Jian Rushi got so absorbed in talking to Tang Ge on the phone that she was unaware of Helian Ze coming back. He overheard her conversation with Tang Ge, but pretended to hear nothing. He just gave a warning cough.
His voice scared her rigid and she immediately hung up.
“You must be bored these days. I will take you out for a trip tomorrow.” Mr. Helian couldn’t help making fun of her.
Jian Rushi’s face turned blue in embarrassment. The other day she had acted like a spoiled child in front of Helian Ze and asked for a trip, but he had turned her down without hesitation on the pretext of having a deal of work to do recently. Now he said he was going to take her out tomorrow?!
“Do you have time?”
“I’ll work overtime to finish my work tonight so I can take you out tomorrow.”
Without thinking, Jian Rushi blurted out, “No.”
Mr. Helian gave a meaningful smile but didn’t lay bare her real intention. He deliberately misinterpreted the meaning of her answer and said, “I know you don’t want me to work too hard, but I really want to go out for a trip with you.
