So You Have Loved Me Too - Chapter 57

“Ji Anning, where are you going?” Yang Danning promptly chased after Ji Anning. Shye gripped her by her wrists, she refused to let her go.

Ji Anning found Yang Danning’s behavior inexplicable. She blinked at her quizzically, “I’m going to the hostel to shower and change before going home. What are you up to?”

“Call your little uncle now and ask him out for dinner with us,” said Yang Danning straightforwardly.

“Ha,” Ji Anning giggled. Then curbing her laughter, she pointed to herself with uncertainty as she asked Yang Danning perplexedly, “Are you telling me to ask my Little Uncle out for dinner?”

Was she kidding?

Did she not know her words bore little weight at the Jis? How could she convince her proud and arrogant Little Uncle to have dinner?

Miss Yang thought too highly of her.

“Yup,” Yang Danning nodded her head, “Absolutely.”

“Haha,” after sneering twice, Ji Anning laughed a couple of times more, “Haha. Are you joking? You stand a better chance of success doing it on your own.”

“I’m a girl. I can’t be so forward at the beginning. I need to be reserved,” Miss Yang suddenly lowered her head uneasily.

Did Miss Yang want to be reserved? It sounded like the joke of the year to Ji Anning.

She could not help laughing.

Yang Danning reached her hand over to hug her arm and implored, “Ask him out, okay? Will you help me ask him out, my dear Anning?”

Ji Anning was helpless. Yang Danning probably would not let her off if she did not try. After Ji Anning contemplated, she nodded her head, “Okay. I know you’ll die trying.”

As she spoke, she removed the mobile phone from her pocket. After turning it on, she recalled not having Ji Chicheng’s phone number, “What’s his number?”

“How can you not even have your little uncle’s phone number? You’re an unworthy junior,” Yang Danning complained about Ji Anning while she lowered her head to take her mobile phone from her bag.

Damn. Was it imperative to have her little uncle’s mobile phone number since she was merely his nephew’s wife?

Ji Anning rolled her eyes at Yang Danning.

After Yang Danning gave her Ji Chicheng’s number, she called immediately.

On hearing the beeping sounds, the instinctive uneasiness Ji Anning felt about Ji Chicheng swelled, making her heart palpitate suddenly.

After beeping twice, she heard someone picking up. But without uttering a word, all she could vaguely make out was his breathing.

Recalling the objective of her phone call, Ji Anning got exceptionally nervous. As though she was asking him out on a date, she held the mobile phone with both hands, doing her utmost to make herself sound alert, ‘Hello, Little Uncle? It’s me, Anning.”

“I know,” the man’s voice was customarily indifferent.

Yet it sounded mesmerizing nonetheless.

Did he know? Ji Anning was momentarily astonished before swiftly getting to the point, “Erm… I heard you reported for work at T Uni. Why don’t we do dinner tonight?”

“Wait for me where you are.”

Erm!

The man replied placidly, sending Ji Anning into a daze. In that split second, her heartbeat altered slightly yet again.

Wait for him where she was? Did he know where she was?

Scouring the place dumbfounded, she saw the familiar statuesque silhouette from the corner of her eye when her eyes veered back.

He was walking towards them leisurely.

In a white long-sleeved shirt and black suit, distinct nobleness and grace along with a unique tameless aura emanated top to toe from him.

Ji Anning gaped in shock. It was so unbelievable that it took quite some time to collect herself before she said, “Uh huh,” into the mobile phone. Only then did she realize, Ji Chicheng already hung up the phone.
