Qiao Yushan was sitting on the sofa, holding a tablet computer in her hand and dealing with some official business matters. When she saw Su Han standing at the door, she was stunned.

‘Is this bastard…really here to cancel the engagement?’

Thinking of this, Qiao Yushan suddenly looked a little sullen. She clenched her teeth a little and stood up immediately with a trace of anger in her eyes.

“What are you doing here?” She stared at Su Han, her tone somewhat cold and indifferent.

Su Han spread his hands, looking a little helpless as he didn’t expect to run into her as soon as he arrived.

He smiled and said, “I told you before at the hospital that I’m here to…”

“What exactly do you want!?” Hearing Su Han say this, Qiao Yushan instantly seemed to be riled up. ‘So this bastard is really here to cancel the engagement!’

‘He doesn’t like me?’

‘How dare he say he doesn’t like me?’

‘He’s just a despicable college dropout who has nothing to his name an only deceives young girls. How dare he say that he doesn’t like me? How dare he come to cancel the engagement!?!’

Qiao Yushan was really furious. Some were even… unwilling.

‘Someone like Su Han actually has the cheek to say that he doesn’t like me? Am I that awful?’ A trace of contempt appeared in her eyes, as if she had heard the greatest joke ever.

Su Han remained calm, looking at Qiao Yushan seriously. He knew that the woman in front of him was often highly mighty because she was famous in Shanghai and had a long list of suitors who wouldn’t mind paying a massive price to kiss her.

However, he wasn’t like them. He would only follow his heart and would never force himself to like someone he didn’t fancy. He had never spent any time with her in the last few years so there were no feelings between them either. What’s the point of getting married then?

“Nothing, I just think that it’ll be good for both of us. It won’t be difficult for you and I don’t have to…”

Before Su Han finished speaking, Qiao Yushan had already stormed towards him, wearing a pair of white-colored slippers on her feet, on which there was a cute panda design. However, she seemed to be hopping mad.

“Su Han, listen to me clearly,” Qiao Yushan’s tone was cold as she glared at Su Han indignantly. She clipped, “If anything, I’m the only one who can cancel the engagement. I’m the one dumping you, not the other way around!”

Qiao Yushan’s voice became much louder with a tinge of indignation.

“Yushan!”

Before Su Han even finished speaking, a majestic voice came from behind him. Su Han turned to take a look, only to see an old man with white hair and a furious expression on his face. He was walking in slowly, supporting himself against his cane.

Su Han nodded and greeted, “Grandpa Qiao.”

Looking at Su Han, Qiao Jianrong’s frown eased slightly and nodded. However, when he turned to look at Qiao Yushan, his face suddenly turned sullen again. “Hmph, do you not listen to me anymore? Do you think you can disobey me just because you’ve grown up now?!”

He stared at Qiao Yushan, causing the latter to be stunned because he had never been so angry before.

Ever since she was a child, her grandfather had never been so mad at her, nor had he ever spoken to her so sternly. Yet, he was now berating her just because of Su Han, the good-for-nothing in her eyes, who had just returned to the city.

Qiao Yushan stood still in shock, her eyes slightly red and her heart filled with grievances. She wondered, ‘Why? Just why!?!”

“This engagement was set by me. If you still acknowledge me as your grandfather, don’t be rude to Su Han!” Qiao Jianrong chided coldly. “You want to cancel the engagement? Wait until I die!”

Qiao Yushan’s body trembled and she almost lost her balance. Grandpa… actually said such serious things to me.

‘Is Su Han more important to him than me, his biological granddaughter!?’

“Grandpa…” Qiao Yushan felt really aggrieved and she was almost unable to suppress her tears any longer. She wanted to plead with her grandfather to take back his words.

“Don’t call me Grandpa! Do you still respect me as your grandfather?” Qiao Jianrong’s voice also became louder.

Qiao Yushan bit her lips with tears in her eyes. She glanced at Su Han who was standing still with an innocent look on her face while more anger and resentment surged from the bottom of her heart. She turned around and ran upstairs in tears, unable to hold her emotions back anymore.

‘Grandpa actually berated me for an outsider. Why!?!’

“Grandpa Qiao, why go to that extent?” Watching Qiao Yushan head upstairs aggrievedly, Su Han shook his head somewhat helplessly. Why did things have to escalate to this point?

Qiao Jianrong sighed as he watched Qiao Yushan scurrying back to the room in tears. He turned his head to look at Su Han and said slightly apologetically, “Su Han, Yushan is still young and doesn’t know any better. Please don’t mind her.”

Others may not know Su Han well but he definitely knew how exemplary and outstanding Su Han was. Back then, the ethereal old Daoist had saved the Qiao family so in order to repay the kindness, Qiao Jianrong settled on this engagement. He obviously wouldn’t have the slightest doubt about the old Daoist master’s trusted disciple, Su Han.

Su Han wanted to broach the topic about the engagement but when he saw Qiao Jianrong’s facial expression, he decided not to talk about it, lest he upset the latter again.

“We haven’t seen each other for many years, and we’ve grown distant from each other too. I can understand why she’s unhappy about the sudden engagement,” Su Han said.

Qiao Jianrong paused and said, “You’ve got a long way ahead. I believe Yushan will think it over. Since you’ve just came to Tianhai, you haven’t settled down yet, right?”

Seeing that Su Han had nodded, Qiao Jianrong directly said, “Just stay at our place. I’ll ask Madam Wu to prepare a room for you.”

Su Han laughed and was just about to refuse, but he saw that Qiao Jianrong had already made the request. “You don’t have to decline, just listen to me.”

Qiao Jianrong called Madam Wu over and told her to take Su Han to the room, so Su Han had no choice but to stop talking about it.

“Sir, this way please,” said the benevolent-looking Madam Wu, who was fifty years old and was smiling at him at the moment.

“Thank you, Madam Wu, you can call me Little Su.” If Qiao Yushan were to hear her address him as ‘Sir’, she would definitely be furious.

Su Han was also a little helpless.

Madam Wu brought Su Han into the room, and told him to call her whenever he needed anything. She then went back to work.

Su Han entered the room and realized that it was not the guest room of the Qiao family, but what seemed to be the master bedroom. ‘Seems like Old Master Qiao is very determined. If I were to cancel the engagement, he’ll definitely be displeased.’

“Master, you’ve really given me a tough problem.” Su Han laughed bitterly. His master, the old Daoist, had really put him in a difficult spot by settling on an engagement for him.

Since things had come to this, he decided to leave them be. Su Han stopped dwelling on it and thought tovhimself that he would make things clear to Qiao Jianrong when the time is right.

After organizing his things, Su Han took a shower, rinsed himself of all the fatigue and then sat cross-legged on the bed to begin cultivating.

From the time he joined the tutelage of the old Daoist master, he had been practicing and cultivating every day. At this point, he had already practiced the “Heavenly Scripture” to an extremely high level.

Su Han was clueless about the origin of the “Heavenly Scripture” as the old Daoist only told him that the scripture was fated to be with him. The “Heavenly Scripture” was divided into three volumes.

Among them, the ‘Earth’ volume revolved around medical techniques. Su Han had learned to use his Xuan Qi finger, from the ‘Human’ volume. The ‘Human’ volume was mainly focused on the cultivation of ancient martial Xuan Qi. At present, Su Han’s strength had already far surpassed that of his master’s but he didn’t know to which extent it was so.

Well, because there had never been anyone who could make Su Han exert his full strength!
