted to use the excuse of going out to dinner in order to knock on her door and get to talk to her.

He didn’t think she’d agree!

The five friends were so stunned that it took some jostling before they were able to go downstairs with Xia Yu.

“How do we go there? Where are we going?” One girl with a ponytail said. Her name is Shen Xiaowen. She was the one who said Xia Yu wouldn’t join them.

“I got a car from my uncle. Relax, I have a driver’s license.” One guy took out a key.

“I have a car too.” Jiao Heyu also took out his key.

The group cheered and squeezed into the cars.

This was the first time they were in Fangzhang City. Not knowing the place, they just picked a random block to park.

“There’s a restaurant in that hotel. Let’s go check out their food?” Jiao Heyu asked Xia Yu, wanting his opinion.

Shen Xiaowen, seeing his expression, snorted with derision.

She looked around. Before Xia Yu could reply, she grabbed the hands of two other friends and led them toward a street vendor.

“I’ve had enough of hotel food. I want some street food!” Shen Xiaowen shouted.

With everyone heading toward the street cart, Jiao Heyu had no choice but to follow them.

Xia Yu wasn’t too thrilled. He’s had tons of street food but rarely ate at hotels.

Oh well, it was just nice to eat for free.

Sitting at an empty table, Xia Yu watched them order meat skewers, beer, and juice.

After the meat skewers arrived, Shen Xiaowen glanced at Xia Yu with a smile.

A good girl like her would probably not know how to eat greasy BBQ on a stick.

Plus, it was hard to eat meat on a skewer.

To embarrass Xia Yu in front of Jiao Heyu, Shen Xiaowen deliberately handed a meat skewer to him.

“Thanks.” Accepting the meat skewer, Xia Yu swiped at the meat expertly, eating all of the food.

Then, he moved aside the juice in front of him, opened a can of beer, and chugged it all. He grabbed another meat skewer.

Very soon, a stack of empty skewers appeared in front of Xia Yu.

Shen Xiaowen was so shocked she froze. The rest of the group was also flabbergasted.

At this moment, there were cracks in the image of An Siyao as a perfect, gentle girl in Jiao Heyu’s mind.

“Eat! Why are you all watching me?” With Xia Yu’s words, the five of them also started eating.

The meat skewers were delicious and much better than the street food in Zilang City. Xia Yu ate well, and the other five people also enjoyed themselves.

After 10 plates of meat skewers, the five of them were all quite full. They slowed down and started to chat.

Xia Yu heard them talking and helped them summarize:

“My dad just got a Lamborghini.”

“My mom bought a makeup shop in District 11.”

“My older brother bought a submarine in District 4.”

“My grandpa got a young and pretty nanny.”

They were all in school and were controlled by their parents. They could only talk about their elders.

When it was Jiao Heyu’s turn to talk, he looked at Xia Yu and said, “My dad recently bought land in Zilang City, for probably this amount!”

He raised three fingers.

The other five people, including Xia Yu, politely expressed amazement, though they weren’t really interested. They wanted to talk more about the new nanny.

However, people at the next table were really interested in their conversation.

“My dad recently bought land in Zilang City, for probably for this amount!” A bare-chested man imitated Jiao Heyu’s voice and gesture.

His friends laughed so loud that they could be heard across the street.

They didn’t know Jiao Heyu was telling the truth. They thought these young people were bragging.

In Xia Yu’s former life, due to microblogs and other social media platforms, people knew rich people were like ordinary people too. In this world, there was no such knowledge.

To the bare-chested man, how could rich people eat street food?

That was why they laughed.

Jiao Heyu, who was being ridiculed, instantly became angry.

Rich kids like him were always adored everywhere they went. Even if they suffered some grievances, it would be from richer kids. How dare these poor working people laugh at him?

“What are you laughing at?” Jiao Heyu said to the next table as he stood up.

The people at the next table laughed even harder. The bare-chested man stood up too. “What, you can brag, but we can’t laugh?”

Knowing it was hard to explain, Xia Yu tugged on Jiao Heyu’s clothes, wanting him to sit down. Jiao Heyu ignored him.

“I’m not bragging!” Jiao Heyu slammed the table.

The bare-chested man imitated him again, slamming the table too. “I’m not bragging! My dad is Wang Yun!”

“Ha ha ha!”

Now, everyone eating at the street vendor laughed. Laughter filled the area.

Jiao Heyu had never been mortified like this. His face reddened. He began cursing at the bare-chested man.

This wasn’t a smart move. People at the next table all stood up.

At this point, the other table only wanted to scare Jiao Heyu a little bit. If he backed down, things could still be fine.

Jiao Heyu, however, didn’t know when to quit. His friends now also stood up.

Xia Yu wanted to stop them. But he realized that if he did, these naive kids would probably blame him for interfering.

Xia Yu didn’t want to do thankless jobs.

They would have to suffer for themselves.

Xia Yu didn’t stand up. He kept eating the meat skewers.

Jiao Heyu, still cursing at the bare-chested man, didn’t see this, but Shen Xiaowen noticed. She thought Xia Yu was afraid to stand up.

Before she could make fun of Xia Yu, Jiao Heyu encountered a new situation.

After several instances of shouting, the bare-chested man pushed Jiao Heyu to the ground, then picked up a beer bottle. His buddies also stomped toward Xia Yu’s friends.

Jiao Heyu was now terrified. He tried to take out his phone to call the police, but his hand shook so badly, so the phone fell under the table.

By now, the bare-chested man had raised the beer bottle in his hand.

“Dang!”

But the sound didn’t come from Jiao Heyu, it came from the bare-chested man.

The bare-chested man had fallen to the ground.

Everyone in both groups was shocked. They watched Xia Yu, who stood next to the bare-chested man.

Xia Yu tossed the stool he was holding.

The sound of the stool falling woke up the other group from their stupor. They charged forward, wanting revenge. Xia Yu grabbed Shen Xiaowen, his hand reaching inside her clothes.

While Shen Xiaowen blushed, Xia Yu took out her wallet and spilled all the money on the ground.

“For your medical bills,” Xia Yu said.

There was 10 thousand yuan in her wallet. It was quite a visual thrill as the bills littered the ground. It was mentally stimulating too.

When the other group saw the money, they were very tempted. They didn’t earn much each month in spite of their hard work. Now, there was a chance for free money.

After two seconds, when one person squatted down to pick up the money, everyone else followed.

One strike, two strikes, ka-pow!

Xia Yu used Scaring first. Then, he knocked the bare-chested man to the ground, overwhelming them. The money further demoralized them.

Now, even if Xia Yu and the group stayed where they were, they wouldn’t have attacked them.

However, to be safe, Xia Yu grabbed Shen Xiaowen, telling them to leave quickly.

In order to prevent more surprises, he took Jiao Heyu’s wallet and spilled his money too.

After the group crossed the street, they began to calm down.

Shen Xiaowen patted her chest and grabbed Xia Yu’s arm. “Yaoyao, you were incredible!”
