The leader of the security guard was taken aback, speechless.

The girl looked like all blood had drained from her face, and choked on her own words.

Quan Jin retrieved the permit from the hands of the security guard and, under their wide-eyed gawks, she turned and entered the pharmacy, “Get lost before I get mad. Those lousy rules set by the Capital only work for you people. They can’t control me!”

The sheer arrogance in her tone!

No, she shouldn’t–

The girl stared at Quan Jin’s silhouette, her heart overwhelmed with emotions.

As far as she could remember, Quan Jin had always been ordered around by An Yunnuan like a servant; not only was she weak, she had seemed extremely naive as well. How could she have broken the cell phone with such brute force?

“Guard the pharmacy entrance!”

Watching as Quan Jin entered the pharmacy, the security guard began to relay orders to the rest of the team, then glaring at the confused girl, “Are you sure that the permit doesn’t belong to her?”

The girl immediately regained her composure and confirmed, “Yes, I am sure. We were schoolmates, she was just the adopted godchild of the An family. With her status, there is no way she could have this permit. She must have stolen it.”

Seeing what Quan Jin was capable of, it was likely that she had stolen or maybe even extorted someone for it.

The security guard quickly pulled out his cell phone and dialed. As soon as the call was connected, he spoke anxiously, guilt echoing in his voice, “Manager, we have an emergency! The target has shown up, but it’s a decoy! The permit is real, but the person was not, she has already entered the pharmacy and–she seems to be displaying some abnormal behavior. We–we can’t take her down… Alright, I will immediately inform the vice-captain of the law enforcement team.”

The security team collectively let out a sigh of relief when the call ended.

Yu’s father, the pharmacy manager, hurried in, not long later, sweating profusely, fear clouding his eyes. He had been specially instructed by the senior officer from the headquarters. That person was of such high status that even the Capital could not afford to offend them; now the security was claiming that it was an imposter!

“Are you sure the person was an imposter?” The middle-aged man glared at the security guard, with a cold, reprimanding tone.

The girl standing right by them masked any animosity she had toward Quan Jin and interrupted them with confidence, “I am sure! I recognize her, she must be an imposter!”

“She’d better be! Why haven’t you arrested her yet? If anything happens and the Capital finds out, we will be dead meat!”

Quan Jin was completely oblivious to the confusion outside the pharmacy.

She found her medication on the top floor of the pharmacy. The toxins in her body were rather unusual, destructive to the nervous system, and there wasn’t a single antidote available on the market. No hospitals in the Capital, let alone those in Jiang, had been able to diagnose her properly.

Quan Jin could not fathom who would have wanted to kill her.

Footsteps scurried up the stairwell.

“According to the surveillance system, she is on this level,” came the voice of the security guard..

“Surround her, and be careful with the medication!”

As soon as she heard the words, the security team rushed up with their tasers, completely surrounding her as she took her medication. All in high alert, as if they were arresting a criminal.

Quan Jin looked up in confusion.

What on Earth…?

“How daring of you to try to impersonate someone appointed by the headquarters!”

The security guard and the pharmacy manager strode toward her, angered. The manager looked at her, “You–it’s you! Why are you here?”
